I haven't had time for movies in a long time, but finally, I managed to get out!
Iron Man-6.5/10
Ugh. This has to be the most over-hyped super hero movie of all time. My main problem with this movie: Too much Tony Stark and not enough Iron Man. Don't get me wrong, RDJr was great, but the writers seemed to have forgotten that this was a SUPERHERO movie first and foremost. I knew that we had to go through two prototypes, but the time between them and getting to the Mark 3 could have easily been cut down by 30 minutes. The mark 1 was awesome, Tony didn't do s**t in the Mark 2, and we only see the Mark 3 that we all know only twice, and the second time it was low on gas (under other circumstances, that would have been the right way to go). And the battle between Iron Man and Iron Monger was boring. On a positive note, I did like the way the movie rose questions about making weapons and what companies do with them.
The Incredible Hulk-8/10
THIS is how it's done! The CG is much better than the first commercials implied, and this Hulk is bad-ass! Edward Norton plays a much better Bruce Banner than Eric Bana did. I also enjoyed how the film managed to be suspenseful even without the big green giant on the screen. And THAT final battle was enjoyable and emotional as well. Also, when I heard that Hulk would talk, I was very iffy, but "Hulk Smash!" never sounded cooler. If there are any flaws, I'd say that Lib Tyler and the guy who played Thunderbolt Ross didn't seem too committed to their roles, and I think they should have had a flashback of the origin where Ed Norton actually narrates it. You know, quick, but gives everyone a clear picture of what happened.
Get Smart-9/10
I frikin' LOVED this movie! The beginning was a bit slow, but soon I was laughing my ass off! I just loved how it parodied the concept of super spies, and Smart's mistakes were outrageous yet not terribly hard to believe. The dialouge was fantastic, and it also did it's job as an action-movie quite well too. Surprisingly, it made me a bit sad to, because I realized that this movie was based on a TV show my dad used to watch on Nick at Nite.
