I wouldn't go all out saying CC2 or whoever is biased,
I mean yes in one of the games Naruto and Sakura had an ultimate together that was comical, naruto jumped into the air, made many clones, sakura grabbed them and used them as a weapon to slam into the ground.
But its just, what studio Pierrot did combined with the years of the fandom being overzealous with Hinata well if they see a character become more than they originated, they may move with it in some degree. With Hinata, it was Pierrot using her for many fillers and the fandom just become well, spreading a false image of her like a plauge. The Hinata/NH fandom in part spread like an infestation to the point that its not entire fandom just that bunch that kept up this incredible misguided preception of what she actually is in the manga, the only source material, and everything else with the fillers, spin-offs, games etc.
Its like look at UNS2 and 3, did HInata have any major role? No she didn't and these games mainly kept to the canon, she had her role in side arcs but even in UNS2 with pain as the final boss, they didn't let her moment happen, yet they did for Sakura hugging Naruto?
Hell last week NH fans complained about the Minato event and sakura smiling at minato for taking care of naruto, and these fans were complaining about the stuido that gave them so many extras over the years?
My gripe with Hinata is that she is 15% actual canon from the author and creator, 85% a combination of filler, twisted fan perception, fanservice, poster character, infrequentness in the manga, not relevent. And yet somehow the sad truth is, a large portion of fans are somehow so narrow minded to act like zealots, to believe that something so similifed and so unaddressed is just going to occur when the creator nor anyone who sticks with just the manga would even think of Hinata as somehow the most critical. I mean would some think of her as a love interest, yeah but maybe by the time they reach 631 or see 662-663 they would think of this as contested between sakura and hinata.
But seriously, my gripe isn't with HInata, its the fandom and for the fact you have so many people just worshipping, just sucking up to hinata like she is flawless, acting so zealot like around a character so infrequent and so basic and thin like her, thinking she has some more important or greater role in the entire story, I cannot believe people even view her like this, like where did this fandom originate, did they exist like the locust deep under the earth in gears of war? Was their emergance day chapter 437 or when that waste of an episode 166 came out? Or were they like the flood in halo? Some fans leftover from a previous by gone pairing war that had lost their source of food and needed a new host on something outrageous and flawed plotwise and they just happened to find the naruto fandom and leeched onto the material to make some overblown perceptions about Hinata?
Seriously my problem is still at this point, just why do people consistently and I mean consistently just insist, just believe, just think that NH is going to occur like in a snap of a finger when like SS it has its own problems and the most apparent one still being naruto still loves Sakura and the fact that so many fans in the NH fandom once followed kushinas stuff from 504 then just turned away from it because minatos input didnt agree with them, how are we to believe Hinata is the love interest when this past run of 631 to 663 just made things that much harder to believe. Seriously part of me wants NS to come just to upset so many fans because in part, I feel they would deserve it.
Well this is a game thread, not a debate one but yeah, once again a fandom shows annoyance with non-canon material. Hinata is nothing more than a fodderized filler marketing character at this point if you ask me. She is only 15% actual canon, 85% a mix of non-canon junk and treated as a poster child just to whore her character out because people love the boob with legs.
Whats funny though is still, even if you just play as naruto or sakura with the other as the sole support, it was still a good combination. Sakura was one of the best to use for support in the games because of her cheery blossom clash being usable in both the ground and air and having a good area of effect when it hits to send people upwards. It was actually easy to beat Hinata when someone played as her or tried using her as support, it was always funny to let them try and use their standard special with hinata but keep an inch out of range, leave her helpless, then strike the moment her special ended. I hardly lost against people when they played as her, generally I would win 9 out of 10 times.
Even then, with the new seal sakura in, I still bet regardless of naruto and sakura only being team 7 most likely and/or not having any ultimate together, they can still be one of the most effective all arounder team ups in the game. Its been like that for the past 3 games, i don't expect it to be different in this one.
To me, Hinata is still a punching bag in this game which makes beating her and certain other characters all the more fun.
