She says only those who know byakugou no jutsu (regeneration jutsu) are allowed to break the first three laws!

After that she went on to say that it is a forbidden technique of her only.

 

But this is said before Sakura created the seal. Maybe she can use it now!

For now it's speculation upon speculation. It doesn't feel right if she was capable of utilizing that much power from the beginning of Part 2.

 

Either creating the seal helped her get more stamina and chakra as Part 2 progressed in order to properly use such high level attacks, or she uses some part of the chakra in the seal to increase her power.

As I said in the previous posts, it does make sense. Yes she was capable of using such power, however, her stamina was going to run out fast. That's why she created the seal.
Whenever her initial stamina runs out, she releases the seal and opens pandora's box to utilize the treasures in there, so to speak.

Uhm, yes. Long ago I found a post made @NF about how in fact, Tsunade's seal is a replica of Hashi's Sage Mode in terms of healing. Let me look it on NB cause I shared with people there.

DISCLAIMER: This theory doesn't belong to me!

 

I have found it on another forum and decided to share it with you guys as I find it highly probable and it fits the patterns with the Sannins. Credits go to the original creator.

 

I. Preface

 

 

In the recent chapter, we've seen that Hashirama's Sage Mode activation creates a seal that expands across his face in a similar fashion to Tsunade's Yin Seal. [ 1 ] As this is a Sage Mode, it was naturally taught in a different realm, which we can only assume to be Shikkotsurin since it is the only remaining training ground of the technique. Given that Ryuchi cave and Mount Myoboku are home to toads and snakes, we naturally relate Shikkotsurin to slugs, and thus Tsunade, the Slug Princess.

 

II. The Theory

 

 

Both Jiraiya and Orochimaru had attempted to learn Sage Mode in the past, though neither were able to master the techniques. It would be odd for Tsunade to be the odd one out here, since she is a fellow Sannin. As such, my theory is that Tsunade too attempted to learn Sage Mode, and failed. 

 

We don't know the true potential of Hashirama's SM, but we can tell that it increases his chakra reserves considerably given the scale of the mokuton he was able to perform as a result of being buffed so much. Given that Hashirama purposely activated SM in order to use the mokuton, it would be fair to assume he activated it with the intention of increasing his chakra. This is where the technique relates to Tsunade's seal, which the Princess made in order to store large volumes of chakra in her forehead over a period of time. Is it possible that she created the seal as a substitute for the SM seal which she could never master?

 

Tsunade clearly designed the appearance of her seal off her grandmother's seal [ 1 ] so evidently she had partly created the fuuinjutsu based off techniques that had already existed. Furthermore, such an advanced sealing jutsu would only be known by the Senju and Uzumaki clans, so if this theory were to be correct, then it would make more sense as to why a researcher like Orochimaru had never heard or even seen anything like it before. [ 1 ]

 

Finally, I find it interesting that the first technique Hashirama used in Sage Mode was a giant Guanyin statue summoning. Note that Tsunade's Byakugou technique roughly translates as ' Fine White Hair ' which in chinese myths and legends was a white swirl of fine hair on the forehead of Buddha. While these two figures are different, they are both related to each other in chinese mythology. Furthermore, the hair was represented in art by a spiral or a dot, or even a gem or pearl. It represents the third eye which allows one to see past the mundane world and into the divine world. Evidently, the basis of Tsunade's technique has clear parallels with Hashirama's technique.

Well that does put things into perspective. Tsunade is the only Sannin to have no explicitly stated SM available for her to use. Kishimoto generally does not reference or establish dualistic concepts like these without exploring them fully. But if Tsunade's Yin Seal truly is supposed to act as an artificial SM then why would it not provide her with the benefits commonly associated with it such as enhanced strength, heightened sensory perception of the world around, or an enhancement to the potency of her techniques? Perhaps she wanted to centre the applications of the Yin Seal around restorative and supplemental benefits in general. Tsunade does acquire a state of temporary immortality where she is unable to die in battle due to the constant regeneration of her body that the seal's activation entails.

 

One other possible theory that could assist in explaining why Tsunade's seal doesn't enhance her physical stats is that she is only accumulating her own unadulterated chakra. Without the ability to acquire and then intermix the forces of nature with her own chakra she is only able to automatize and intensify the acceleration of cellular reconstruction; essentially relegating this quasi SM of hers for supplementary purposes only. That is unless there is a quote referring to Tsunade's strength having increased after activating Sozo Saisei or Byakugou.

 

If there is any truth to these aforementioned theories then perhaps Sakura will be the one to master the ability of acquiring sage chakra and then intermixing it with her seal in order to create a perfected SM. Well it's something to think about at least.

