And just compare it to the amount of NH...barely half of just one of those, and a majority of that consists of nothing but Naruto barely saying a couple words that could be said to anyone, then Hinata fainting.
Half? nH Interactions aren't even a tenth of NS interactions. Also most of the interaction of Naruto and Hinata are this:
Hinata: ummm
Naruto: Hm? What? Oh Hinata! Didn't see you there! How are you?
Hinata: f. .f..f.f..f.f..f.f.f....fin. fine.Na.n.n.a..na Naruto-kun.
Naruto: Ok then *Bring up something relating to what happening in the plot*. Well see ya.

His story was apparently very predictable to long time anime fans especially in Japan. What allow it to gain it popularity was the likability of the characters. Without that Naruto would have never made it passed 50 chapters.

Pretty much. His work could have been greater if he just executed right. Make old new again or mix it to create something special.rocci. 100% agreed. Without the likeability of the characters Naruto would have never made it passed 50 chapters.

Did not know this but the person who is the mangaka for slam dunk is also the mangaka for vagabond. Takehiko Inoue. He is apparently a big name in japan and well respected in the manga world. So Konoha is more than right to use Vagabond characters to compare with Naruto's characters. Since it likely would use similar themes for his romance in both stories.

They don't have a volume length worth of interactions to begin with. Hinata was only popular because of the anime.

It's more appropriate if you used slam dunk one side love triangle than
vagabond one.
Havn't read Slam Dunk. But I heard a lot about it that Kishi stole the Team 7 love traingle from that manga.

it is a technique only taught to the main family of the hyuga, so neji might not know it.. then again, he learnt the spinny jutsu at age 12.. anything is possible i guess.
if used correctly, the lion fists clamp down on it's opponent and suck their chakra away iirc
But rotation makes sense. If you release chakra and spin than a barrier is kind of plausible. It's like putting water hoses in your hand and spinning or better yet a sprinkler. 
Like here it makes an arch. Lion fists makes zero sense imo. Even chidori and rasengan had origins. (Including hidden lotus, medical ninjutsu, Edo Tensei....)
