Precisely.
Lol. Of course I care. I don't want to offend anyone. It's not ***my culture***. Anyways, I guess I'll try it if I visit those places
All of those types have a different purpose or something?

LOL It won't offend anyone  Infact....as far as I know...people here feel happy if a foreigner is interested in their culture.

Uhmmm...depends. Sarees can be wore on normal days too. But their are some special types which are worn during occasions. Each festival has its own set of attires. On traditional typical festivals of Hinduism, Saree is worn. Then there's different attire for festivals like Onam. Its a tradition to wear expensive sarees on the eve of Diwali. South India has its own rich and unique cultures.

Its a multicultural country as you know it. There are like...tons of festivals. Eaxh festival is for a specific culture. Like Onam is for South Indians....that too not all of them...Diwali is celebrated commonly....Ganpati festival is for us Maharashtrians, Christmas....no need to tell. Dussehra is celebrated on a wide scale by Gujratis. It is also more prominent in the North India. Punjabis celebrate Baisakhi which is celebrated nearly at the end of monsoon to signify the start of harvesting season. Then there's Padwa to mark the start of new Hindu year...
