Would we still consider it proof even if it apparently isn't written by Kishi himself?
I know it was not written by Kishimoto, but I still consider it as a little hint.
You're somewhat right, but I hate when people trash on the databook for being too old. It's still the newest, and it counts until the next one comes out. When it comes to the NS stuff in there, it is only a good thing that it's so old. It means Sakura has been harboring her feelings for him for a long time, and that they are not 'sudden' at all.
I also hate when they use the "too old" argument for the databook. What does that mean? It makes no sense, it's not because Kishimoto wrote the first databook a long time ago that what he said about the characters feelings in that first databook is not true anymore. If that's the case, then Sakura doesn't love Sasuke anymore, since the first databook is too old and it said she loved Sasuke.
And also, the databooks, whatever old they are, will always be a valid source, it is written by Kishi and it describes the feelings of the characters during the period of the manga the said databook is covering.
For example, when the first databook says:
- "Sakura herself doesn't really know how she feels about Naruto. Her great love is Sasuke, but it should be notices that she also looks Naruto's way… We can't talk about love for the moment, but who knows? It might happen."
- "She feels a spontaneous admiration for Naruto. And for some reason, she's blushing."
It is and will always be true, it is not talking about her current situation, but her situation at that time of the manga. And what opposite pairing doesn't get, is that we know it is not talking about the current time, but when the databook states that Sakura doesn't love Naruto YET, we are supposed to expect the moment she will love him over Sasuke.
