He is basically saying there was romantic interest from both sides but everything has been cleared up in the scene when Sakura tells Naruto that he loved her because of his rivalry with Sasuke thats when they realize they aren't romantically interested in each other even tough it doesnt make sense in context, nothing new more contradictions and nonsense.

He changed his mind along the way for whatever reason but he obviously had to get rid of NS who was way too developed, the execution is terrible tough. He simply should have gone the NS way or open ending to avoid this mess because the alternative we got is nonsense.

As for naruhina "self insert hardcore hinata fans" even if kishimoto ever redid the ending or the last arc. They would still cling to their kitten nature because that's just the kind of people that they are. They are more interested on the end result than on the story of it. That's the kind of people that they are, that's why they act like pricks.

Good luck I cheer for you. I think the one thing that made NH get what they want was their loud voices. They got their voice heard and got what they wanted. Why can't we too?
