Because different industries operate in different ways. The manga industry isn't like the movie industry, it's more akin to the music industry, where money is discounted, and you get awarded for sales.

Again, you're only repeating unsupported procedural strategies that seems to abruptly end at only the transactional phase. Profit is only the chief motivator for these industries operations. What you're describing sounds like the consequence of promotion, interest, and the acquisition of the product that's leaving out said chief motivator.
 

Albums are given grades based off of number of sales, as they're given rating accordingly. Platinum rated albums are rated that way after they achieve a certain number of sales, not how much they make. Manga is the same way. Have you ever seen manga covers where there's a line about how successful a manga volume is doing? It's always speaking of how many copies they have sold. Those are words from Mangaka themselves.

I fail to see the logic in your analogy. There's no systematic technique that uses the names of metals as categories for manga to my knowledge. Any listings for sum total of sales isn't even displayed except on the websites specifically dedicated to that medium of entertainment.

What they gain in money is a function of price. You said Naruto has made around 3 million? With less than half as many sales as the lates one piece volume? That means that One Piece has well over doubled Naruto's profit.Your point on reader interest has no bearing, as if there wasn't interest in Narutos theme, then it wouldn't have been near as successful. Your point on time period is also irrelevant, as AoT was OP's only competitor as of late, despite the era change (and still got crushed by OP).

I never implied that Naruto's concept didn't carry intrigue with the potential readers. You're misinterpreting what I said. My statement is intended to juxtapose the respective attractions of One Piece against Naruto. Pirates vs Ninjas. Which holds a more interesting concept?

It's been hypothesised that the ending for Naruto was motivated, in part, by what's generally favoured by the populace. Shonen Jump has few series of note beyond Naruto. It's a sharp contrast to the 1990s where manga carried more wide-scale acclaim with various series like Yu-Yu-Hakusho, Sailor Moon, Ghost in the Shell, and Inuyasha. To claim that the momentum driving the industry with quality works as much as it was back then is false. Naruto was serialised at the very end of the era, and it's mostly considered to be a series of the past 15 years since the beginning of the 21st century started. In fact, the first actual volume wasn't technically released until March of the following year.

Gaara's seiyuu simply said "pray for Sakura's happiness". Most likely he means in context of the movie, where Sakura had to play cupid for NH the whole time.

My JP friend said "Pray for Sakura's happiness in your hearts" He could mean anything but my friend said he didn't meant it as a good thing for SS, I don't know about the cupid part

I'm not saying that profit isn't a motivator, I'm saying that it doesn't determine success in the manga industry. What determines success is number of sales. Profit is a result of that.

The analogy wasn't used to compare ranking systems of the industries, only to provide support to the fact the music industry and manga industry operate in the same way.

This is just one chapter for NnT. I've seen many in just this series alone. The same thing happens in One Piece. They talk about number of copies sold, not money earned. Why? Because sales is the benchmark of success within the industry.

Pirates vs Ninja is subjective. OP is more popular in Japan, but isn't as well known worldwide, so the comparison fails in terms of interest.

I don't have sales figures for the first volumes of either.

It's irrelevant because OP hasn't shown any decline, it's popular even through a tougher market. AoT, a new series, crushed Naruto, a series that has sustained success, even through tough markets. OP isn't that much older than Naruto, it was only released two years before Naruto, if that.
