So, when NS becomes canon, will you erase the image of NH/SS stuff (by that I mean assumptions, theories, and even actual moments) from your head? I mean yes, relationship exist, but being classified as something to be true romance, that's over.

By that I mean instead of fixing the past to have the image of today, you finally get the future that will erase the image of the past. I don't know why I think this way, but probably because that one gif I saw have X-men Days of Future Past in a nutshell: erased X-men: the Last Stand, which people pretty much hated it. So, what do you think?

 

Im expecting a lot lot of rage and anger coming from that fandom and internet memes of how naruto should have ended.

I'm surprised some people here don't consider SS to be officially dead. Sakura doesn't love Sasuke anymore, Sasuke obviously doesn't even like her. When both parties are revealed to not interested in each other then the pairing is dead. The only real debate is what the trigger was.

 

Nah, it doesn't surprise me that SS fans are still hoping against hope that their ship will prevail in the end. SS was a pairing rooted in future hope, not real fact or mutual experience. The success of the pairing hinges on what will happen in the distant future. So as long as nothing permanent has taken place in Sasuke or Sakura's love lives, there will always be hope that the pairing will come back around.

 

I don't blame fans for shipping it either, regardless of the amount of proof in the story. Sasuke is the main motivation of the story, everything hinges around his actions. Even Naruto's whole quest is centered on Sasuke. So it makes sense that a happy ending for Sasuke would include finding love and returning to his village and the normal life he was robbed of. So fans of Sasuke and that fairy tale romance of the girl who waits would automatically put Sakura in the slot of romantic interest/partner. (And correspondingly, they would link Naruto up with Hinata.)

 

Since Sasuke is the main driver of the plot of the story, there is a natural inclination to give him a romantic partner. But truly the only partner he is shown to have is Naruto. I think Kishimoto's tangled story lines — Naruto being the hero of the story but not the plot driver and Sasuke being the anti-hero but having the entire story revolve around him — makes things like shipping and pairings more confusing than they would be otherwise.

For me NH and SS never had what romance shoud have in 1st place. Sasuke ignored Sakura on purpose entire manga and Naruto ignored Hinata unconsciously. most likely because if he think romantic it was always Sakura

- Sakura wouldn't have died its not like he was aiming for her head the angle of his chidori wasn't right she would have evade it

 

- Sasuke didn't try to kill Sakura OK!    the trajectory of the sword indicates that he wouldn't have killed her  just  scared her

You know what's odd. All of them in the battlefield are in favor of Naruto. Hashirama thinks highly on Naruto for having everyone back on their feet. Tobirama sees great things from Naruto like with his brother. Minato is his father, enough said. Kakashi sees him the future, going by chapter 655. Sakura sees him a great man. Sasuke just connects with him (judging by smiling together and all that). Obito sees him the future as well, especially how Zetsu called him selfish about it. So...should we expect NS moment down the line? We'll see.

Yeah, I know I'm missing Hiruzen but soon enough, we get the idea. But hey, he saved him from the tree.

That said it seems like this next battle could favor Naruto greatly, hence should we expect NS moment. I don't know but with Naruto, he always get his happy hour when he's involved. For some reason, I feel like this sets up for more Sasuke's enviness because now they're in the same level and his ego is showing. So if Naruto does it all, this would not please him. Plus it has to continue from the last moment he was getting pissed about it. What's more weird is that it's not even that long time ago. It feels like that moment happened last arc, but it's only like 30 chapters which a volume have them KO. So it's not like they did a lot to erase that moment. That time can happen again.

i think another reason why Sasuke will fight Naruto will be something that happen after war. maby Naruto somehow defeat Kaguya without his help and his pride will be shattered. Something like vegeta did in majin buu saga to fight goku

I feel like another last arc after the war is best. This war has been going on forever and all of the characters need a atmosphere that's more slow-paced and normal. Nevermind how many characters need to recuperate as well.

 

I think they'll be a last arc centering around Sasuke and Team 7. All of the Team 7 resolutions (NaruSaku, SasuSaku, SasuNaru, etc.) would officially take place there. I think that way would be more suspenseful and emotional.
