If you see Sakura outside of the anti-SS pairing goggles, you will see that this is the case.

 

But the subject we've been discussing is Sakura's blind and self-destructive devotion to Sasuke, so that's the incremental growth to which I was referring -- her incremental growth away from her romantic dependency on Sasuke.

 

I am aware that her growth in other areas has not been affected by this chapter.

Sarcasm aside, this is going just as I predicted it would. Sakura still loves Sasuke and from the way he reacted, he's not so indifferent to her. I may be mistaken, but beware, the surprises might not be over from his side. It's going to be a true choice in the end for Sakura. Sasuke and Naruto, loving both on equal terms and them loving her back. You know who she's going to choose, too.
 
I'm sorry for everyone who is suffering over this chapter and didn't ask for it, but for those who accused me of being a troll for having this theory, serves you right. SERVES YOU RIGHT.

But google the part of your theory we rejected is Sasuke loving Sakura, the other part about Sakura choosing Naruto over a good Sasuke is nothing new. I still don't think Sasuke has any romantic feelings for Sakura and I don't see Kishi letting one of his main character with unrequited feelings, Kishi wants his happy ending as forced as it is.

Possible but the execution is still awful even if there's something really significant for NS down the road. Imo if NS is endgame it will be a hollow victory, the way Sakura's character has been treated to get to this point isn't worth it.

I dunno whether you'd read this post but setting our quarrels we had before, aside for the time being, let me ask you this. This comes as a genuine question and not a mockery towards your predictions.

Okay, let's take into account your fact of matter that for Sakura to choose Naruto against Sasuke, Sasuke needs to get redeemed. Agreed here. Sasuke turns to the good side in future, agreed here as well. But, why does Sakura have to keep loving Sasuke and how come she has to 'choose' between Naruto and Sasuke that too on 'EQUAL GROUNDS' when one of them has given her nothing but warmth, care, affection, support, selflessness, sacrifice and the other has given her nothing but pain. She hasn't been in contact with Sasuke for what? Like 4 years at the very least in the manga? And even then, her crush on Sasuke was superficial. What makes so hard to move on from her superficial crush which gives her nothing but pain? What makes her cling on to Sasuke and still have feelings for him which she goes as far to call them love when there were 3 straight murder attempts, emotional tormentation, morale break down, confidance devastation and what not?

On the other hand...I need not tell you how Naruto has been with her.

My question is, why does she have to choose between Naruto and Sasuke on 'EQUAL GROUNDS' when there were no grounds to choose from? The choice should be as clear as hell. If Sasuke had done what Naruto had done and Naruto did the same yet something different and both of them being considerate towards her, then I understand choosing them on equal grounds. But when one has treated her so badly why does she have to have a doubt and choose between both of them? I dunno if I put in the right words...but I think you get the gist of it. Sasuke actually having feelings for and then Sakura having a difficulty between Naruto and Sasuke? Why does this have to happen? Sasuke having feelings for Sakura overnight after hating here for 99% of the series doesn't sound plausible, atleast to me. No doubt she'll choose Naruto but what message will an end like this convey? That treat the girl worse than kitten and still she'd have feelings for you? Is this right?

Now my opinion is that.....she should actually not have to choose between Naruto and Sasuke that too on equal grounds when there are no equal grounds for that. I see no reason why she should hold on to Sasuke and actually see him as equal to Naruto and then choose between them. The choosing factor shouldn't come into play when one has treated her in the worst way possible and the other has supported her and kept her nothing but happy and cheerful all his life. Are you getting what I want to say?

There's only one reason that makes sense if NS is going to be canon. SS has not been built up at all in fact if it hasn't gotten worse it's just never changed. Kishi has shown no growth in that relationship.
 
It should be considered that maybe Kishi doesn't want Naruto to "win" just becuase Sasuke is bad.
 
Now you and me can see that being in love with a mad man like Sasuke is nuts and Sakura should have dropped that a long time ago. And obviously Kishi has shown time and time again Sasuke doesn't care. You would imagine if he's building SS he would put a little effort into Sasuke and romance.
 
I can only imagine everything is being set up and perhaps sacrificed for a complete Naruto "victory" I.E the author feels it would be more meaningful for Sakura to fall out of love with redeemed Sasuke.

I have a hard time grasping what you said because how Naruto and Sakura views Sasuke don't change. Sakura and Naruto will always view Sasuke as the "good-ole Sasuke". What difference does it make if Sakura falls out of love from the "good-ole Sasuke" now or later?

Kishi's logic doesn't seem to make sense. He doesn't want Naruto to win because "Sasuke is bad" but he's alright for Naruto to win because "Naruto is a hero"? Because that is what it would like if Sakura fall in love with Naruto 'after' he wins Sasuke and become a hero.

Whereas, it doesn't really look like Sakura is choosing Naruto for moral reasons if she fell out of love with him because we all know that to Sakura, Sasuke is always the "good ole Sasuke".

I wonder if I was able to explain my thoughts well....

