It's ironic actually. I'm starting to feel like we're Naruto of the Naruto-verse and Kishi is like Sasuke. I have always thought the Naruto manga was great during my elementary to high school years. But the quality has been steadily declining and YET I defended his writing until two years ago. I really had hope he was going to get better. But now, all we get is disappointment after disappointment. We always thought things won't get worse, but he continues to exceed our already low expectations each time. And now, he's gotten to the point that even if his writing improves some chapters later, he's gone too far for me to even accept him as a decent writer. My friends ask me why I'm reading such a crap manga.....I really don't know.

Of course I don't care about Kishi nearly as close to Naruto or Sakura caring about Sasuke, but it does give us an inkling of what it's like to expect, wait patiently, only to be constantly disappointed time and again.

Note: Incase anyone's curious it's my take on Sakura's undying compassion towards Sasuke.

It's going to be more difficult ofcourse, but it's not impossible.

If Sakura thinks back to the kiss the forehead scene and admits that that is why she "loves" Sasuke or she admits that her love for Sasuke was never really love that might save her character to some extent. Otherwise Kishi has screwed her up big time. It's a pity too, her character had a ton of potential to work with.

 

Maybe Kishi had this popular girl that he liked in school but never got?

lol The reason why I don't think the bench scene will change anything, is that after Naruto-ke said that, he laughs and says that's something Naruto would say. Sakura gets disappointed, yaddayadda. She already knows that "Sasuke" didn't mean it. So, I don't understand why her finding out Naruto was that Sasuke would mean something? Especially since she already knew that was something Naruto would say?

 

I think the way NS becomes canon is probably going to be a lot less interesting, personally. Kishi is awful at writing romance and all that. One can hope, though!

It does remind me of MK though. In that romance when he complemented her hair Kushina immediately fell for him. Sakura has been Fanatically devoted to Sasuke, especially after that chapter. Maybe love bc of a few words is just how Kishi thinks?

Best thing we can hope for is either canonization over a time skip (which is cheap and lame, but better than an asspull in the current situation), or an opening ending (NS doesn't happen, but at least the others don't either). I'm not expecting any sudden realizations from Sakura, it's pretty clear it will take time (more than three years of not interacting with him at all, apparently) for her to move on from the idea of Sasuke she has in her head.

The worst part about this is this was probably Sakura's last chance to shine and show any development and Kishimoto ends it with the lowest of lows. She was knocked out so she would not interfere with the final bromantic fight. By the time she wakes up the final fight will be over or she won't be able to make it there before it is over. Then everyone will wake up from Infinite Tsukyomi and that's probably it for the manga. She can't show any character development any more. Maybe Naruto does or doesn't confess but either way she can't be made to look good from it. I think I am also disappointed since in the fight with Kaguya I was hoping she could show she is more the just a Tsunade clone. I wanted her to ether show her intelligence by coming up with a plan or showing an ability or technique that Tsunade never used. Instead she is a chakra battery and does a punch and that's it. My disappointment is really a result of too high expectations i suppose of Sakura showing herself being a real heroine. She does not even need to end up with Naruto.

And this is precisely the reason why I believe something unexpected will happen in the next chapters. Sakura can't be done yet.

One only needs to look at Kishimoto's previous chapters to understand this. Look at the way he the treated the likes of Zabuza, Nagato, Obito and Madara. Ultimately, he always makes his characters shine.

 

If he can't even find it in his heart to give a bad ending to criminals, its safe to assume he will not let his Heroine's story end this way. Pretty confident she will shine in the end, this chapter is just a set-back.

 

Ah mate there are things you misunderstood. First of all not take advantage of the girl, I said take advantage of the moment. Because that would tell the girl you're actually serious.

It doesn't matter if Naruto believes that Sakura loves Sasuke. Sasuke is away, show that so called love that you have for the girl. But of course Naruto doesn't because he doesn't love her, he loves Sasuke.

The simple fact of the matter is that Naruto hasn't show that love he has for Sakura.

