I think I haven't, before this, commented about Narutos abilities. Many have fantasized about Naruto learning Mokuton ninjutsu, in the meantime I see the Senju blood coming out in Narutos ability in Fuuton ninjutsu, like Nidaimes control over Suiton. It was said somewhere that Senju clan had close relationship with nature and this has been seen in Nidaimes and Shodaimes strong affinities towards Suiton and Doton. In the meantime I see Sasukes affinities in Raiton and Katon representing Uchiha clan and their obsession of power(Lacked linquistic skills to present myself more clearly...).
Trust me, I'm an engineer!

At first I hoped that Sakura wasn't from a clan because if it was true then most likely the sasusaku fans would argue that **sarcasm** since those two are from clans then they are destined to be together forever and ever. **sarcasm** But I don't have that concern since the Uzumaki clan is just a clan with sealing jutsu specialist and no kekkei genkai or secret jutsu. It could be possible for Sakura's mother to come from a clan (called the Haruno clan) with genjutsu specialist and no kekkei genkai or secret jutsu from the same village as Kushina.

Sealing jutsu is a secret jutsu especially the Uzumaki clan. They were the only one's who possessed such high level one of a kind sealing jutsu.

QUOTE
Then that would make even more narusaku parallels such as:

1. Naruto's and Sakura's mothers would both be from the same village of origin.

2. Both of there mother's would be from a unique clan.

3. Both Naruto and Sakura would have the maiden names of there mothers.

The name of the hidden village Kushina is from is Uzushiogakure, meaning only the Uzumaki clan is from there. I don't know about the Haruno clan being special but it is likely 3rd Hokage or Minato who wanted Naruto to go by his mother's maiden name for extra protection from other villages finding out he is Yondaime's son.

QUOTE
And who knows? Maybe Minato is related to the first or second hokage some how and Naruto could inherit wood style jutsu. The possibilities are just endless. Sorry if the last sentence doesn't make sense. Just exploring possibilities and all that stuff.

Minato could be but Kishi will need to show us more proof (fingers crossed on Minato gaiden arc). Well Naruto did use a powerful Mokuton sealing justsu (wooden log pillars) to seal the Kyuubi.

No, it only means the Uzumaki clan was the dominant clan of the village and they weren't too terribly inventive when it came to naming their village. laugh.gif Not very well thought out laugh.gif - couldn't be terribly well hidden when you name your village after your dominant clan and they are pretty well known in the ninja world up till the time the village was destroyed. A village is made up of numerous clans, plus a substantial civilian population as well- someone has to be the carpenters, shop owners, farmers, etc...

It's likely the lions share of the refugees did attempt to make it to Konoha- being they were strong allies and the leaders were linked through family too. So there has to be Whirlpool refugees and their descendants in Konoha. Hey, wonder if Tenuchi came from Whirlpool- it would explain his lack of discomfort about Naruto, when most of the adult villagers stared at him with hatred and fear. Tenuchi heard the last name Uzumaki and that's all he needed to know...

I may have a theory but I think that Teuchi must've recognize Naruto through Kushina, (I bet she goes there too when she was younger, or did I get the wrong facts that she loves ramen as well... I have to recheck her profile)...

...

Just checked: she does love ramen, salt ramen to be exact. So I guess Ichiraku was around back in the day, and Teuchi when he was a young adult knows Kushina as a regular customer.

Yes, the Uzumaki clan were the ones who were best at the sealing jutsus- but Minato did learn it, so it was a teachable thing. From what Kushina said it sounds like Ushio ninja of all clans learned those sealing jutsus but the Uzumaki clan was the most skilled due to their unique clan chakra skills.

Just because sealing jutsu is able to be taught it's probable that they don't teach it to just everyone. From the way it sounds if you were a trusted or high ranking official (Or Hokage) that you would be able to learn it without their chakra. Minato and Hashirama aren't exactly normal shinobi themselves and the clan doesn't exactly scream, "Let's teach everyone our special sealing techniques!"

Terumi Mei- the Mizukage, is even more likely a cousin for the same reason- there's a slight resemblance between Kushina and Terumi and they both had/have extremely long straight red hair. It's somewhat likely there's a Uzumaki in her family line (her mother, perhaps).

