Preview time already? Stupid Thursday game.

Week Eleven Previews:

I'm going to be blunt: Anyone outside of the Top 4 needs to win out to have a chance at making the playoffs. With the exception of the Tokyo Raiders, no other team is within 100 points scored of the teams in the Top 4 right now. That means that finishing the regular season tied with another team is probably the same as losing.

Sparky McRandomsons (9-1, 1st place)
Tokyo Raiders (5-5, 7th place)
(Matchup)
-Sparky McRandomsons favored by 18.

-So much is riding on tomorrow's Carolina-Atlanta game for roninmedia, starting both Carolina RBs. He'll need every point he can get, because the WRs on both sides (White/Moss/Hester vs. Colston/V. Jackson/Cotchery) look to be a wash. While Romo should get the better of Flacco, Chris Johnson and the Cincy D against Oakland should provide enough firepower for Team Longname to win a high-scoring shootout.

Dark Adepts (5-5, 8th place)
Bailoutpackage4lyfe (5-4-1, 5th place)
(Matchup)
-Bailoutpackage4lyfe favored by 3.

-One game technically separates 3rd from 9th. These next two weeks will kill a couple of playoff dreams, and it's matchups like this that will cause the heartbreak. "Will Cedric Benson play?" is the big qustion here. I hate picking this one now because it feels like this will be a game-time decision, but I'm going to assume that Benson plays, giving the edge to Illmatic.

Konoha Shinobi (3-7, 11th place)
TIME FOR A COMEZAT (4-5-1, 9th place)
(Matchup)
-TIME FOR A COMEZAT favored by 12.

-I thought the Shinobi had one of the stronger teams heading into this season. I really did. But Calvin Johnson and the rest of the WR corps hasn't come through, and Hightower hasn't performed to where Sir Whirly thought he would. Now one of his few constants (Michael Turner) is likely out with a high ankle sprain. Zatren takes this one.

Sas-gay =] (5-4-1, 6th place)
True Miracles (6-4, 2nd place)
(Matchup)
-True Miracles favored by 8.

-Tough matchup. True's hold on second isn't secure by any means, so he needs this almost as much as the Commish. Picking up Detroit's D was a nice matchup play, and Mik3's trash talk (Hanson fanboy? Ouch.) is definitely better. But I don't see many places where the point projections look off to me, so I'll side with the slight favorite True.

Rochester Bulls (4-6, 10th place)
Gama Warriors (5-4-1, 3rd place)
(Matchup)
-Gama Warriors favored by 40.

-CPU Ed has surprised some people this season (*cough*roninmedia), but that won't be the case this week. Nee-sama continues to march towards the playoffs.

Scorehappy3 (1-8-1, 12th place)
The Generals (5-4-1, 4th place)
(Matchup)
-The Generals favored by 37.

-And speaking of walkovers.... Pick: Generals, because duh.

Season pick record to date: 16-7-1 (4 weeks)

Week Eleven Results:

Sparky McRandomsons 75
Tokyo Raiders 98
(Box Score)

-I guess my team got used to Chris Johnson being Superman; they took the week off and when he was merely Great instead of Epic, Team Longname suffered its second loss of the season. Hat tip to roninmedia, whose Raiders are currently sitting in the last playoff spot.

Dark Adepts 106
Bailoutpackage4lyfe 103
(Box Score)

-I really thought the CHI/PHI game would push Illmatic over the edge, I didn't expect Celek to only get 3 points. Well played, Sidney Rice, well played. Burning_Wulf will need him to contiue going off these next three weeks if he wants a playoff spot.

Konoha Shinobi 101
TIME FOR A COMEZAT 114
(Box Score)

-Zatren's devotion to Miami running backs continues to serve him well. The Holistic One gets him 30, but this game might have been different if Warner could've stayed in the entire game. Yeah, Kevin Boss in the lineup would have done it too, but would you sit Dallas Clark for Kevin Boss? Yeah, me neither.

Sas-gay =] 103
True Miracles 104
(Box Score)

-If it makes you feel any better Mik3, I wanted to pick up Detroit's D as well, thinking they'd be a nice matchup play. Oops.

Rochester Bulls 83
Gama Warriors 111
(Box Score)

-I'm telling you Ed, you might've been a playoff team if you played. Ah well, this one went as expected....

Scorehappy3 86
The Generals 69
(Box Score)

-...but this one certainly didn't. Wow. Even though the CPU put up a good score (Raise your hand if you thought TO would go off like that? Liars.), Nuclear Raven's big three (Manning/Wayne/AP) underproduced. This hurt him badly - he probably could've dropped one game and still made the playoffs, but this wasn't supposed to be that one game. Now The Generals face must-win games against the Tokyo Raiders and the Gama Warriors, both teams currently in the Top 4.

