Week 8 Power Rankings

Top 10

1. Tennessee Titans Next Game: VS. Indianapolis Colts
2. New York Giants Next Game: @ Pittsburgh Steelers
3. Pittsburgh Steelers Next Game: VS. New York Giants
4. Buffalo Bills Next Game: @ Miami Dolphins
5. Washington Redskins Next Game: @ Detroit Lions
6. Tamp Bay Buccaneers Next Game: @ Dallas Cowboys
7. Carolina Pathers Next Game: VS. Arizona Cardinals
8. Arizona Cardinals Next Game: @ Carolina Panthers
9. New England Patriots Next Game: VS. St. Louis Rams
10. Green Bay Packers Next Game: BYE (Nov.2) @ Tennessee Titans

"America's Team" plummets to 15, ouch. and if they lose to Tampa like i think they will, things will get uglier in Big D than they are now. Is that even possible?

Sure it can, especially if Brad Johnson (WARNING: Arm warranty voided if pass thrown for more than 10 yards) starts again. The shelf life on Terrell Owens being a happy camper is about to expire.

Sad fact: In my fantasy football league I've scored the 4th highest total points, yet I'm 2-5. And I'm still better than my Seahawks. It's a bad sign when the first thing I look at for Washington sports is to see if the Mariners have hired a new GM.

There is no excuse for the way my Bills played today they had the game won and they gave up 18 unanswered points.

I know what you mean man, like just thinking, "Man, if the refs hadn't screwed up there..."

It's like feeling as if your win was kinda given to you, as if it were fake or something. Not the greatest feeling.

Panthers win. 6-2 and alone at the top of the NFC South (one of the few times I have ever rooted for the Cowboys). They have a bye next week followed by NFL powerhouses Oakland and Detroit.

Things are looking good for Delhomme and company.

I take it you're being sarcastic when you say "powerhouses" cuz Detroit is winless and Oakland sucks.

Detroit has had bad years in the past but this year I truly think they could go 0-16, the other winless team Cincinatti I don't think so.

It's actually a really hard thing to do. Same thing was thought of Miami last year. Detriot has won one playoff game in four decades. They haven't just had bad years, they've had a bad half century. Having watched the Dallas Mavericks stink up the NBA for nearly ten years before they became good, I kind of feel bad for them. Cardinals fans are largely in the same boat, though they should win the their division this year.

However, I don't except either team to break the all time record for futility. Tampa Bay doesn't have an 0-16 because they didn't play 16 games when Tampa went winless.Tampa holds the longest losing streak by a long shot. They went 0-14 in their first season. After that...they lost the first twelve games of the following season. They went 0-26 before winning their first game. Detroit and Cincy are bad....but they still have a ways to go before being record breaking.

John Kitna is injured, they traded away their best WR Roy Williams and their defense sucks going winless wont be as hard as you think of them.

Yeah, it is really hard to go undefeated, and winless. You almost have to try. I wouldn't be surprised if either team got a win, but I also wouldn't be surprised if neither did. They're just plain bad.

Carolina is looking great though. They'll probably make the playoffs, if they continue what they're doing. I still think there may be a little chance of the Dolphins competing for the wild card, after all, they went 3-7 a few years ago, and ended up 9-7 on the season. If they just continue to execute well and consistently on offense, and play decently on defense like they did today (I dunno, maybe an interception or two every once in a while? XD) I think they should be able to at least challenge for it. I won't be disappointed at all if they don't come close to the wild card. They've already surpassed my expectations this season. The future looks bright.

Eh...Miami was in the same boat last year and before they canned their coach St. Louis looked even worse. It's not out of the question, but it's actually very rare. I don't think anyone has ever gone 0-16. My Panthers have gone 1-15 before and still own the single season record for longest losing streak in a single season (15).

Y'know what I know it's early in the season and they do have an above .500 rating and they are first in their division (for now) but I'm giving up on my Bills this season after their loss in Miami. I've seen this crap happen before, they start out great like the first 4 or 5 games and then fall apart (2003 season anyone?). So unless they end up in the playoffs which I'm doubting at this point I hereby declare this season another failure.
