Where'd you get that pic?
I got it from a gaming forum.
Pretty big news, after unveiling the 3DS last year, Nintendo will be showing off the Wii's successor at E3, it's rumored to release in late 2012 according to GameInformer, which sites multiple sources. The Wii's sales have slowed as of late with no big titles on the horizon and the success of Microsoft's Kinect. IGN.com has heard that it's more powerful than it's competitors. That should allow it to have better third party support than the underpowered Wii did.
And so the console arms race begins. Can't say that I'm looking forward spending money on all the new consoles.

Im with you there. IF it really is an HD console that powerful, its probably going to cause them to lose the all important price point advantage they've had. At least until next years E3 when Sony and Microsoft unveil their successors. But its too soon for the next generation of consoles. for me. It was bad enough this time around and now I might hold off the NGP until I hear how much the new consoles are. But I still think the potential of the current gen systems have been maxed out yet, but Nintendo definitely wants a head start.

Really? How else can you improve on their tech? Other than slapping 3D graphics and motion sensing. Though, I admit, I'm not really techy.

That and add motion gaming, I guess?
Confirmed E3 Games
I hope this link is true. Assassin's Creed III? (Ubisoft said we'll see something Assassin related this year)
Resident Evil 6?
Gah. I want E3 to come already.
And Microsoft has a huge annoucement at PAX for Halo. (Halo 1 remake?)

It'll probably be a graphical leap along with something new and "amazing" that they'll think up. With the NGP being able to to produce home console graphics (and really more considering what's all in it, like Augmented Reality, the motion sensing, ect...) I'd imagine they'll see a need to push out something better.
That or Halo 4.

EDIT:
New Infamous 2 gameplay trailer
Ha, red ring shop, xbox fans must be cursing the game now, even tought sony shouldn't forget about the YLOD, anyway, I think evil Cole looks totally awesome, and also, you will notice that his voice sounds much more deep then in early trailers, perhaps they are trying to make new Cole sound more similar to the old one after all that fan rage.

Well neither is confirmed, they're both just speculation so far. Unless I missed an official announcement somewhere.

Yeah, the rumour mill has really gone into overdrive.
The only big upcoming Wii title I can think of, off the top of my head, is Zelda: Skyward Sword. There are other great games that are still unreleased, but Skyward Sword is the only big Nintendo game AFAIK. That said, I haven't been keeping up with the Wii release schedule, as most of my gaming attention is on the Xbox 360 and the 3DS.
I agree, it does feel too soon for a new console generation (except in the case of the Wii, which is underpowered). We're still seeing a lot of great and amazing games coming out on the 360 and PS3, and the boundaries are still being pushed back. Sony and Microsoft seem to be focusing on small upgrades to their consoles at present, with the release of their motion gaming packages, and also the new disc format that Microsoft is said to be adding via a future firmware update.
The Wii did have a price advantage, and its motion gaming did make it extremely popular. However, it's already falling far behind because of the lack of power under its bonnet, so it misses out on the huge multi-platform releases. From personal experience, it seems that kids these days want a PS3 or Xbox, but not a Wii. Also, the Wii-owning families that I know usually only get Wii Sports (Resort), mini-game collections and the occasional fitness game. As a result, it's very hard for traditional games to get a good slice of the Wii's userbase.
It's still all rumours, but apparently the new Nintendo console's controllers will have touchscreens like the DS/3DS, and be more gamepad-like than the Wii remote. Adding touchscreens to the gamepad will probably make it pretty expensive. Knowing Nintendo, they'll be aiming to do more than just a simple graphical upgrade. I just hope they don't neglect the important foundations that a successful console needs (such as a good hard drive). A simple catch-up won't be enough; it'll be OK for the next couple or so years, then Sony and Microsoft will most likely come out with more powerful consoles. Then Nintendo will be falling behind again.
I'm in full agreement that Nintendo need to get online play right! They've been going in the right direction, but they're still dragging their feet.
Personally, even if the new Nintendo console does tick everything on my wishlist, I'll still hold off and see how it does. Because I now have my own flat, I don't have a lot of money or time to spend on gaming and I'm planning to just pick one console in the next generation and stick with it. As long as I can still play on my 3DS/360/PS3, I'm happy to wait and see how the new Nintendo console does for a year or so.