Week 11 pick results: 3-3
Season to date: 19-10-1 (5 weeks)

Standings After Week Eleven:
(Key: Team(owner), Record, Points Scored, Streak)
Top 4 after Week 14 make plaoffs.

1. Sparky McRandomsons (jwolf0), 9-2-0, 1117, L-1
2. True Miracles (True), 7-4-0, 1141, W-2
3. Gama Warriors (Nee-sama), 6-4-1, 1218, W-1
4. Tokyo Raiders (roninmedia), 6-5-0, 1102, W-1
5. Dark Adepts (Burning_Wulf), 6-5-0, 997, W-1
6. The Generals (Nuclear Raven), 5-5-1, 1135, L-3
7. TIME FOR A COMEZAT (Zatren6), 5-5-1, 1034, W-2
8. Bailoutpackage4lyfe (Illmatic) 5-5-1, 1028, L-1
9. Sas-gay =] (Mik3), 5-5-1, 1013, L-1
10. Rochester Bulls (CPU-Ed), 4-7-0, 871, L-1
11. Konoha Shinobi (Sir Whirly), 3-8-0, 977, L-5
12. Scorehappy3 (CPU-Anewhope2), 2-8-1, 826, W-1

Sparky McRandomsons clinch a playoff spot with a win OR a loss by either Tokyo Raiders or Dark Adepts. Rochester Bulls, Konoha Shinobi, and Scorehappy3 are eliminated from postseason contention.

For obvious reasons, the Commish gets Week 11's "Kick to the Groin" Award.

And heading into Turkey Day,

Week Twelve Previews:

Sparky McRandomsons (jwolf0)
Gama Warriors (Nee-sama)
(Match Up)
-Sparky McRandomsons favored by 7.

-Game of the Week. Nee-sama is looking to avenge her Week 1 loss but the projections say otherwise, especially on Harvin and Wallace (But we've heard THAT one before). Team Longname will wait until shortly before gametime to see if Jason Snelling will get the start for a tasty matchup against the Bucs, but of course I'm picking myself to win ("You play to win the game!"). I'll be sweating this out all weekend though.

Dark Adepts (Burning_Wulf)
Konoha Shinobi (Sir Whirly)
(Match Up)
-Dark Adepts favored by 25.

-Calvin Johnson may not play tomorrow and Sir Whirly's bench is a mess. Michael Turner would be a huge boost if he returned, but high ankle sprains normally take more than one week to heal (unfortunately). The Adepts will keep their playoff hopes alive with a win this week.

Sas-gay =] (Mik3)
TIME FOR A COMEZAT (Zatren6)
(Match Up)
-TIME FOR A COMEZAT favored by 6.

-I think that Joseph Addai is underprojected, but so is Ricky Williams. Miami faces the more putrid team in Buffalo... but you know what? I'm gonna go with my gut feeling and say the Commish pulls off the upset via Mendenhall and the Seattle D.
Or maybe that gut feeling is just me not having breakfast. Who knows?

Rochester Bulls (CPU-Ed)
True Miracles (True)
(Match Up)
-True Miracles favored by 30.

-The CPU-EdBot has pulled off some shockers this season, but it's not happening this week.

Scorehappy3 (CPU-Anewhope2)
Tokyo Raiders (roninmedia)
(Match Up)
-Tokyo Raiders favored by 19.

-An upset could happen here too, but with Chicago playing Minnesota I'm gonna say 'no.'

The Generals (Nuclear Raven)
Bailoutpackage4lyfe (Illmatic)
(Match Up)
-The Generals favored by 14.

-After losing three straight Nuclear Raven finds himself in the unexpected position of needing help to stay in the playoff hunt. I feel that Dallas' D is now slightly overprojected now that Jeff George Ryan Leaf JaMarcus Russell isn't under center, and will Chicago load up to stop AP and let Favre throw four more TDs? Despite these issues, The Generals should be able to squeak out a win that's closer than the projections.

Week Twelve Results:

Sparky McRandomsons 85
Gama Warriors 100
(Box Score)

-So that's two weeks Hasslebeck's underperformed against decent matchups. It was a hard matchup, and hopefully if I face Nee-sama again it's in the finals.
And why is Percy Harvin always so underprojected?

Dark Adepts 127
Konoha Shinobi 92
(Box Score)

-Warner didn't play, but putting Cassel in wouldn't have mattered for the Shinobi. Burning_Wulf stays within striking distance of roninmedia for the last playoff spot.

