I really like the explanation. So much genuine compared to Kishi.

Bryke has always been passionate about writing, and always try to push the boundaries and make a what feels right, guess that's why I'm so happy. I just I can't.
I'm a lot like Korra, (minus being a POC) and just to see myself in her is just amazing. (since I'm also Bisexual)

I read the whole thing, and I agree with you 4life. So genuine and they're so close with us fans. They even know of all our shipnames. So embarrasing! XD And I'm so happy for Tahno's return, I was waiting for him! The only thing I'm iffy about is the repeated use of the queer-slur, but maybe he isn't as straight as we think or something. idk, but I'm hoping he's reclaiming it. But I think Bryke really cares for fans, I am so grateful. I think my love for Korra also kinda neutralizes my bitterness for Kishi these days.

Yeah, I'm aro, but I'm in the grey-bi spectrum, so I am so grateful. And he basically confirmed they're bis now. I wanted their sexualities to remain unknown, so everyone could make their headcanons and be happy. But maybe this will tone down the lesbian vs bi debate that's going on?

I wonder, is it possible the existence of another avatar series? I mean Bryke will be going to dreamworks right? So logically if Nick wants it to continue they need another writers, so the question is:
1) You guys think its better if the series stopped here or...
2) Nick signing up new writers/producers for a eventual third series?
I would like another series to be honest.

It's funny to read the explanation of Book 1 romance aspect because it does feel that way. It's like, "Well, not really my choice but we can't do that...right?" which probably explains the rushed developments and so on. There's no retcon, just the story flow. This is how you write.

Naruhina came out of nowhere. But Korrasami was in the development since book 2...
Yeah this wasn't an asspull at all.

Not to mention that in book 1, love happened in 5 episodes. Only 5 episodes. That is too fast and then love triangle already. It just seems so rushed. I heard this pairing got it developed greatly in book 3 and I have been seeing so many gif and many of them comes off strong friendship...and more. The only problem was that I didn't believe they can pull homosexual love. By no means, I'm against it. I'm all for it. Just can they do it? The answer is yes, in a way that they can get away with. Kudos to them. No need for "lies", no need to say "money talks", especially since Nick keeps taking away from them, and so on. These guys are real.Naruhina came out of nowhere. That reminds me of a quote by grrm;
“I think there are two types of writers, the architects and the gardeners. The architects plan everything ahead of time, like an architect building a house. They know how many rooms are going to be in the house, what kind of roof they're going to have, where the wires are going to run, what kind of plumbing there's going to be. They have the whole thing designed and blueprinted out before they even nail the first board up. The gardeners dig a hole, drop in a seed and water it. They kind of know what seed it is, they know if planted a fantasy seed or mystery seed or whatever. But as the plant comes up and they water it, they don't know how many branches it's going to have, they find out as it grows. And I'm much more a gardener than an architect.”
Bryke are gardeners! XD

Yes, and the end of book 1 was a rush too. The kiss and big L word could've waited. Korra and Asami have danced around eachother for 2 seasons, but a handhold is enough for me because they haven't even talked about their feelings yet.

Honestly, the end ended just right in many ways, even the romance because they will find themselves new status of relationship within the journey together. It's not truly concluded, but you get the idea where they're going. Plus it does work more that they came from the same boat with rough time at life (romance, hardship, family manners, and so on). So yes, I approve this pairing.

they did say that kataang is the dna of the show and were very vocal about loving the pair, so i wouldn't be bothered by what he said. i look it as kataang being written in a way where it had no other choice but to end with them being together, because as you know their development started the moment he emerged from the iceberg and looked katara in the eyes.

What is slightly actually shocking to me is that the Korrasami fandom is actually slightly more nicer than the NH/SS (I see a hell of a lot of hate but also a bunch of apologies)...Narusaku I remember in the tags never got a lot of apologies from the haters...hmm.
I'm sorry for my ignorance before guys. Ship Makorra its your ship y'know. Love is love and if Zutara is still kicking as I see, Makorra can do the same!

still it was never forced though ever as for korrasami i just saw them as good friends they didn't need to take it farther then that imo anyway there was also something else that stuck out to me when they told fns to take off the hetero lens and im thinking *so bryke is forcing fans that don't support the gay lifestyle to see korra and asami as lovers and nothing else?* thats just what i got from it and like i said i see korra and her as good friends with no indication of it being anything more then that

This really picked up my shipping spirits!
I agree that it could have been done better, and I'm glad that i think it was Bryan, confirmed that it wasnt done to perfection by any stroke of the imagination, but I still think the good outweighs the bad.
They couldn't be as explicit as they were with Makorra which pretty much everyone figured out, but i dont think thats reason enough to say they should have left it alone. I think pushing it as far as they did will help normalize the idea and the overwhelmingly positive reaction will help open up doors. If the people with the power don't start at least pushing the boundaries then I don't think change will happen as soon as it can. Who knows, someone could be pitching a non hetero romance right now and using the korrasami reaction to help get it supported.
Off the top of my head this is the first bi representation I have ever seen in a American Cartoon, and for it to be attached to a franchise as big as Alta??? I think its a huge deal and a big step in the right direction imo.
Some of the fan reaction had me tearing up. I am a straight cis woman, but i am also a person of color. I know what its like to look to media and not see anyone like you on the screen or in the books. Seeing so many people talk about how good it felt to finally feel like they got representation...bravo!

And that's why we got a screwed up ending. It was all forced and never relied on the developments from the past to justify the pairing. No one really wins in terms of handling things but no one wants to acknowledge that. It's all disaster from there on.What is slightly actually shocking to me is that the Korrasami fandom is actually slightly more nicer than the NH/SS (I see a hell of a lot of hate but also a bunch of apologies)...Narusaku I remember in the tags never got a lot of apologies from the haters...hmm.