Yup. I still think Shikkotsurin will come to play. We haven't had Tsunade neither Hashirama displaying it as related to Shikkotsurin. So I fairly believe this will be Sakura's SM.

I think you Atheck made a post about how Sakura with her supplementary chakra from the seal, would be a ble to absorb Natural as well, since she is able to maintain it, so to speak, with the chakra stored in the seal. Because until now, the only problem has been large chakra pools, however, since Sakura has the seal now, she has like 3 years of chakra stored there. Definitely a large pool.

So why shouldn't she acquire it?!

All those covers with Sakura and the slugs, also the mentioning of Shikkotsurin..I don't think they'll be in vain.

As for Tsunade, well, she could do it SM fashionably, however, she uses it to maintain her youth. As we've saw, Sakura does use her chakra similar to SM capabilities. So who knows?!

But Shikkotsurin for sure will be brought back. Damp Bone forest/Wet bone forest.

It's all about humidity and the environment mention highly matches the environment the Slugs live.

So I still do believe we will see Sakura using SM. Dunno why, I have this feeling.

As long as it's implied that Sakura was not able to spam her titan strength without creating the seal I'll be satisfied.

 

Either the seal increasing her power or the seal increasing her stamina I'll be fine with either. I just don't like the idea that in a scenario where Sakura had never learned the Byakugo seal that she would be able from the very beginning to unleash that insane power multiple times with no consequence.

 

If it's something similar to having drawbacks like with the rasenshuriken and that only doing further training (with Naruto is sage mode and with Sakura is the byakugo seal) would allow it's usage to be acceptable then that's ok.

That's why I brought you the example back in Part 1. 

Sakura did it perfectly - the chakra tree climbing, however, she got fatigued really fast. So, yes, she might have been able to punch the hell out of some enemies, but for what use if she'd ran out of chakra quickly and she wouldn't be able to fight, nor do her duties as a medic nin?

Sakura could theoretically acquire both Byakugou and SM. If she did it would make her a force to be reckoned with. I wonder what exclusive perks the Slug Sage Mode would offer. FSM allowed Naruto to use Frog Katas and Snake senjutsu evidently focused on transmutation of the natural environment to the user's will and enhanced perceptual sensory in order to protect themselves whilst increasing the accuracy of their techniques. Aside from natural regenerative abilities it may provide Sakura with an immunity to most pathological afflictions and the ability to degenerate the health conditions of other people, similar to Mei's acid mist technique.

 

A few possible perks to make Slug Sage Mode unique. If it indeed exists, that is.

Could be that the Sakura's byakugou is requisite for the SM? Since we know that having the SM you must have a great amount of chakra.

Well, if we go by what Katsuyu has shown, maybe some offensive ninjutsu similar to Karsuyu's acid, as well as some very high durability. We saw Katsuyu cushioning people in Pein Arc, while resisting full-powered Shinra Tensei + Naruto's corrosive chakra up to 9 tails.

And now that I think...Katsuyu is mainly white colored...Sakura's seal has white in its name so maybe there would be a connection there?

Damn, this is literally the first time I find it hard to make a theory about what's to come.

I am thinking to make a FAQ regarding Sakura's newest acquired power, so to speak. Trying to answer every  confusion regarding everything.

So if you guys have questions, I'd gladly take them and try to explain them.

It's a sort of campaign I started on Tumblr as well since I saw people are really confused about her now. ^_^

According to the story there are three steps you need to gain it.

1.) Gain Training from either Myobukuzan(Toad), Ryuchido(Snake), or Shikkotsurin(Slug is higly likely)

2.) Large amounts of Chakra

3.) Great Chakra Control to mould in Natural Energy

 

To me it seems like having her store 3 years worth her chakra was a set-up for 2.).

1.) If the other two are Toad, Snake, then it's highly unlikely that the third place won't be for slugs. 

 

So, if she can use it, why not make her use it?

I think when she releases the seal, the diamond on her forehead will disappear, instead the Haruno clan mark taking it's place on her forehead.

I would think of holding off a FAQ on Sakuras seal for now because we still do not know much about it, but it would be nice to see so that people will stop calling it Yin seal!

None of their BYAKUGOU mean fine white hair, that is Buddhas third eye which both their seal is an allusion of :)

As I said before the seal makes it possible for her to do those techniques because of her large chakra reserve - bug when would she release slug sage mode? I doubt she has it learned right now, but she would be able to pick it up very quickly

In the mythology Kishi likes to use I can explain a bit about slug magic, but it's hard because I do not have full text with me. Tsunade in myth had to learn to walk on water and air before learning slug magic, and after that it is used to take down snakes because toads can't beat snakes, slugs beat snake with their mucus poison
