Nintendo is a bit too late to join in. Really, what's new with their "new" console that the other two haven't done? 3D? It's a fad.

More powerful than PS3? So it can run more shovelware?

Sadly Nintendo will release the HD console and might find themselves behind again with Microsoft and Sony's next gen console's. I think it would be cool though if they add trophy/achievement support to this consoles and Wii games to bring more appeal to the hardcore gamers.

LOL. Nintendo was never for the "hardcore" gamer crowd. Casual and children gamers at most, but most of Nintendo's game library cannot be called hardcore.

Metroid series? Maybe.
Mario? NO.
Zelda? Maybe.

Nintendo can call me when shooters run solidly on their system.

Fine, that and Goldeneye. But that was back in Nintendo's golden age.

Now? Not so sure.

Probably won't pick this up, I'll wait for the PS3 and 360 successors.

Sure now, but you said their game library. I mean SuperMario64, OoT, GoldenEye, and Starfox were some serious games back in the day.

Yeah, I played those games all the time. Now, if they make it a successor to the SNES I'll probably look at it. That was my first system, and you can't top the classics. And seriously, Wii sales have been dropping hard. It's no surprise they're coming out with a "Wii HD". We all know they'll probably $^#@ up any classic game they decide to release anyway. What's the point?

Ambitious. But, wouldn't a more powerful system than the PS3 and 360 be more expensive? I doubt a touch-screen on a controller wouldn't survive long in the hands of a nerdraging gamer like me....

They're aiming at around 350-400 dollars. Sorry, but my money will be spent elsewhere.

Whoof. I don't know where you got that from, as Nintendo haven't said anything about price/specifications, but that could be the ballpark figure if the 3DS is anything to go by.

I'm going to wait for a long while at least. I've only just spent my money on a 3DS, and I'm happy with the PS3/360. There's also Phantasy Star Online 2 on the PC later this year (or maybe early next year), a game that's sure to occupy my gaming time for YEARS if Sega get it right. sweat.gif

Just recieved my Socom 4: Full Deployment Edition!

I'll let you guys know how it is! biggrin.gif

I've been playing Campaign for a while, and:

I think it's a good game. It's a refreshing way to play shooters since there's a horde of FPS games out. I didn't like using the controller, but using the PS Move/Sharpshooter on it is fun.

So I would recommend getting the Full Deployment Edtion, not just the game.

The numbers I got were from Kotaku, as a rough estimate. (From rumors, mostly.)

But really, if the 3DS is already $250, I don't see why it would be lower. I'm currently very happy with my PS3 (Although this week with no PSN is irritating me), because there's lots of excellent games coming out this year.

New COD Zombie Info

FECK YEAH!

PSN Utter Failure

QUOTE
Sony admits utter PSN failure: your personal data has been stolen
By Ben Kuchera | Last updated April 26, 2011 3:24 PM

Sony has finally come clean about the "external intrusion" that has caused the company to take down the PlayStation Network service, and the news is almost as bad as it can possibly get. The hackers have all your personal information, although Sony is still unsure about whether your credit card data is safe. Everything else on file when it comes to your account is in the hands of the hackers.

In other words, Sony's security has failed in a spectacular fashion, and we're just now finding out about it. In both practical and PR terms, this is a worst-case scenario.

What did they get?
Here is the data that Sony is sure has been compromised if you have a PlayStation Network Account:

Your name
Your address (city, state, and zip)
Country
E-mail address
Birthday
PSN password and login name
"It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained," Sony announced. While the company claims that there is "no evidence" that credit card information has been compromised, it won't rule out the possibility.

Their advice is to be safe, rather than sorry. "If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained."

What can you do?
You are warned to keep watch over your accounts, and to be aware of your heightened risk of fraud due to the security breach. "For your security, we encourage you to be especially aware of e-mail, telephone, and postal mail scams that ask for personal or sensitive information," the company said. "Sony will not contact you in any way, including by email, asking for your credit card number, social security number or other personally identifiable information."

Sony has also provided a wealth of sources for data and protection against identity theft.

You may wish to visit the web site of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission at www.consumer.gov/idtheft or reach the FTC at 1-877-382-4357 or 600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20580 for further information about how to protect yourself from identity theft. Your state Attorney General may also have advice on preventing identity theft, and you should report instances of known or suspected identity theft to law enforcement, your State Attorney General, and the FTC. For North Carolina residents, the Attorney General can be contacted at 9001 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699-9001; telephone (877) 566-7226; or www.ncdoj.gov. For Maryland residents, the Attorney General can be contacted at 200 St. Paul Place, 16th Floor, Baltimore, MD 21202; telephone: (888) 743-0023; or www.oag.state.md.us.
To be fair, Sony does apologize for the inconvenience. There is still no update on when service will be restored, but that is the least of your concerns if you have a PlayStation Network account. It's time to change your passwords, at the very least, and if you're like to be completely safe it's not a bad idea to cancel your credit or debit cards and request replacements.

We'll continue to follow this story as it develops.

It's a damn shame. They've really gotta work on their security, it's unacceptable. I didn't care much for Hackers before, but they've come across as cyber terrorists to me. So much for the "we're fighting for the consumers!" bs they've been spewing. They need to get a life, or get laid. Eh, the latter will probably happen after hell freezes over.