Sas-gay =] 106
TIME FOR A COMEZAT 85
(Bos Score)

-So Brees gets 45 points and Z still gets blown out. What a world. The Commish gives his playoff hopes a boost, and Zatren is still technically alive but would require a sequence of events approaching "Cats and dogs living together, the Four Horsemen stopping by for tea" levels of WTFness.

Rochester Bulls 47
True Miracles 87
(Bos Score)

-Without Big Ben, even CPU-Ed can't dream of the LOLupset.

Scorehappy3 71
Tokyo Raiders 93
(Bos Score)

-roninmedia had to be sweating bullets until Reggie Bush was announced inactive for the Monday night game. The Raiders hang on to the final playoff spot for now.

The Generals 96
Bailoutpackage4lyfe 82
(Box Score)

-The injury bug bit Illmatic hard as Matt Ryan went down on the first series of the game, in a match both teams needed desparately. Nuclear Raven has a chance to help himself with a matchup against the Tokyo Raiders next.

Standing after Week Twelve and Week Thirteen Predictions:
(Key: Team(owner), Record, Points Scored, Streak)
Top 4 after Week 14 make playoffs. ("Playoffs?! You're talking about playoffs?!")

1. Sparky McRandomsons (jwolf0) 9-3-0, 1202, L-2
2. True Miracles (True) 8-4-0, 1228, W-3
3. Gama Warriors (Nee-sama) 7-4-1, 1318, W-2
4. Tokyo Raiders (roninmedia) 7-5-0, 1195, W-2
5. Dark Adepts (Burning_Wulf) 7-5-0, 1124, W-2
6. The Generals (Nuclear Raven) 6-5-1, 1231, W-1
7. Sas-gay =] (Mik3) 6-5-1, 1119, W-1
8. TIME FOR A COMEZAT (Zatren6) 5-6-1, 1119, L-1
9. Bailoutpackage4lyfe (Illmatic) 5-6-1, 1110, L-2
10. Rochester Bulls (CPU-Ed) 4-8-0, 918, L-2
11. Konoha Shinobi (Sir Whirly) 3-9-0, 1069, L-6
12. Scorehappy3 (CPU-Anewhope2) 2-9-1, 897, L-1

The winner of the Sparky McRandomsons/True Miracles game clinches a playoff spot. Team Longname can also clinch a spot if either the Tokyo Raiders or the Dark Adepts tie or lose.

Sparky McRandomsons
True Miracles
(Match Up)
-True Miracles favored by 2.

-What a hard matchup to pick, especially considering True and I each own the opposing QB's #1 receiver (Palmer and Moss for me, Brady and Ochocinco for True). Here's hoping that Tennessee turns their game with Indy into a shootout. Since it's not looking like a blowout I still have to pick myself, but I feel less confident about this matchup than I did last week's (which wasn't much to begin with).

Dark Adepts
Sas-gay =]
(Match Up)
-Sas-gay =] favored by 16.

-The first of two games this weekend where the loser's likely out of the playoff hunt. While you have to respect Sidney Rice's potential to double his projection, the Commish has too many tasty matchups on his side. Sas-gay =] continues its bloody climb towards the playoffs.

Konoha Shinobi
Bailoutpackage4lyfe
(Match Up)
-Bailoutpackage4lyfe favored by 14.

-Urgh. Ugly matchup, even after trying to adjust for injured players. I don't see a reason to go against Illmatic in this matchup.

Rochester Bulls
TIME FOR A COMEZAT
(Match Up)
-TIME FOR A COMEZAT favored by 11.

-Yeah, yeah, I know... CPU team is a walkover, right? Not so fast. I don't like Z's WR corps this week - T.J. Whosyourdaddy has been up and down, Steve Smith (CAR) still has Delhomme for a QB, and what I've seen of Leinart hasn't been impressive. Matt Forte FINALLY can have a good game against St. Louis (who doesn't?). Gut feeling time again, but going with CPU-Ed in a shocker.

Scorehappy3
Gama Warriors
(Match Up)
-Gama Warriors favored by 34.

-Nothing to see here, folks, unless you're into slaughter of defenseless Fantasy Football teams. Move along, now.

The Generals
Tokyo Raiders
(Match Up)
-Tokyo Raiders favored by 2.

-Wow, Thomas Jones projected to score more than Adrian Peterson. Whodathunkit? I like the projection numbers for roninmedia more than Nuclear Raven's, but it's so even.... *flips a coin* Hmm, tails. Tokyo Raiders it is.

Last week's results: 5-1
Season to date: 24-11-1 (6 weeks)

One alibi: Technically True clinches a spot ONLY if he wins AND one of the Gama Warriors, Tokyo Raiders, and the Dark Adepts lose/tie. In reality? Yeah, win and you're in.