Considering her facial resemblance to the Uchiha, Karin could be the result of a rogue Uchiha having a relationship with an Uzumaki that went to Grass country.

I've read two different one FF shots by the same author that start with these precise premises (Karin as a cousin, Mei as an aunt) and I thought they handled the situation well enough.

I wonder if Minato or the 3rd were the ones that incorporated the Whirlpool emblem into the leaf village's symbols. I also wonder how Itachi came to know of Naruto's existence. Via his mother or via Madara? I'd bet the former which plays into the theory of what power did he grant Naruto.

Uh, finding out about the past changes the future, that's played out throughout the whole manga. As the saying goes- "those that don't know history are doomed to repeat it."

I've loved these chapters about Minato, Kushina, Hashirama Senju and Mito Uzumaki, learning these things answers questions left hanging since the beginning of the manga. Now, Sasuke's story has been rehashed too many times, and we know all we ever need to know about the Hyuuga clan (except for clearing up their connection to the Uchiha) but Naruto's family past and the history of the countries had been mostly untouched until well into part 2.

Also, this is finally the main character's history we're learning about, not Sasuke, usurper of the main storyline! laugh.gif
And, like someone mentioned before, finding out how Itachi knew of Naruto, through Madara or her mom, could potentially change or explain what exactly did Itachi give Naruto and possibly hidden motives aside from just stopping Sasuke. Besides, Kushina and Minato are both very interesting characters, learning about their past is important to Naruto and might help guide his path to ending the hatred in the ninja world. That is what I think of when they show the past.

I agree and I don't know why there are people getting bore with the latest chapters of the manga? These flashback chapters are very important and necssary for the reader to understand the story and the concept of the manga. Not to mention that Kishi is doing a lot of character development on Naruto the main protagonist after finally finishing with Sasuke (and killing the fact that the manga should be named Sasuke and the anime Sasuke shippuden dry.gif). Also I believe it was last year's interview that Kishi said that focusing on Naruto's character development will have to wait, now he's finally focusing on him. Everyone should be happy that he's finally showing to us the night of Naruto's birth and the Kyuubi's attack on Konoha.

Ohhhhhhhh, I think I've found the source of you're confusion.

When you refer to there sealing jutsu do you mean:

As in secret techniques being taught and passed down through generations of a clan

or

As in there sealing jutsu being "secretive" as you say.

And it's a possibility that the Haruno clan could be a clan with exceptional genjutsu abilities and chakra control like how the Uzumaki clan are were well known for there sealing jutsu abilities and there special chakra. Speaking of chakra, did Naruto inherit his enormous amounts of chakra reserves from Minato, Kushina, or the Nine-Tailed-Fox when he was born.

You know what i'm wondering, Why exactly Kishimoto, added the part of the Uzumaki clan having long live, the Sealing skills are self explanitory, but the long lives, Was it just to explain why there has only been one Jinchiruki for so long, or why Tsunade after releasing the seal on her forehead is still alive and kicking, it would have killed a normal human but being part Uzumaki she has a longer life expentency? Or is there something more to it?

Not long for spoiler hopefully, i'm predicting, Minato saving his son and Madara using the distraction to mess up the seal and release the Kyuubi and going on a rampage, then whilst Kushina and Minato make arrangements to seal the Kyuubi inseide their son, Madara lets Kyuubi loose on the Village, We'll see the remaining Team Minato and finally find out the fate of Rin, We'll also find out why the Uchiha were distrusted so much afterwards, (If the third and the two council members knew about the Kyuubi being sealed inside Kushina, why were they weary of the clan afterwards? They'd just assume it was because something went wrong at Childbirth, unless Minato told them about the masked individual.)

Then back to present Day, mother and son say their tearful goodbyes and Kushina will do something on his head which will unlock all the information his parents had on sealing and their jutsu's.

Minato and Kushina when he was born, Kyuubi when it was sealed in him. This is why Naruto's reserves are so enormous, both parents had larger than normal reserves then he got the Kyuubi's on top of that.
