I don't know.... But you're right, posts are missing. A post I made this a.m. on the Gaara Hiden thread is gone. Will check it out. Weird.

 

edit: Some questions: did it happen in a certain window of time? Like you posted between 8 and 10 a.m. and now the post is gone? And did you actually see it on the board, then later it was gone? Or did it never post right at all? Also, how many people is this happening to? Just a couple, or a lot?

As far as I know, ALL the posts that were written b/w 7am-10am (I'm estimating, I'm not completely sure) are deleted. Any lasts post that were written before or after that time period are still there. I saw all the posts and pms initially that I wrote in that time frame, but after no one was able to access the site for I suppose half an hour, these posts were gone. When I tried to log onto the site, it said "SQL server" something (I remember this happened once in December, but none of the posts were deleted then). Every thread that was updated b/w 7am-10am does not have the posts anymore that were written in that time period.

What @trang said @tricksie  and yeah I saw them to they were posted correctly no errors or such things and it seems that the time window is 3h . This is happening to literary every member in here but  this issue exist also with the PM's not just the posts in the thread  the people who PM'ed me today their messages "PM's" are all gone now  .

I had something similar happen to me this morning. I have contacted Smiter about it. This is his area of expertise, so as soon as we know something we will let you know.

"it seems that it might be the SQL server having another hiccup again. Whenever something like that happens, it's because the host have been tinkering with that server or repairing it."

Smiter indicated he will look deeper into this weekend when he has a bit more spare time. In the meantime, if these issues (or similar ones) keep cropping up, please let us know.

I post here and there around 9 -10 pm last night, and log off for a while from the forum, and when I want to come back to the page, suddenly it crashed and I can't open it again, so I wait until now and thank god I can access to the forum once again, but to my shocked some of the post I made disappeared. Does it related or something?

MODS Why is when I try to save a PM message on my email  it only saves a part of it but not the whole thing , like it saves only couple of pages from that PM lets say 16 out of 31 pages the rest  are missing !? Thanks XD .

If I'm not mistaken, the forum-based library is not accessible at the present time.  I remember Smiter announcing that the library software was no longer compatible with the new forum software, and the library would be offline until he could find new software to house it.

Yes, that's correct. Smiter was never able to find a way to create a library that did not result in everything that was already there being lost.

 

However, I think they are asking for specific forum sections that are not visible without specific permission from us.

Hmm, that's weird.  I'll investigate that issue, see if I can find out anything.  It might be some sort of limitation that I can't override, but I will look.

About the Library, it's true that I had to abandon the old one because it was incompatible with newer versions of IPB and was holding the rest of the site back.  Since then, I've been looking for a replacement.  Unfortunately, so far I can only find sites that don't share their software or projects that are in never-ending development.  But as soon as I see anything promising, I will take a look at it!

Oh I see Ok then Thanks  just let me know when you figure it out  .  

 

P.S  Have you tried asking for narutoforums.com smiley/emoticon system if they're willing to share !? Bc most of the people even in here pick up smiles from there  so maybe if its not a problem or demanding  they can share it and let you implement some in here .
