anyway...I do think it would be natural after this battle for the fast-paced action to die down a bit for a moment of "rest" both literally but also in terms of writing rhythm. Then it will pick up again one more time to close-out the series!

But seriously, I do think we will get a break and start a new phase/arc. If kages doesn't show up in this battle, then we must take a break to let everyone know what happened to them. Plus, Naruto is no longer 100% to fight Sasuke. He needs a break and to me, it will start to happen.

Yeah, there will definitely be a break after the battle. One thing that came to my mind if another event occurs directly after the battle without any break, is that what about the alliance. They won't be present in the Naruto vs Sasuke fight. They won't disappear all of a sudden, not to mention they're extremely tired and exhausted. That at least, tells that there will be a break.

That's true. Like I said, if we don't get kages in the battle, then there will be a break. Imagine if they kept going:

It will be the most awkward feeling I ever have in a manga. Doubt it will happen at all. I believe once Sasuke is save, everything good will come in like a wildfire. I doubt it will be bumpy road like:

Sasuke is good!: that's good
Sakura left me for him: that's bad
Kakashi approves me as a great honor student: that's good
Kakashi dies from something (can't think ): that's bad
I can be Hokage!: that's good
But they won't allow me: that's bad
I decided to love Hinata to replace my sadness: that's good...or maybe that's bad...

There's also plenty of other reasons why there should be a break. My guess is, the alliance will probably be able to draw out the fight until dawn. No moon, plan a no-go. During that time, the Alliance will have time to mourn over the loss of one of their Kages from a noble act of saving her fellow Kages. It would also help bring the focus back on other characters, particularly Kakashi. Now that he has some downtime, he'll be able to let the fact of Obito turning evil sink in. Right now is the most pivotal moment for Kakashi's development.

Yeah, you're right. I think we get back to the fight, we will spend a volume of it before going to break. After all, it should be those boss battle (Pain, Kabuto, etc).

A break so soon seems unlikely to me ... why would Obito and Madara want to give the Alliance any break at all ? It is to their advantage to keep the fight going without any breaks , especially since Madara and the Juubi have unlimited chakra , while the Alliance ninja do not .

Something will happen. To me, I believe Obito will be done soon. Then Madara will go head on to destroy everyone in there. Then Sasuke and others will show up. Something happens and after all that, there will be a break. Naruto is not 100%. Do you really want a head on battle to battle to battle? I don't. We all want a cooldown and this will be it. Not to mention it's night time, so I can imagine that they will resume once dawn arrives once more. But this is my prediction. My point is that we will get a break. Unless senzou bean exist.

Oh I know. I just know we will get a break. Will it be after the war or during it? It's hard to say. It all depends on what Sasuke would do. Madara seems to be reserve for Sasuke when you really recount everything as Obito is for Naruto.

I could maybe see a possibly short break once the heroes beat Madara and Obito... but that's only if Sasuke doesn't join the fray.

Can't really imagine a break right now. The closest thing we have to a break is is this Sasuke min-arc that interupted the fight with the alliance and that's for us, not the characters (Well, except Sasuke). So far, it seems fast-paced. It's either win or lose at this point, no sudden breaks. What causes me is to think this way is that Kishimoto called the Obito reveal "climax." Climax is towards the end. So yeah: Constant fighting until one side loses, one side being Madara and Obito. The fight seems almost about done anyways, it's getting closer to the finishing line. If there is any breaks, it's when the War Arc is done and finished. The Alliance will get no leeway until they finish Obidara off.

I just realized this, but in the naruto timeline it's possible the manga could end within a couple of days war arc.
Yeah, probably not going to happen, but just the possibility is frightening
