Don't be afraid, after reading that last page I'm sure the author is kittenteasing us again, and its only doing it to raise suspicion and interest in Soma even more I bet my last cigar on this .  You should be more worried about Azami's Yaoi fangirl mode .

And yup, I also think the author is trolling us. Erina looks rather dumbfounded, not shocked. People say Azami will ask Soma to repeat his words, but eh, that would be a really, really anticlimatic writing. This is manga guys. Big revelation are almost always revealed on the last page of a chapter.

Exactly!!! I bet in my last cigar again that if he does refer to Joui he will continue to refer to him as Senpai like in this chap . But not only that, on the last page its clear that Erina arrives on the part when Soma says "My Dad" so she hears only that part hence the dumbfounded expression. That's why you also see in the end that bolded part "Azami learns the truth! But behind them is"  which clearly suggest to me that Erina is still not aware of it but only serves as a cliffhanger and to spike her curiosity for Soma even more and intensify the relationship like its been happening in this last couple of chapters its a steady progression from here on we still have a lot to go . I can't wait for the next chapter I hate this cliffhanger kitten .

Well like I said, I'm fine with either development. If Erina didn't hear though. I expect that it should not drag on for too long cause as things are right now the progress with her is too slow. it's been getting better but sheis Still putting up too many walls around herself regarding Soma. the main pro for her finding out this early is that at least in one way or another she may just stop  etite to commoner treatment. n the flip side though the BIGGEST con is that if she were to go full dere dere on Soma just for finding out that'd be incredibly shallow and that would be the biggest no-no on my list so how it all develops from here is up to Tsukuda-sensei's writing. I mean it isn't the first time we all thought that the story was heading into a land mine field and well the result may not be optimal but it WAS satisfactory of course so

I mentioned this in my thoughts and yes, I got a feeling we will see more to it.

Well I doubt it's anything as bad as that cover implies. I HOPE. Well in any case, Erina's past is only meant to show why she is the way she is. So there really isn't any need to make something dark and edgy about her childhood really

It's more on Azami and if we get backstory on him, we get more on Erina, which means more torture.

Oh you know, when I think about it Erina founding out that Soma is Jouichiro's son makes sense from a story stand point. Why? Well hear me out. Right now Erina still hasn't stepped outside her father's influence, so maybe finding out her idol is a very different man from what she knows about him then maybe that is the key component for her to change her mindset on cooking. Then she, along with Soma will likely bond more easily and that will allow them to discover Jouichiro's advice about cooking with love through eachother

Well that is just speculation but still. This isn't likely for romantic development I hope but for story purposes and to progress Erina's character cause right now her character progression is stopped from her fear of her father. Plus when I think about it it only makes sense for Erina to be gushing over Soma being Jouichiro's son immediately only if he displayed the same Gourmet views and cooking style both Erina and Azami identify with Jouichiro

Well Erina's always afraid and "OBEY" Azami's order so far. I think it's save to say that she is 100% mentally abuse by his father, the questions that remain is ... how??

Since this is echi manga, author love of drawing pshyco/crazy facial expression on the villain, plus add that new volume cover, there's a chance she has been **x abuse.

Maybe i'm gonna drop this manga if that is the truth

 

Edit: I mean come on, there are no score or point like when the judge decide who win and lose in the shokugeki match, she only knows how to decide with either Disgusting or Delicious. Whoever teach and train her to be like that is a kittened up person. There are billions of poor and homeless people that starve and can't even eat delicious food at that level. Sometimes yeah ... reading this manga makes me thing how ironic rich people these days. They should appreciate that they have enough for living and can eat delicious food.

I honestly wished Azami had never been introduced. Everything becomes so dramatic ever since he showed up. Now he dismissed three seats. Like how?

Well, I guess I'll just trust Tsukada on this one.
