No Silver Spoon for a month, huh? rawr.gif

Oh well, nice of Arakawa to end with less-than gripping cliffhanger than she usually does. XD

...I forgot, there's an anime. It'll be exciting to catch that! w00t.gif

But are you EXCITED for the anime Kage Smiter? wow.png

Yes, but it's a pity that they won't be airing it until July! It would have helped ease our pain of waiting for the new Silver Spoon next month. XD;

I just had to share this.

It's too good to pass up. If I was Arakawa, I'd keep it real safe for posterity.

New chapter out: http://www.mangaread...lver-spoon/67/2

It's an side story about Hachiken ancestor, and I love it! Especially the ending.

So cute and the ending was great.

I really like the real-life side of this manga. I've seen a show about the Ainu people and culture. Very interesting. They are the native peoples of Japan, and they look more like the Russian or even Inuit than Japanese. They were discriminated against for a long time, but there is a movement now to preserve their culture.

It's fantastic to see Silver Spoon back, and the side story was great. biggrin.gif

So, that side story... --Click here to view--

Who would have thought that the "killer eyes" were just caused by severe squinting due to myopia? I wonder what would happen if Hachiken's father got glasses..? tongue.gif

Hachiken and his ancestor have a couple of parallels, they both ran away from oppression, and neither thought they were suited for agriculture. Ah, if only little Hachiken knew what would happen to him in later years... tongue.gif

It was interesting to read about the Ainu, and it's always sad to hear about people and their cultures being discriminated against. I recently visited Norway, and there was an interesting exhibition about the Sami people. Like the Ainu, the Sami were persecuted and there is now a movement to preserve their language, culture and rights.

Well, I definitely can't wait for the next chapter of Silver Spoon. smile.gif

New Chapter!

Silver Spoon 68

I'm rooting for you, Aki!

It was nice that she and Hachiken held hands when he gave her his support out in the fields. happy.gif I think Mikage's grandfather suspects her true feelings, as he really loves his horses and he knows she feels strongly about them. Her dad probably suspects as well, as he does worry about her. I know her family don't mean to pressurise her, but she must feel horrible having to deal with the expectations that she will stay in the family business.

Arakawa is flawless as usual:

The above shows everyone else getting high marks. EXCEPT for Aki. I gotta hand it to her for foreshadowing it that early.

Arakawa! Why u so awesome!

Also, "I WILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY!"

No wonder Aki's family went nuts.... Hachiken, you adorkable dude.... XD

We know Hachiken comes from a rich family, especially with his declaration, any of you guys think that Hachiken's family will come into play again, soon?

I know. XD I just love the dialogue through this chapter, not only did Arakawa write it well, the translation was great; it feels so natural.

We know how Hachiken wants to keep his distance from his family, and Mikage's family certainly would not want any charity on their part. Hachiken and Mikage will want to get through it themselves.

Heh, the tutoring reminds me a little of Love Hina. Of course, the chances of Hachiken ending up in ecchi situations with several girls are infinitesimal. tongue.gif

Yeah, Silver Spoon always brightens up my day too. biggrin.gif

I laughed at Pg 13 too. XD But it's great to see that Hachiken has learnt to prioritise things and know when to say no.

Hachiken's a damn good teacher so far. I wonder if that will be his calling in life?

Hopefully we will see Komaba back soon. smile.gif Maybe he might even get a job at the school.
