@jason vorhees+merryGOflava HOW DARE YOU TWO GUYS DISAGREE WITH ME!!!!!!!!!
Nah it's okay if you disagree with me

(or anyone for the matter since you're entitled to you're opinion and all that stuff), I was just messing around with you guys.
Okay, back on topic. As for the whole "never giving up" and "the newer generation surpasses the older generation" themes, they are good morals to follow but I am a young man who is a devote follower of logic and reason. To be frank I really don't see the point in saving Sasuke and view it as nothing more than a waste of time on Naruto's part.
You see, Sasuke puts revenge before reason in almost every situation to the point where it's just sickening and gets annoying while Naruto at the same time puts honor before reason when it comes to his "ninja way" when it involves his promise to Sakura to bring Sasuke back plus his own desire to save Sasuke to the point where it just seems unresonable and illogical to even try to redeem Sasuke in the first place. What they have in common is that they put there own moral values (whether it be to honer an agreement by keeping a promise you made to someone or taking revenge on someone who has done wrong to you by your own hands for their injustice while gaining self-satisfaction for yourself on a personal level) before any logical or reasonable solution to a problem.
Those are the tropes known as "Honor Before Reason" and "Revenge Before Reason". I believe that these tropes are essentially "Good vs Evil" and "Order vs Chaos" without any logic or reason in the mix. If I wear to compare Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha to these tropes the this is how I think it would look like:
Naruto Uzumaki vs Sasuke Uchiha-Our two main combatants of this series
Good vs Evil-Naruto is obviously the good guy and Sasuke is most definitely the bad guy
Order vs Chaos-Naruto wants to achieve world peace (thus achieving order) but Sasuke wants to cause the destruction of the Leaf and see the objects of his revenge die (thus causing chaos)
Now to make a comparison between Naruto and Sasuke in the logic and reason department, we have:
Naruto-Who wants to keep his promise to save Sasuke due to a promise he made to a girl he likes (Sakura) and his so-called friendship with Sasuke even though he's refused on several occasions to stop his quest for vengeance and is an international criminal that all the Ninja villages want dead.
Sasuke-Who's obsession with revenge is the driving force of all his actions that leads him to the point where he picks a fight with Itachi even though he's nowhere near ready to face him off, having a temper tantrum when someone he perceives as weak shows signs of getting stronger, becoming a rouge ninja to get strong enough to kill Itachi and when he finally does, he sets his sights on the Leaf to avenge his clan.
What's common here is that despite the differences in morality, these two guys are so unreasonable and illogical with there motives and morals to the point where it's just getting more ridiculous than it needs to be. This is the exact reason why I wish/hope that Kishimoto creates a character that would be the foil to both Naruto and Sasuke. This character would be unshakable in his beliefs and would challenge both sides of any opposing factions. Whether they'd be good or evil/orderly or chaotic, He wouldn't care because he's a neutral guy that just does what he wants to do and just follows the path of logic and reason. He would be a carefree, easygoing, sarcastic outlaw that does smuggling and bounty hunting for a living but would not condone hurting innocent people that have done nothing wrong to deserve it. He would be a neutral party during the war and call out Naruto and Sasuke whenever they put there morals before reason and make valid points on why they're goals are illogical and unreasonable.
So in conclusion, Naruto puts honor before reason, Sasuke puts revenge before reason, and I wish there was a character that lives by logic and reason who would call them out on their beliefs and make valid points against them.
