Pairing-wise, there's one thing that's worrisome. The unrealistic focus of Hinata's feelings and all these contrived plot points literally only done so Hinata could have screen time with Naruto. The scarf, the flashback, the exaggerated sympathy to Hinata's love ... all of it just feels too overdone to totally ignore. For what reason is Hinata's love for Naruto getting so much focus? It could be closure and love triangle drama ... but a part of me's worried it isn't. Would Kishi really care about romance drama that much he devotes a whole movie of a Naruto/Hinata/Sakura love triangle for no reason? This could be one way to make NH canon. The focus could be a way to make it the end couple.
But even as I say that I just can't see it happening. If NaruHina was supposed to be canon, then why didn't Kishimoto develop Naruto's feelings earlier? Why did Sakura doubt her feelings and happiness with Sasuke so many times while developing with Naruto? More importantly, why would Kishi have this done in a movie? This is just bad, rushed writing for NH. I don't understand how NHers can even enjoy this when it's out of complete left-field.
I'm not saying NH will be canon, the possibility's just there. And we still don't know the whole plot of the movie and the manga isn't over it. We shouldn't give up so easily. This whole thing just makes me uncomfortable. I'm not finding one good reason yet why this movie is set up the way it is.
I know everything in the manga supports NS. It has foreshadowing, parallels, development, themes while NH has nothing and makes Naruto severely OCC if ever happened. I'm just in-between what I know logically and how much faith I should have in Kishimoto's writing.
