Listen I don't give a kitten about otaku, but I'm under impression you're trying to overromantize otaku and you do a bad job about it. I mean sasuke is the last character to become otaku self insert. What next? Lelouch is otaku self insert too.

Some embrace the otakuness and some don't. I think the reason Japanese hate them because they're not productive and unable to communicate for some reason. The stereotype image of otaku is like what you call base dweller.

Well, it's an iconic character like James Bond.

Some people hate naruto but some people like naruto. Naruto is popular manga, it can sustains itself. Since people like it, they'll ask more. It's all matter of supply and demand.

Oh that is true and why both are still well liked as the writer know just what to do with them and will not kitten it up, and when they do they have the balls to admit that they kittened up.

 

Well that hate may grow, well maybe who knows really but I know Naruto will not be remembered like other manga that have been done in the past, and I will not let any of my family read it either well the younger ones that is. I mean if they do ask I will just say its a waste of their time and should look for better stories to read.

Japan is a country with a group first over an individual mentality...wait I"m sure I already explain this months back. One sec.

But this is a wrong translation of the Japanese word made from the American side.  The Japanese word doesn't mean it.

 

The otakus are NOT just nerds or enthusiasts....

They are more like addicted to drugs. They have no life apart their interests.

What is worse they often merge what they actually saw in manga with real life, with all the drifts which this creates.

 

Me:Really there is two reasons for this misunderstanding of the word otaku. A differences in culture in Japan & the US, and US anime fans attempt to sound more sophisticated by calling themselves a foreign word they don't understand.

 

In the US it is basically a geeks vs jocks problem both have good and bad points. Geeks are week but smart but are mostly stereotyped as spineless leading them to being bullied. While Jocks are strong but dumb and are stereotyped as the bullies. Both have their supporters who believe that one or the other is a fine way to live while disparaging the other. But both are accepted in society in their own way in the US and the west. In Japan their a more work focus culture. Working people are a benefit and are improving and maintain society. While non working (such as otakus) people are a drain on society and are leading to it's degradation. And since Japan has a society over an individual person mindset other then in manga anime and light novels most things support the workers (as far as i understand) unanimously. So the US is fine with geeks, while Japan considers them a waste of space if they are not working.

 

Also people would watch the sub version of anime didn't understand what otaku meant. All they saw were people they saw as nerds being called otaku, and figured that must be the Japanese word for geeks and nerd. Not knowing of the negative connotation that is actually associated with the word. So they proudly started calling themselves otakus to represent their love of anime and Japanese culture, while not understand what the word actually meant. Making them look like idiots."

 

Anyways if Sasuke was the insert for the otaku shouldn't he get what they think is the best girl, Hinata? If Sasuke is the insert for otakus instead of say Naruto. Why stick him with the girl they don't like? If he is suppose to be their insert character?

Read this : (it's an interview by Kishi) : Kishimoto: "But I didn't really have any devotion about the love story of the two (Naruto and Hinata) I didn't plan to write this story." --> Well.. Now Kishimoto made a horrible manga to explain to the fans how Naruto and Hinata ended up together. It's called: "The Rest".


How big will become the hypocrisy of the NaruHina? Before they hated Sakura for being a tsundere, calling it unfair and intimidating, and now..this...


Even Junko Takeuchi(Naruto voice) doesn't like the ending.Basically, she says that nothing in the manga suggested that NaruHina would become canon.
Apparently (for what I heard), she won't be voicing Bolt in the future movie. And it's funny because she told to Kishimoto a long time ago if she could voice Naruto's son if he ever has one. 

NaruHina (and SasuSaku) are canon.
But I see that there are still NaruSaku fans in Japan and around the world, and that instead than decrease, they increase. 

Note that almost all the Japanese in the picture are holding two balloons: one orange and one pink. It represent NaruSaku. 
But...Why is kishimoto there? Huh?

They knew they were gonna lose fans when they focused on pairings. And they were right. So they opted for the "larger" fan base.

 

And come to think of it, their pairings make perfect sense if they wanted to start a new series.
Its perfect, you make a spin off of a popular series so that your new show has a pre-existing fanbase. You introduce new but familiar characters so that fans don't feel alienated and at the same time can't complain if the characters seem OOC.


Of course the series would take place in the Leaf village so all of the main cast needs to live there. This being a Naruto spin off you need at least one character to have the Sharingan (nobody cares about the Byakugan, its portable binoculars at best, plus every other ninja can sense chakra accurately making the x-ray power moot).


Sasuke is off on his nature walks so you need his wife to live in the village to explain why the kid isn't traveling with his father. His wife needs to be from the main cast. Karin can't do it, she has no ties to the Leaf and she would be traveling with Sasuke. Tamaki and Ino can't do it cause they both have their own Kekkei Genkai which they need to pass on with a regular shinobi (oh wait).


Tenten and Sasuke would make absolutely no sense. The only Kunoichi left would be Hinata. She is apart of a major clan, she's loyal to the Leaf, plus she has a shipping fanbase with Sasuke. She can have a kid with him, stay in the Leaf, and it will appease a large part of the fanbase.

In short, they did it for the marketing.

Now you knew how otaku community became SS and NH bakbone ? Because in past until now, some people keep ridiculing otaku when they enter this fandom.  That why I always said NS idea actually good one but there are something wrong on its deliverence so it failed to resonane on general fans.

I hope someday NS will reonciliate with general fans, btw non all good fanfiction must follow canon anyway

Well it's the fault of the fans and Kishi's incompetent writing. He kept dangling between many and not in a good way. You can do it and have the writing not only good but acceptable to general audience. Instead, we are treated to many misguided directions with lingering feelings for a guy who should have been killed or turn good much early on.

Fans' fault would be not understanding the normal usual trope of tsundere. I know people don't like it but many series including big names use this trope and often lead them as a couple if not the best potential of them all. The best response is "deal with it."

Just like majority of starwars fan is not made up by nerd.

People hate sakura therefore they hate anything regarding her while nh & ss join force because NS threaten their pairing. The same could be said with narusasu.

No, it's general or In this case the pairing fan that need to reconcile with us and not the other way around. We are the one who get kitten on in the naruto fandom.

Because NS was so strongly hinted to in the manga and it will forever remain that way in it's pages. It will also forever be seen as a threat to the canon pairings and their fans. So I don't ever see them trying to reconcile with NS fans.

He wasn't setting up nH for the longest time in the story. It was NS till the last minute. You can't blame him for poorly writing something he was never writing to being with. You blame him for picking the relationship that he wasn't working on at the cost of the entire plot.

You could see it like have NH on standby in case Sakura fails to have a spotlight. Once he gets the word that it wasn't working, he finally put NH in progress. It only took him till the final arc to finally do something.

Most I us have we just laugh at all that they bring out I mean they are doing tone of fillers right now, all to make NH and SS look good which is just sad when you think about it, but none of us care, well I don't I just read fanfics of the real Naruto and Sakura not the one Kishi SP or NH Fanboys think they are or should be.

Yeah, NS actually have better potential if NS fandom in past more open to general fans.  It hard to made good manga while general reader is kid and preteen.

Just because we prefer fanon pair than don't mean we hate with main fandom.  Example is Eva fandom despite it contain different rival fandom but it put their competition in fanfic and fanart which will strengthen Eva fandom and their own respective fandom.

I agree with Touken, all pair actually have equal stance to gave Kishi more flexibility to choose final pairing.  And due popular demand, NH and SS picked, sorry for people who can't accept but that how WSJ worked.
