but the movie is just so good! and it's non-canon to boot :umm: it'll attract any non-fan

It still shows characters that are introduced way later and the emotional impact won't be the same though...I mean the movie foreshadows arcs.. :umm:

I'm on chapter 594 now. I should be caught up soon. Mind you, I'm skipping some of the funny arcs that the anime didn't adapt, but I'll read those once I'm caught up.

I'm guessing the anime will come back once the manga is over?

Well, I started this (anime that is) and I'm just wondering when it actually starts picking up. I wanna know how long I need to stick with it to decide whether I actually like it or not.

Yeah, I think that was more or less confirmed for a few of those arcs.

I was more referring to the continuation of the arc in the anime. Right now, they don't have enough material, but once the manga is over, they can animated the rest without hiatus!

Yeah, some of the humor isn't really my taste lol. But I'll stick with it for now.

Listen to what they say though! One little line can become an arc, even if it seems like a joke xD The episodes do not follow manga order, you can skim the manga to see the order and changes but the lines are similar but that is a choice xD

I was more referring to the continuation of the arc in the anime. Right now, they don't have enough material, but once the manga is over, they can animated the rest without hiatus!

Maybe or pull a Haikyuu since two chapters are one episode, so it can do 13 ep if they wanted to for the recent arc

the movie is technically not really cannon though. It's honestly a very good insight into the very core and nature of Gintama at its best. If you don't like the movie... I have a hard time seeing you like this anime. But that's just my opinion.

Spoilerish in the sense that you just don't know all the characters, lol. I mean yes, some events here and there will be mentioned in the series, but eh, I watched the movie when I was on episode 50, and I was fine.

the kagura's mom arc was sad T^T I sort of wished Kamui hadn't just left again, but oh well, at least he's not filled with hatred anymore.