Yes. This is one thing that just doesn't fit necessarily fit right for this "triangle." I don't expect Sakura to waste her time making a choice between these two boys. They're both way different, and treat her totally different. it's obvious who she "chooses" if it comes down to it - but there shouldn't even be a choice to make. The way she loves both of them, or feels for either of them, is different, and individual. One is completely positive, and one is completely negative. One sprouted from real selfless feelings, the other sprouted from selfish reasons. One grew to affect her negatively, one positively.

 

They are NOT on the same level. In any way, in terms of romance. It's a matter of who she truly loves. This chapter seemed to show she loved Sasuke, but to be honest, I just don't find myself believing that - given everything that's happened up until this point. It's so obvious that the one she truly loves is not Sasuke. I don't care if she isn't aware of her feelings for Naruto yet, but the first thing is she needs to be aware that her love for Sasuke won't reach him, because it's not real and it never was. Her feelings for Sasuke changed, and it's way too obvious that it clearly did not change positively.

Eventough the love triangle in this manga is a one side, it still a love triangle and the author acknowledge it.

Now I wonder how will Kishi redeem Sakura?? when will Naruto confess to Sakura or let her know that he's not gonna give up on her? Damn, I won't forgive Kishi if Sakura ends up with Sasuke after all the abuse and mental torture.. I really feel sad but I won't give up on my favorite pairing. I've been a narusaku fan for more than 10 yrs now and I have no plans to abandon my ship..

Definitely. Sometimes a little too tender and caring, that it makes her do crazy things.

He won't make her end up with Sasuke for all we know. But NS having a proper conclusion after what happened in this chapter...its hard to say...but its a bit difficult. But who knows? Its the queen who is deciding the love triangle The queen is the best! I have full faith in my queen She'll choose the right guy. Ofcourse she made a mistake. Everyone makes. I am sure she'll get a lesson from it and.....will know what love really is and inturn choose the right guy The queen just cannot lose to someone like Sasuke. Tsunade didn't lose to Orochimaru so even Sakura won't lose to Sasuke! The toll is on Sakura currently...but she does have the strength to flip a 180 and flip things. She won't participate in the battle but she won't let Sasuke crush her either Have faith in Sakura DAMMIT!

To clarify I am saying Naruto and Sakura are in the same mindset for saving Sasuke. It's not that they don't see that he's bad now, it's that they don't want to give up on him.. Just two examples of this Poal from Naruto and Sakura back in the second reunion saying "I'll believe in them" shows a certain level of faith from both of them that Sasuke can change back.

 

Its not that Sasuke is good ole Sasuke its that he is not considered a lost cause to them. They are not going to "quit" on him.

 

Now I never said Kishi makes the most sense but if we look at PoaL if we look at Obito and Rin, there's a theme in this manga of not giving up on relationships.

 

Now IMO NS is most lilkely to happen Kishi has put no where near as much emphasis on the other pairings, so the bottom line is this Kishi is not making (unless Sasuke not killing her is making a case for SS) the case for SS YET why can't Sakura love Sasuke platonically but not love him romantically right now?

 

It's either for an open end or there's a reason why Sakura hasn't resolved her feelings yet. And the only remaining reason is that Sasuke situation is not resolved. And Kishi perfers that it get resolved with a redeemed Sasuke in the picture.

 

Now I'm not saying its impossible for Sakura to just wake up now and be like "oh I was in genjutsu for what felt like a year and worked out my feelings with Inner Sakura"

It seems to me everything is put to the side when it comes to Sasuke redemption. Naruto won't confess until then for one thing.

 

So perhaps with a redeemed Sasuke around in Kishi's eyes its not just Naruto is the morally better option he is just the better guy. It's not that Sakura quit on Sasuke (I know we don't see that way) because it's Sakura (Think Tsunade when she finally decided to give the old hermit a shot. I know, I know Dan actually loved Tsunade but its the concept of moving on emotionally without guilt) is emotionally free to move on to Naruto.

 

The irony of course is that Sasuke doesn't love her and has never been emotionally available to her through the entire manga.

Manga is about to end and I don't think the love triangle issue will be resolved in 5 to 6 chapters.. Maybe we'll see the end pairing in the movie.

She's actually very tender. The only reason ppl think otherwise is bc of the Tsundere effect. Other than that its hard to find a spot where she punched an ally besides Naruto. She even toned that down in part 2

Well, despite all the backlash of the latest chapter, I'm not going to ignore the mountain of development NaruSaku has gotten.  However, we can't forget the PoaL is major plot point and can't just be forgotten.  We also can't expect Sakura to realize her feelings for Naruto without coming to grips with her feelings for Sasuke first.  There are hints that she already has gotten over him, but we the audience need to see that resolution in the story and not guess when and how it happened. Then, Sakura will realize her feelings for Naruto. I still believe Kishimoto knows what he's doing.  The story is just not going the way we hoped or imagined, and many are dissatisfied.  However, we can't properly judge that what's happened in the latest chapter was a wrong decision when we don't even know where things will go from here on.  All we have are speculations not facts.
