Sakura wants to be strong enough to make a difference, to protect her precious people (namely her team mates). She doesn't have a long term dream other than seeing her team, her precious people, happy.
It's not supposed to be a long term dream - who knows what her dream will be after that? It's a fair sight better than the very first"dream" she was introduced as having in chapter 4 while sqeeing and blushing over a Sasuke who completely ignored her.
If your friends whom you went through life and death situations were ripped apart, how is it a bad or insignificant dream to want them together and happy again?
I agree. She wants to protect people she cares for. I do not see how it is disappointing. Is not that one of the mark ofs a true heroine?
Compared with it, Naruto's original goal sounds more selfish, since he wanted to be Hokage so everyone got to acknowledge him. I do not blame him -given that he endured-, but his goal revolved around him.
Moreover, that was not her only dream. She also dreamt with surpassing Ino and becoming a good ninja was able fight on her own and did not need her best friend's protection.

I don't know about you but she looks too adorable in that panel.
I am sorry. I meant "Canon manga will suffice?"

But yes, she looks adorable. Naruto tends to bring the better out of her, whereas Sasuke tends to bring the opposite out. You only have to reread Part II to realize Naruto makes her smiling... and Sasuke gets her sad or depressed.
