Interesting enough, I could see him doing a very good Riddler.

I can say here and now that I will watch the next Superman movie. If the movie turns out to be crap, and the actor playing Superman turns out to suck, then it WILL NOT be because he's British, but rather because he's a crappy actor.

Well in response to one of your previous statements, I do think Bale is a crappy actor and I honestly wish they'd find a new batman. But other than that, I agree with your statements. I kinda thought Routh did look the part of Superman and didn't do a bad job. But they want a new Superman and this guy doesn't look like he's bad for the job. Granted I haven't seen anything he's been in though.

And I agree with nowhereman, Bale as batman, not that great. Not horrible though. Heath Ledger's joker, made the Dark Knight. And he was an Aussie, but everyone loved him. It didn't matter. I think Superman won't do so great because he just doesn't fit into the times. Batman is a dark, vigilante, and strikes a chord in todays world. Superman gets stuck with the campy labels that he doesn't deserve, but its there.
Myself personally, I am a little miffed about americans not playing these superheros, because they can't stand up with their foreign counterparts. Like it is in sports, the best player gets the job. No matter the race. Its the same in acting. They remade one of my most favorite cowboy films, 3:10 to Yuma, and it was spectacular. And the stars were Crowe and Bale. An aussie and a welsh man. And they nailed their characters dead on. If anything people should be mad that there aren't any young american actors out there right now up to task. Robert Downey JR is the only noticeable guy there. And he is probably my favorite Actor portraying a comic book hero.

OMG yes! I was one of those people that when they saw the original trailer for Ironman when it was coming to theaters, I said, "Robert Downey jr?" But then I saw the movie, he completely owned that role.
Honorable mentioned, I thought Edward Norton as Bruce Banner, Wesley Snipes as Blade, Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. Also did some bang up jobs in their super hero roles. The role of Superman going to someone of another nationality, not so worried about. It just means American actors really need to start stepping up to the plate if they don't want these roles to be cast by who ever. It's the spirit of competition, what America was born from. ^^

Also, a little glimpse of Hugo Weaving as Red Skull.

I honestly wasn't feeling Captain America, like I thought I was. I hope they have another trailer that's a bit more revealing.

Hey, it was 30 second super bowl spot, the big trailer should come out soon, they've been busy with Thor's marketing, even though Captain America is gonna be freakin' awesome!

(Hugo Weaving=Red Skull *nuff said*)

*sigh* as long as it's not overblown, I think I'll watch it.
The family that couldn't be.

There's always a contingent of those kind of fan around, though, so it's nothing to get worked up about. The whining about a foreign actor playing a part is frequently just knee jerk reaction. As long as there isn't a problem with accents, I don't think it should matter if they look the part and can act. Besides that, while he's an American icon, Superman is actually more revered outside of America anyways, which is kind of sad in how it shows how little he's appreciated here at home nowadays.
Norton and Snipes, I'll agree with, but I always thought Maguire was the wrong man for the job when it came to Spider-Man.

And I still think it kind of was a weak trailer especially if you plan on showing it during the Super Bowl. I never was a big fan of Thor, but I'm more interested in it than Captain America.
Plus...
(Chris Evans as Captain America *nuff said*)
Also dl316bh, I though Maguire pulled off a good Peter Parker, more so than Spiderman. I was hoping that he do more punchlines as per the way the character does. Not to mention Spidey does do a lot more inner dialogue during his fights.

I think Anne can pull off the sexiness required. I would've liked Jessica Biel.. but...
OMG ANNE HATHAWAY IS IN THE MOVIE?!.... I freaking HATE HER. Ever since her terrible performance in The Princess Diaries and every movie after that. She's just a horrible actress! And she's playing Selina NOOOOO she'll ruin Selina's awesomeness!
Personally I think that its hard to characterize ANY of comic book heroes into hollywood movies. Since the original medium is only a writer and man with a pencil. And since most actors are pretty unpredictable its hard to get the characterization right.
LOL BANE? His only defining moment is breaking Bruce's back in the 80's... the rest of the time he is pretty much a joke.
In all honesty if there is any one villian that can really get into Bruce's head

I love what they did with the animated feature. <3
P.S. watched the captain America movie and when he came outta that tube after getting his shots I was like "LOL WUT WHY IS BOOSTER GOLD IN THIS MOVIE?"

It's not the Super Bowl one, it's longer. Best part? Thor getting nailed by a taser.

Clearly you aren't reading Secret Six.
Also, breaking Batmans back is just what he's remembered for. He's actually very intelligent, but few really remember that because any medium outside of comics tends to portray him as dumb muscle. He's a much better character than Doomsday, at least.
I didn't even think he was a great Peter Parker either. Too mellow and subdued. It worked out for the first movie, though that one has some flaws; after than though, I thin the franchise just kind of crumbles at least partly based on the quality of acting.
