Maybe because she's resistant to Uchiha clan genjutsu... She was completely resistant to Itachi's when even Kakashi, despite all his efforts started to fall under it again during the search for Gaara arc. Sakura even looked right at Itachi and didn't fall under the genjutsu. Her resistance is likely tied in with her second inner self- as we saw when she threw off Ino's possession with it. Ino, who had known Sakura since they were 6 years old did not know of this secret second self, and that was the first time Sakura had used her inner second self as a defensive genjutsu to free herself.
Soon after we see there's something natural inside Sakura that can fend off a mental attack- when Kabuto casts the sleep jutsu on the audience, Sakura is still completely alert when nearly everyone else (including Ino) falls under it. Kakashi and Gai and the others had to do the kai seal to break it. Sakura is preoccupied by how dangerous the Gaara and Sasuke fight had become, and looks around to see everyone around her has suddenly fallen asleep- this, several seconds after Kakashi, Gai and the others have made the seal to break the sleep jutsu. Only then does Sakura make the kai seal. Kakashi comments on how he was glad he had taught Sakura the kai seal when he noticed she was still awake, but apparently missed (well, the attack had started so he did get a bit distracted) Sakura had been sitting there completely unaffected before she even made the kai seal. However, Kakashi did remark way back in early part 1 that Sakura was a "genjutsu (talent) type." He remarks on this being the natural talent nature of Sakura in the first arc of part 2 during the second bell test.

What an interesting fanfic. I've been browsing for some good MinaKushi fics lately but not all of them are that great and the really good ones are unfinished. Where can I go to find it?

No, in the manga she does look at Itachi''s hands after Kakashi warns her not to, but is never in the least affected and she frees Naruto from the genjutsu too. That's why I speculated this may be Kishimoto's way of making up for running out of time to do the promised Sakura arc in the manga- have her be the crucial person in this movie that breaks Tobi Madara's genjutsu because she is able fight it off from influencing her- that's why she looks the same but looks anxious (the lowered eyebrows and the narrow lips as if she's biting them with worry and concentration. Minato's the only other person who's expression echoes Sakura's- he also looks anxious and aware something isn't right. Oh wow, can you imagine an alliance of Sakura and Minato to break the genjutsu... I would be really excited if that was the plotline, since Sakura and Minato have a similar type intelligence. And we might finally hear about the Haruno ninja clan's history.
Kakashi knew Sakura was a genjutsu type talent from the start, Kishimoto has never answered how- when Sakura joined Team 7 she had never shown any hint of a genjutsu ability- in fact she falls under Kakashi's genjutsu. Kishimoto has been revealing lots of information lately about ninja clans, including of members of Team Hebi/Taka. But Sakura's Haruno clan is still a mystery, but Sakura's secret second self is almost certainly the key to that mystery (in manga canon no one else possesses this ability- in fact Ino is completely shocked by it's existence, and calls Sakura's ability to throw off her possession impossible.) And if she is strong enough to stand up to even Tobi Madara's genjutsu that will make her a major player. That's why I think if Kishimoto does go with this kind of plotline Sakura's family history as ninja might also be revealed.
Wonder if some hint about Minato's mysterious Namikaze clan might be revealed in the movie too...

itachi didnt do his genjutsu on her OR chiyo he did it to naruto only.
he can only do one person at a time (can he do more??) and he chose naruto.
she has to first be in the genjutsu to dispel it.

Itachi can do more than one person at a time (he puts both Naruto and attempts to do Kakashi while Naruto was still under it in that very chapter), that's why Kakashi warned them all Itachi was different, very powerful at genjutsu and could use his hands as well as his eyes and affect multiple people. In the part 1 fight Itachi counters Kurenai's attempt at genjutsu with his own at the same time he has Kakashi in a genjutsu. It's hinted that even Sasuke can in part 2 genjutsu more than one person at a time and his ability is far less than Itachi's.
And no, it's stated and shown right in the chapter that an unaffected person can break an Uchiha genjutsu. Sakura breaks it for Naruto. Take a look at the chapter again... I just reread it myself this past week....

I said "unaffected" meaning not under the genjutsu and you just restated it there that she wasn't in the genjutsu, when before my reply you said you thought a person had to be "in the genjutsu to break it."

I guess I have to say it- please go reread the chapters (and the ones in part 1 as well, the part 1 fight with Sasuke and Jiraiya arc as well as the fight with Kakashi, Asuma, Kurenai and Gai.)

no thanks....im good.. I already read them a couple of times.

anyway......i was just saying she didnt do anything regarding itachi's battle that suggested she was good at genjutsu(getting out of them, not being affected by them)
cause she wasnt in one to begin with.
all she did was help naruto get out of his, which judging how chiyo also did it wasnt anything new.....
dont get me wrong! i know sakura's good at it! with inner sakura and her other moments.....and im sure if this movie had her in a genjutsu she would be able to help naruto.

Actually ciardha is quite correct. Sakura broke it along with Chyio, then it led to the hand/face scene that caused a adorable NS moment.

it would be very cool to have a Sakura centered movie for a change, but I was pretty much just thinking how funny it would be if Naruto was in Sakura's body, and like...checked out her ass or something..

I REALLY hope sometime in the Manga...before it ends..Sakura gets more of a backstory..

I'm making a small leap of conjecture of course, but the evidence is there in the manga. Other than her taijutsu moments, Kishimoto tends to play it much more subtle with Sakura's developments than with Naruto's- you have to pay attention to what he shows and sometimes put it together like a puzzle. He drops hints though.
Kishimoto doesn't randomly drop in a specific description of a person's ninja nature for no reason- and he's at least twice mentioned that Sakura natural ninja nature is a genjutsu type (and in part 2 the way it is phrased by Kakashi leads toward an implication that Kakashi thinks it likely Tsunade has trained Sakura in that skill as well.). What I think some readers forget is genjutsu isn't just an Uchiha skill, nor is it just of the type of genjutsu used by the Uchiha or Kakashi. Plus the characteristic of ninja techniques in Naruto's world is for a skill there is a counter skill. (and that isn't the dismissal seal, but something on a comparable level)
Sakura's inner second self was shown in the fight with Ino to have a trainable defensive action against a mental based attack and she does manifest that self in a similar way to how the Uchiha manifest a mental image of themselves in others minds, Sakura does it in her own. And in part 1 not long after the fight with Ino we see she even has some sort of natural mental defense that can kick in without Sakura even consciously activating- when she is shown to be unaffected by Kabuto's sleep jutsu. She releases it, because she was taught to, but it appears she might not have even had to.
Then in the first arc of part 2, again Sakura's natural genjutsu ninja nature is specifically mentioned by Kakashi, then a few chapters later we see "inner Sakura" for the last time (so far) in manga canon. Then a few chapters later comes the encounter with Itachi, and how, despite the fact Sakura does look at Itachi's hands, after Kakashi specifically warns no one to, she does not fall under Itachi's genjutsu while Naruto does and Kakashi starts to and has to fighting himself free of it. Her trained defensive barrier from a natural skill is subtly hinted at by Kishimoto. (Just like he only subtly showed her primary nature element- water. Sakura charges it with her chakra and manipulates it with intense precision when she removes the poison from Kankuro's body.)

yeah, I LOVED those dispeling moments when she used a genjutsu, and it was really cool that Kabuto's genjutsu seemed to have no effect on her.