If I were Naruto, I would give Sakura hints that I'm actually interested in her. Something that Naruto doesn't do because he can't save Sasuke.

If I were Sakura, I would've moved from Sasuke a long time ago. And wouldn't even bother with Naruto because his to busy chasing after his true love, instead of living a real life.

Naruto has happiness right in front of eyes and he's like "kitten it, I don't want that. Life for me can't exist without Sasuke."

That's why I said Sakura deserves better. Because even though Naruto supported her, makes her happy and all the other things, he doesn't love her on the same level he loves Sasuke. And this chapter along with every other chapter proves this.

Naruto's love for Sasuke is greater than his love for the woman he loves. That is a fact.

I agree with you on most of the points here but I just cannot agree with your point about Naruto not deserving Sakura.

I wanted to put my opinion of all this and latest chapter but I had to digest everything and wait for the fandom to calm down a bit, the forum is greatly contaminated by negativity and depression and in Chinese philosophy says you can not see clearly or think objectively when the water is so hectic, only calm makes water clear and you can see things clearly.
 

 

I reread the chapter on mangastream and really did not seem as tragic as many do see here in the first Sakura while acknowledging her feelings for Sasuke her attitude and intention is very different, their words are not intended a romantic confession are that of a woman that knows she never cared to Sasuke so she says "if there is little appreciation for me" also the last line is "if you come back we can be all together like before" clearly refers to team 7, her love for Sasuke no longer directed to a chance at a relationship is a desperate method to stop him from killing Naruto and everyone else, this love is something else, it's intense for her desperation to save him but her intentions are not romantic can you tell the difference between her words in this chapter and the 181, the 181 Sakura wants to return for be with him and not feel alone, this chapter wants to be back together as team 7.

 

I think people forget that Kakashi said "even she still loves Sasuke their feelings for him are completely different" and that's checking Sakura here, her eyes full of anger and full of tears is vital, it is not a woman in love is the an extremely outraged by the actions of sasuke, angry and frustrated with herself and so she says "I'm pathetic" on mangastream, Sakura is aware of everything, has clearly changed, but people are very hectic right now for testing.

 

Naruto What about him? ... He knows Sakura so well this is why is not surprised on hearing all this, but I do not know is if he's paying attention to "I want all to be together at the end," that naruto does not know that this love for Sasuke is a different feeling, but that is beautiful in him he said "I am going to bring Sasuke as I promised Sakura" which as I this is often the most selfless love shows I've seen in a long time, he was always firm on this.

 

I am one of those who follow the ideology of Naruto "never give up"  is a precious life philosophy, I had during the 615 still somewhat depressed also dealing with depression from everyone else, I stand firm on this, the POAL for me is the most beautiful thing I've seen and that pure and disinterested love for Sakura is so worth defending the NS that is the nicest thing that Kishi has written in the manga and again also restate in this chapter.

 

Keep Calm! really this necessary issue had to be tackled and face sooner or later

You summed the situation beatifully. Right on the mark. That was an 108 yard punt returned for a touchdown(sorry about the football terminology). This issue had to be addressed and it couldn't have been addressed any yet her way. With her face her thoughts her word and kakashis it didn't seem as though what ppl are assuming.

The reason you cant stop reading Naruto is because:

Its one of your childhood memories (as it is mine)... that its still ongoing.. and you CANT skip over it.. since you know its not over and it hasnt reached a conclusion.

You will always be like... Naruto.. what has happened to him..??

 

Now about kishi's writing i completely agree.. BUT he has been writing this manga for over 10 years..

Its hard to imagine that... the creativety he had before 10 years, is the same he has now....(and hes also not that 20 year old writer anymore.. hes about 30-35..)

 

And also think about that: Hasnt he get bored of this manga? Even a little bit? And is like:"Well... a couple of chapters more and im finally over with it..."

 

I understand what you feel... but you must also see the perspective of the writer...

he has a family to take care of... he cant just think about Naruto all the time.. and neither things like Sakura said before 2 years...
