I'm still say the Karin part is absolutely BS which gonna make it a huge plothole. Its highly unbelievable and that part is fanfiction. The Sakura part I can get and I'm not worrying about but the "Now Karin was originally a Leaf ninja" is the one that has me ticked. You already wrote a history about her in the 3rd databook, why suddenly change it on the last minute? And then the anime are going to have a very bumpy road ahead by the time they reach this chapter...
Derock, I think we're on the same page about the Karin part. I mean... What the heck? Okay, so she's a ninja that no one knew about, no one mentioned, and sure there are plenty of ninjas in Konoha we just don't know about, but this is a character that seemingly comes out of no where, no one knows her, and suddenly she just happens to have been from Konoha. Really now? And ooh, her team was attacked by a big scary bear and Sasuke like a knight in shining armour, swoops in to the rescue and 'smiles' at this person. This person, who he just saw, while his team is off on their own. This person, who got a smile while Sakura barely got anything of that? Why is Kishi going out of his way to shove this SasuKarin thing down my throat when I know it so contradictory to Sasuke's personality? Then of course, she's alive still. Okay, okay... Stabbed, and was laying right beside Danzou's big jutsu or whatever. Still not dead. Why... I'm trying not to flame her character, but she just conveniently screws up my idea of continuity and proper characterization. Sasuke has no reason to be there saving her in part 1; he had his own team and quite frankly as a ninja competing against the other teams wouldn't he forgo helping them? Why did she have to be from Konoha? It screws so much up...
Now, we add Sakura to the mix. She has a better shot at killing Sasuke if she's tagging along with him, but why would he and Madara allow it? She's clearly from Konoha, we're assuming her family is there, and he's just going to replace his bite-healer with her and say yeah okay, let's go off and destroy the place you called home. Even if he believed her, it's just not safe. So really, trying to convince a guy who just stabbed, but not killed (oh benevolent Sasuke, so good deep down inside!) his teammate that she wouldn't be a burden? How is this smart? She better have something up her sleeve because really this is just hard to digest. I can't suspend my disbelief for this one.
