i understand people wanted db to end after frieza but c'mon. after cell, everything concluded. both goku and vegeta's sons surpassed in ther respectful times and became their protectors.

I think piccolo still has some relevancy.

It's kind of hard to seperate goku with dragonball. Kind of like luffy with onepiece.
I think they could make a spin off for the other characters.
A big name like db must be easier for it.

Didn't fans want more Goku, which resulted Toriyama to change focus and put him back or was it the editors...? It's like WWE giving up with a new star and go back to Cena...

Yeah, he already did that.
It would be better if he just end db and make sequel with different protagonist. I don't know if it will work at that time.

Didn't read everything in that thread about what would you do to improve part 2 at NF. There's so many to do yet one guy got upset and told them to not make it fanfic. Here's the problem: part 2 is bad. You can't really improve it and expected to be great if you don't change something. Improving it is like fixing something what's there and adjust it to be acceptable. Changing it is a overhaul tactic in order to improve (ironic) its overall.

Part 2 needs to change, not a small adjustment. It won't cut it.

i never liked the idea of super. db already ended ffs its ridiculous, i hate how they catered to nostalgia, intoducing gods of gods of gods, reviving frieza for nostalgia (which was a bad movie btw)

Forget all of that... I left Naruto alone to go back to my most loved series... Dragon Ball! It actually help me get over NS not happening. I'm absolutely enjoying Super, and the movies. It helped push everything Naruto out of my life. Plus people seem like they want to complain about Super, and for dumb stuff. The animation, because of episode 5(fixed on Blu-ray), pacing in BOG arc(that only last 9 of the first 14 episodes), and plot holes(that went against their own head canon, and not against actual main canon). I love Dragon Ball, and addition to it, makes it much better for me.

 

All I got to say to you guys is wait for U6 arc. The series will be incredible.

@Catra Though RF had some errors in lines, it was an awesome action packed movie, and I enjoyed it. I also enjoyed BOG, for it lighthearted moments, that reminded me of early Dragon Ball.

good for you. i just wish they went for bigger things instead of falling back to a show that already ended in the mid 90's. for me, a spin off of the humans would have sufficed. a what-if, anything but more super saiyans plz k thx.

 

after i left naruto i went back to DC heroes, star wars, a little of avatar, and some new shows like gravity falls and star vs the forces of evil.

 

meanwhile with dragonball z, i wouldn't re watch most of it. bits and pieces maybe.buu saga's a hell no. i think i'd rewatch the ocean dubs saiyan saga and tree of might.

The Dragonball series mishandles their characters even worse than Naruto does in some respects. With the exception of Vegeta who appears to have been given immunity to this trait for whatever reason, the cast of characters are discarded after an arc or two's worth of nominal significance. Rather than kill them off to instill some kind of worth or context to their existence so they could at least be utilised in some way, they're constantly revived using the plot device known as the Dragonballs. You're left with a swollen list of characters who have no intrinsic purpose to fulfill besides occupy the background and stroke the egos of the villains or Goku/Vegeta. I can't tell you how much I've grown to despise DB for this. Part of me wishes for the anime to fail so that Toei can understand that they need to innovate their franchise rather than stick to tired old formulas.

From what I've heard the ratings for Super are great despite retelling BoG and RoF. So I can't see them changing the formula if it is still bringing in a profit

It is doing good at ratings. Just don't apply to quality, so basically, make it crap and they will still buy.
