All this Choujiro backstory would have been nicer to see before he died, but I guess that's not really Kubo's style. Kinda funny seeing young Yama though. tongue.gif

Also, I liked that Choujiro's Bankai was lightning based, since it doesn't retcon the anime fillers. The manifested Gyonryomaru was given lightning powers in the Zanpakutou Unknown Tales filler arc, so I'm guessing Kubo either designed that character's power, or he just used the anime as inspiration there. Personally, I really didn't like that arc, but it's nice to see mangaka at least show some awareness of their respective animes.

knew there was going to be a parallel with Driscoll and Kenpachi to hype Yamaji and BB. It's just odd seeing Kenpachi off paneled after his power was explained in the recent novel.

So why did the old man bring out his Bankai knowing the opponants actually want that so they can steal it? didn't he just guaerentee with loss by doing that?

His Bankai is.... practically as overpowered as Aizen's powers, it's godly. Honestly, I don't understand why he didn't use it against Aizen, unless he just underestimated him.

If I recall correctly, it was because his zanpakutou's powers were being negated by Wonderweiss' Extinguir. Aizen must have had an idea of how powerful Yama's Bankai was, considering he created an Arrancar for the sole purpose of of dealing with it.

I am curious how that fight would have gone down though.

Anyone thought of Yamaji representing the sun and Ichigo as the moon? When the sun goes down the moon will rise and take his place.

So in addition to being a Shinigami, a Hollow and a Fullbringer, Ichigo is now apparently a Quincy as well. I'm pretty sure a lot of people have raged about this already, but I find myself okay with this. I'm interested enough to want to know how this is possible. Maybe Ichigo's mother was a Quincy as well. Either way, I'll be paying attention to the next chapters to come.

Ichigo will find out that he's a science experiment, cloned from someone. Perhaps Rukia's old captain?
