I think it's too soon for the forehead kiss. if he does that, all other pairings that involve Naruto and Sakura will wither away. LMAO I'd die of laughter at the response but fanboy like mad if it happened.

these two things have almost zero chance of happening, the only girl (besides his teamate Sakura) in the entire manga Sasuke has acted in a positive way is Karin, whether you like the pairing or not.

 

SasuHina has less chance of happening than SasuSaku or NaruHina and since those pairings have virtually zero chance, the percentage chance SasuHina is a very small number indeed

It's definitely too soon for a forehead kiss. LOL. They've gotten back into fighting mode. I don't foresee any personal interactions like that until after the fight, though I wouldn't complain if that's what we got.

 

I'm actually bracing myself for the last of SasuSaku. I feel that they're going to get a final "moment" that will stir up the fandom, and it will likely happen sooner than later. Karin isn't there yet, so this would be the opportune time for something SS related. It will undoubtedly be refuted by either NaruSaku or SasuKarin later on, but the initial blow is still going to suck, (hopefully not as badly as 615 did.)

The good news is that, from that point on, it's nothing but smooth sailing for NaruSaku, (if things go how I expect them to. )

 

I'm actually hoping that the next chapter focuses less on pairings and more on Sakura's development. I don't want everything she does to be tied to either Naruto or Sasuke. I just want to see her kick ass without an outside party helping.

I actually see a small SS moment happening but nothing that'll throw us off. It'll likely be something showing what we already know which revolves around Sakura>Sasuke. Hopefully her power up either comes at the beginning or the end of the chapter. Kishi might just break the chapter into parts. One revolving around Obito and Kakashi and then a piece for the alliance though I'd fully want the latter at this point. 

 

When I think about it though, it'd be funny if Kishi just said screw giving SS a bone and not even giving them a moment. I'd laugh...

I just hope that whatever "SS" fanservice we get doesn't make Sakura look bad, I want people to see her the way we see her. As someone who knows where she has been wrong before, and try to make amends, She isn't jumping into Sasuke arms, I want to see her respectfully let him go, and let go of her own feelings that he will never return.

I sorta agree. The only way I see SasuHina happening is if Sasuke decides that he loves Hinata after he is redeemed. Maybe Kishi will have him be attracted to the shy type or something. However, he will most likely end up with no one.

I think it will be wrong for Kishi for not doing one SS moment. Granted I would like that but that would be one messed up thing. I mean anime showed no mercy in current timeline, so Kishi could at least do one small moment. The problem I see is that if this is the last volume of the battle, I feel like SS won't get their big moment, rather just happen. I don't know but while it can still happen, Kishi missed the ball in this chapter.

Come to think of it, Kishi showed no mercy in the movie as well. I mean he managed to pull a bad side of SS as well as have no follow-up in that movie, like "Oh that Sasuke was a jerk. I would prefer our world" or "We will get the real Sasuke back. That's the truth," or heck, don't show that scene at all. Is he trying to tell me that we should hate it? I admit, that's messed up. If he made that movie for intro to newcomers, he sure did a bad job for SS.

Anyway, do I expect SS soon? Sure, but if it doesn't happen, well I'll be honest, I don't know how to react. What if this chapter was it? Can't say because the follow-up within the chapter was misfired when Naruto stole the spotlight about Hokage as well as Sakura talking to Naruto about not being in line with them. That's...bad.

As long as Sasuke doesn't suddenly gain romantic feelings for Sakura, I'll be fine. But right now, I'm more excited about a powerup for Sakura than a NS moment. Though I won't complain if we got both at the same time. 

 

@NaruSaku4Life3g Yeah I really wouldn't be surprised if SS doesn't end up getting a "big moment." Kishi has been merciless when it comes to SasuSaku (just look at RtN), so hoping for a big SS miracle may be wishful thinking. But just look at NS, man. The past three chapters or so have highlighted the bond between Naruto and Sakura. I almost feel selfish asking for more.

Eh... I'm not a fan of that scenario. It makes a mockery of Karin, as it suggests that she's just as bad as a 12 year old fan girl, (which she's not - she was one of the only ones to actually treat Sasuke like a person rather than a trophy), and it makes it sound like Sakura has been that way up until recently, which isn't true.

 

I'd prefer to see Sakura and Karin work together, independently from Naruto and Sasuke. But, if Sakura is going to take note of the way that Karin interacts with Sasuke, I want her to witness a more admirable moment of Karin's. One where she stands her ground, rather than crawling all over him.

