I watched Episode 6 of the dub and they changed up the line for Ochako on her meaning of Deku.

 

 

 

So in the manga Ochako says "The Name Deku gives her the vibe of never giving up!" 

 

 

and in the dub its, "I like Deku I think it'd be a cool superhero name and it's kinda cute!" 

 

 

Now as someone who ships OchaDeku it is sweet too hear that in the dub, but for some reason I can't help but feel a bit bugged by it. Maybe it's just me!

Loved the new chapter! It was exciting to see Deku in corporate kicks into his fighting style. Unfortunately it doesn't mitigate the problem by much because the fundamental issue hasn't been solved. That said, I can't wait to see how it plays out!

Oh I completely understand buddy, but allow me a simple explanation for it. You see, in Japanese writing systems there are at least two ways to write out Deku. Katsuki's meaning which is "worthless" or to that extent and Ochako's which is courageous or strong willed. In other words is a writing pun for Japanese writing which wouldn't translate well or even make sense to a Western audience. So they had to make due with lines that would be understood better by a western Audience It wasn't a deliberate change on the feel of the conversation

This chapter pretty much confirmed that Ochako has a thing for Midoriya, even though it was pretty blatant obvious before.

Nice to see Midoriya pulling inspiration from my #1 Homeboy Iida.

Am already interested in this new guy, Yoarashi, especially since he's apparently supposed to be even stronger than Todoroki, who's already very OP to begin with.

Side note; this is essentially Boku no Hero's version of the Chunin Exams that are about to get underway.
