I think she'd still be popular among the fans. The only way to prevent that would be to delete her entirely from the story, and it's not like it would have that much of an effect on the story before the "ending". Though her fans would tell you different.

While that is true, Hinata was shown worrying about Naruto. So, I guess that's where people get the idea that Hinata cared for Naruto even before Iruka, but she still never showed him her support until much much later on.

The fact is that she wasn't shown until the chunin exams in the manga, so it's really unfair that all the pro-ending fans are calling her Naruto's first love and bond.

Well, they're people who claimed that Hinata sketch as the proof that she's the first character kishi created thus make her meant to be with naruto.
Forgetting that most, if not all of chunin exam characters create in that arc.

Naruto first love is sakura and naruto first bond is iruka or sasuke(by flashback). They try hard to make Hinata naruto's first and only love. Sometime I think they don't realize that naruto doesn't begin with no love at all. He's not clueless shonen hero who doesn't love anyone in the first place.

Right! His crush on Sakura starts some time before the beginning of the manga. (And his primary motives in doing things for those first few chapters very much involve her, either directly (by impersonating Sasuke to get closer to her) or indirectly (by hating Sasuke even more because she liked him).) She was very much a part of the reason why he did everything — and all of that affection/infatuation is rooted in some event where he first saw her and fell for her before the start of the manga. 

 

One of the things we were robbed of in the NH travesty of an ending is a better understanding of Naruto and his early childhood years, including his first interaction with Sakura (and others in the village). 

 

He must have had something special happen with her to form such a permanent connection, becuase remember from Sakura's flashbacks that she wasn't very popular and was even bullied. But it wasn't Naruto who came to rescue (as with Hinata's nonsensical retcon), instead it was Ino.

 

Ino was already popular and very pretty, and Sakura is shown as quite plain in comparison, even when she decides to become a rival with Ino for Sasuke's attention. So the idea that Naruto was infatuated with her because she's the prettiest girl doesn't hold water. If he were crushing on the prettiest girl, it would be Ino.

 

Of course Naruto says later that he understands why he likes Sakura, because she is trying to be acknowledged, just like he is. But there must have been some moment earlier on that ignited his interest in her. Some time when he saw her and admired her, doing something that set her completely apart from the other girls. Something that made him like her so much that he would impersonate his 'enemy' and be give her a pass on her unflattering behavior when he — as Sasuke — asks her how she feels about 'Naruto.' Even though he gets a negative answer directly from her, it doesn't diminish his crush/infatuation/love for her at all. 

 

So there must have been some scene where it all clicked for him, some time he either interacted with her or witnessed Sakura being the person she would grow up to be, and he never ever forgot it. 

 

It could have been some behavior at the academy, some courageous way she fought followed by her genuine compassion for the person she'd gone up against. Or it could have been a one-on-one interaction, some kindness she showed him when they were on their own, and maybe she said something that resonated with him and helped form his ninja way.

 

(Like picking up a wooden practice kunai that he'd broken against a tree and had crudely mended and was trying to hide from the rest of the class. Instead of outing him, Sakura handed it back discreetly, looking at his rough patch work and instead of laughing at him, saying "That's what I like about you Naruto. You never give up, do you?" She walks away while Naruto swoons, and a love is born!)

 

But think about it, there must have been a good reason that Sakura was put on the team with Sasuke, the best, and Naruto, the worst. It would have been wonderful to have had a whole flashback chapter, reflecting on how Naruto fell for Sakura and why it was important she was on their team. Maybe that she was the best of the all the rookies to balance out their two extreme personalities. And that flashback could have led directly into a chapter about how well Team 7 works together as adults, and why it had to be them, all three of them, and no one else. 

 

But this bit of background was lost in the ridiculous Hinata-centered ending. Instead of a better understanding of the original plot, they have ret-conned Naruto into a completely different story.

I agree.
Why naruto love sakura? What make her different than say ino who is another sasuke fan. Ino is more beautiful and come from great clan and she has boob unlike ordinary sakura.

I want to know why naruto love sakura. We only know that if NS canon, sadly it doesn't happen.

I would have bought Naruto getting over Sakura after Her confession and 615. But than we have 631 and CPR.

Not to mention that they never made it clear, so no one knows what's truly going on. Anime was certain and then backstab.

As it is she is insignificant. She doesn't make any difference to the plot neither is she any good of a character. Nothing but meek, crying mess who knows nothing but 'Naruto'! Why even keep such a character. I know I sound mean but hey! She stole Sakura's light! Also Tricksie if the Naruto and Hinata pairing was so good that it needed to happened or whatever excuse their using now then they shouldn't have to retcon the manga to do it.

 

We do actually know how hinata started noticing Naruto in the manga. It was shown when she was confessing to Naruto (i made the post with the two pages after this one). One day she was crying under a tree. Then she notice Naruto training really hard. That was according to the manga the first time she really notice Naruto, and since she wearing her genin clothes it probably closer to them being 12 years olds than 5 years olds. The thing is that hinata clearly didn't worship Naruto from the beginning. In fact I'm pretty sure she looked down on Naruto as the dead last loser like everyone else. But after noticing how hard Naruto the loser was training and kept trying inspired her not to give up since if Naruto can do it why not she. The thing is for most of the manga while she does idolizes him she also has very little faith in him and constantly doubts his abilities. She did it both through out the chunin exam and the hunt for itachi. Even during her confession she doubted Naruto would win so she confessed to him so she wouldn't die with the regret of not telling him her feelings. So only started hero worshiping him and he could do no wrong after the pein's attack

 

As for Naruto he clearly is attracted to Sakura, and had no romantic or sexual interest in Hinata. After her confession he made no advancement towards her or ever brought up her confession. And from what we know of Japanese confession is if a person confesses to you, you have to immediately respond back with you're feeling either stating you feel the same or saying thank you and rejecting them. Also he continues to show interest to Sakura even saying to his dad who he has met for the more or less first time, and after that war is over probably never see him again while he is alive that Sakura is more or less his girlfriend. And while Naruto hasn't said anything against Hinata confession.Wwith that in mind it comes off as him clearly stating to her that he has no special interest in her and would prefer to remain friends. And that he is interested in Sakura as a romantic partner and not her.

 

And that is why in the Last Naruto instead saved her from bullies (so she never thinks of him as a loser and has always hero worshiped him), and why he's some rock that doesn't understand feeling or any confessions (cause if he did that manga basically saying he reject her feeling and he has no sexual or romantic interest in her.)

Well, kishi doesn't killed NS in that event.
If kishi make naruto said "I don't love you anymore sakura" then yeah he killed NS. But he didn't do that, which make naruto doesn't love sakura even more ridiculous.