You know it's funny, when we saw Karin in 574, her part with Sasuke wasn't negative as Sakura in 540. Like Karin pretty much acted herself, loving him yet hating him for doing crap like that early. Sakura should have been like that. Well, minus constant loving turmoil. Karin is Juvia of Naruto, so I can see why she's like that. Sakura is a different character altogether. So what I'm trying to say is that you know how Neji didn't get a word in 573 indicates something, which turns out to be dead ( ). Well, what is the result for 540? Hm...

I don't really know what to expect.  In all honesty, after #631 I haven't been able to imagine a scenario where Sakura's remaining feelings for Sasuke -- whatever they are -- could even give the temporary appearance of threatening where she's at with Naruto.

And I'm not saying that as a blind shipper.  I'm saying that as a reader who expects more complication regarding Sakura's old feelings for Sasuke.  I just can't see any way that it could be addressed that wouldn't seem like a clunky, implausible, backward step.

I mean, the events in #631 were a big deal.  Naruto pretty much put his intentions/feelings for Sakura out there.  Sasuke showed up and Sakura didn't react with hopeful, starry eyes.  Sasuke is unchanged, proving himself as cold, self-centered, and disconnected as ever.  Sasuke went on to announce his intention to subvert Naruto's dream of becoming Hokage -- a dream we know Sakura also holds close to her heart -- and Sakura didn't take his pronouncement any better than the other rookies.  

So where could a plausible SS moment fit in?

I suppose if Sasuke does something inadvertently noble again -- like against Haku when his "body moved on its own" and he saved Naruto's life (my pet theory) -- and Sakura has one last fantasy moment that he truly is a great guy if she's in love with him (*cue gagging sounds*) -- or something.  But still.  That really doesn't work.  Not in light of #631.

But something has to happen, right?  Because it's unlikely that Sakura would not revisit the conflict that has defined her relationship with the boys from the beginning.  I just can't see it.

 

And Karin is a wild card.  Her interaction with Sakura... back when Sakura healed her... hmm.

I think Kishi dropped the ball for SS in this chapter because to be honest, this was a great time to say sorry. In fact, he had enough time to do so. So why didn't he? He only responded her because she said his name in a confusing way because heck, can't you blame her. We last saw him as a crazy path, now in there probably about to attack, only to tell them that he will protect the village and become Hokage, even if people don't like it, he don't care about their decisions/feelings, which is why Naruto was alerted once he said that. Think as the confession. Naruto winning Sakura's love was so close until Sasuke part came in. For this, Naruto was close to have Sasuke back until he said that line.

 

Anyway, the problem with your last line is that Karin will be on Sasuke's side for the run to Hokage as Sakura most likely go with Naruto. Candidates' love interest fight? Plus, it seems Karin will be the one to pretty much scare all women away from Sasuke, so yeah, good luck with that. Anyway, point is that Karin and the rest of the team are going to side with Sasuke while Team 7 (and Konoha) is behind Naruto. Hm, I don't know Kishi will set this up, but it looks like a team vs. team may happen. Remember, Sasuke is a missing nin and we don't know what's his plan to get his credibility back.

I feel the exact same way   Personally, I feel that since Kishi should honestly try and make some amends to subtly start patching things up within Team 7 for the inevitable moment when the bonds are fully repaired, we may at least get Sasuke reacting to Sakura's real power, and perhaps even commenting on it - which is not a pairing moment in and of itself, but it'll be enough to get the fandom going and it'll be funny to see it happening, considering that Sasuke's already acknowledged another girl 300+ chapters ago and that's always been called 'meaningless' by the very same people who would party about this 

 

It's nothing to be concerned over though. Given that Naruto and Sasuke always address their own bond and deal with each other in a context that doesn't leave much room for Sakura to play a part, it's necessary for the Sasuke-Sakura part of Team 7 to be addressed in some other fashion, considering that's fairly strained in and of itself. IMO, of course.

@KnS. Exactly. I would love to just be done with SS, but like you said  her feelings for Sasuke have been important to the character's story line and progression. I don't even think SS shippers believe she will go back to her part one obsession, but I think it would be silly of to not anticipate something of SS nature from Sakura. Not necessarily a longing to be with him romantically, but she has to work through all the angst her Sasuke related feelings have caused her over the years. Though I dont think its absolutely necessary, I can see why some shippers need Sasuke to be reformed before they can fully accept her choice to date Naruto.

 

I know he supposedly doesn't think too hard about the romance, but I wouldnt be surprised if Kishi himself felt the same way. 

 

I remember a long time ago someone said that we should fully expect SS and NH to work themselves into the story before NS get to become endgame. I agreed with the sentiment back then, and I still feel the same way today.

No side shipping nonsense, I honestly felt like she was the most natural fit with him up until he sacrificed her, but I guess we are suppose to get over  that too so w.e
