That isn't really the point?? It isn't about how nice you are, it's about how much attention you give your kids. You know the message of Jiraiya's quote, and you know all about Naruto's undying empathy.
PS, The monks were Aang's parents. They loved him brought him up, and parenting isn't all about genetics. He was happy, and not neglected.
Scientific studies show that TWO active and present parents yield the best, well adjusted offspring. There is such a thing as too many cooks in the kitchen when it comes to child rearing.

I'm not saying that aang was neglected, or raised badly, I'm saying he didn't know how to parent, because he didn't have a two parent unit growing up. I never said anything about genetics.
Even adopted children raised by single parents versus two don't statistically match up to the two parent combo. its just how humans are wired.
