actually I see nothing that changes whirpool country at all.

we can look at it in one of two ways especially given the events of HS/FS

one: events proceed as canon with kushina being the jinchuriki and the fox being extracted killing her. How does she survive you ask? simple given What I suspect HS/FS is gonna reveal Minato genius with seals that he is modified Kushinas seal at the last moment to allow for a successful revival if a given set of circumstances occurred. hence Kushina survied the night and ended up where she ended up in her flashbakc in chapter 10.

two: modify canon so that Kushina was not the Jinchiriki and the story progresses forward as is while still maintaining reasonable canonicity. and not needing anything more than minor changes or explanations later.

honestly as neat as the chapter was it doesnt change WPC in the slightest.

^the first one would be too much of an asspull, and we know PJ doesn't want to do asspulls like Kishi does (sometimes) right? So, I'd rather have him go the second route. But if PJ goes the first route, fine. As long as he can make sure it doesn't look so much like an asspull. Seriously, the first one is probably too much for PJ to do. As genius as he is. Well, anyways, PJ if you're lurkin' around now, I really suggest you finish HSFS first because it looks like Kishi is gonna beat you to it....

It's okay if he does, I mean I'm not gonna bust my ass or anything to get chapters of the fic out, even as much as I like writing. I was kinda waiting to see what the backstory of Kushina and what happened when Naruto was born actually was before I put the next chapter of WPC out, and it's eerie considering how similar what I was originally going to do with WPC compared to what Kishi did with canon.

I was originally going to have Rin be dead when I was writing the first outline, because she was the previous jinchuuriki, which explained why she was now dead. But I'm kinda glad I changed that. Anyway, Kushina in WPC was not the previous jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi. So the stories will remain different.

I am a bit surprised at the fact that he actually illustrated a scene to show that Kushina and Mikoto were friends. I don't know if it's just because he wanted to establish the early connection with Sasuke or not, but I found it interesting that he made a point to show that Kushina and Mikoto were friendly with each other.

Not only that, but the closeness of Whirlpool and Konoha. I was also pretty close with the location of Whirlpool Country, it looks like the old Whirlpool Country is the current Wave Country. I can perhaps change the story around a little bit for what I have planned, nothing too serious but it will better align the current wave with canon Naruto.

I'm also at the point where WPC is going to start greatly diverging from canon, so other than a little bit of fleshing out that we just got, it's likely going to start straying quite a bit here shortly.


Some of you may or may not have noticed that I'd been working on a Naruto/Fairy Tail crossover while I was waiting for chapter 500 to hit. I also have the next chapter of HSFS done, but was again waiting for this chapter. It seems that Minato was shown most of his sealing knowledge from the Uzumaki and Kushina, and not Jiraiya as we've thought. Though I believe Minato was a clever bastard and able to manipulate a lot of them for his own purposes. At least, that's what I'll be going with.

thats what i think also. honestly thats why it wouldnt be a "" asspull"" to have kushina be the jinchuriki. you allready established tbe baseline for something similar in HS/FS, and it could be the precursor to what minato has planned. simultaneously saving both the mother of his child and his son. as well as providing both a father and mother fail safe in the seal used to seal the kyuubi in Naruto.

simply put this chapter in many ways reinforces the events of whirlpool and its continuity more imho.

Hmm... I think I understand what you want to do with Minato PJ, but remember this as well. In the previous chapter of HSFS, you said Minato wasn't intending to play god, but if you follow catsi's suggestions, you would be contradicting yourself in Minato's characterization. Although, I can sort of understand what catsi has in mind for your fic, But I would really suggest you not do that. But if you want to, that's fine but you would have to be extremely amazing to pull it off without making Minato too god-like.

Ahh but thats the key> it wouldnt be playing god so to speak. the scenario hes set up would be strictly a mtter of failsafes.

a matter of what ifs.

If Kushina has the kyuubi extracted shell die, so if i tweak the seal just so a medic nin of Tsunades caliber and a seal master of jiraiyas can revive her with a simple infusion of chakra, hence he has planned ahead and his sons mother can survive even if he doesnt.

If someone--possibly naruto-- tries to mess with the seal on Naruto, two fail safes are built in one with him in case the seal comes close to being broken and one with a part of kushinas spirit in case he ever is ready to release the seal with the key.

this is all explained via th events of HS/FS where it was established that Minato allready a genius, had some reasonable insight into the events and made preparations.

in many ways HS/FS is a brilliant explanation of Minato and how he used that foresight to not only help Naruto in subtle ways but also saved him and his family without playing god. It wouldnt be contradicting his wriitng either. Minato might not intend to but that doesnt mean hes going to just lay back and let things happen when he can do soemthing about it. he also established in HS/FS that Minato did do something about it.

its in one of the latest chapters where Minato meets Hanabi.

Hmm.... I see. But I'm still not sure about this idea of yours catsi. Well, it all depends on how PJ pulls it off. I hope he can execute it well. And the Kushina failsafe plot device, that's just too awkward for me. I think it would be more fitting if Minato himself replaced the Kushina failsafe device with him being the second failsafe device as well. Basically, have Minato appear twice.

I'm not sure a chakra infusion could do anything about your soul being sucked out but hey this is Naruto after all

considering thats exactly what happend with Gaara, and that canon proves you can seal part of a soul (minato and Kushina in naruto) Id say it can do a lot.

and ill give this much Im not syaing PJs gonna do what i suggest as this is his story and hell take it in the direction he wants too. Im just postulating that these things are highly possible given the direction of the canon story, and the way he took WPC and HS/FS.

heck there even more plausible now becaus eof the events of Canon.

I just reread HSFS and it said Kushina offered to help Minato with his Jutsu. I kind of feel like a moron for not remembering it. But anyways, with your subtle prediction (and major coincidence) that Kushina seems to be knowledgeable in seals, you're one step closer to having your theory about Minato coming true. If that theory above was already true, then who knows? maybe your Minato theory just might come true after all, PJ.

What reincarnation technique??? don't you mean resurrection technique? It was Chiyo who developed the forbidden jutsu to bring life to a puppet by giving her own life force. She didn't die when she used the technique on Sakura because she wasn't dead unlike Gaara.

No, you don't need to have knowledge of Fairy Tail to understand the story, but it does help. I've actually have had several reviewers say that they have no prior knowledge of Fairy Tail, and have no problem following along with the story. If anything, it's made some of them curious to check out Fairy Tail.

Yeah, I didn't really have a problem following the story aside from a few vague comments/references such as Elfman's incident or to Lisanna, but I assume that's going to happen within your story anyway.
