AND WE WILL SEE YOU, TOMORROW NIGHT!
FREEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When it was tied at nine, I knew that would happen. I shut it off before the 11th started.
I've seen teams recover from this (the Astros doing it your Cardinals in 2005 and the 2001 Diamondbacks after Byung Hyung-kim offered not one, but two (in back to back games) game ending home runs to the Yankees.
But it's hard to do.
You had it guys, and you blew it. Twice. You recovered from the drubbing in Game 3, you can recover from this. Carpenter on short rest, Harrison who was shelled and two bullpens who pitched a ton of innings and were lit up. So, well see.

That's about how I feel. I think I'll get over it eventually, but I've been doing my best to avoid baseball stuff all weekend.
The next closest thing for me was the 2006 NBA finals (now obviously a distant memory) and 2004 NE-CAR superbowl (die hard Carolina fan, I can't stand the Cowboys).

Was before my time, could be called underrated, had 146 career wins, 2 no hitters (Phillies, Expos), was on bad teams until winning a ring in '82. Threw First pitch at Game 7 a week ago. Before my time, went before his.
Report: Phillies sign Jim Thome to 1 yr deal, Heavily Pursuing Michael Cuddyer
Cubs say they will not hire Ryne Sandberg as Manager of the Cubs. Fire Quade, still searching for new manager. As are Red Sox. Both are in pursuit of Rangers Pitching Coach Mike Maddux.
Cardinals already interviewing candidates. Interviewed former catcher Mike Matheny today. Interview Terry Francona on Monday. Recieved Permission to talk to Ryne Sandberg from Phillies. Jose Oquendo also up for job.
Future Cardinal Manager...Ryne Sandberg?....

And Apparently the Oakland A's, still unable to acquire the ability to build a brand new stadium and finally move out of the accursed Oakland Coliseum they are forced to share with the Raiders!!!, have pretty much given up hope on ever moving out or having MLB permission to do so.
http://hardballtalk....t-jemile-weeks/
So c'mon folks! Does your team need a top of the line starter? One that pitched a perfect game like Dallas Braden? A future Cy Young Contender in Trevor Cahill? A former Rookie of the Year closer? A underrated stud of a Catcher named Kurt Suzuki? Veteran outfielders like David DeJesus, Coco Crisp, or Josh Willingham? WELL THEN COME ON DOWN TO THE ANNUAL OAKLAND ATHELTICS FIRE SALE!!! All players (except Jermile Weeks) MUST GO!! Until Bud Selig lets the team move into a new stadium or Billy Beane says no!!
After seeing the trends of free agency and the AFL all I have left to say is this. Beware the Washington Nationals in the next two years Phillies.

I think the old Buccaneer uniforms from the NFL are worse.

Question now is Jimmy Rollins. Will he stay? Or will he go? Can the Phillies afford any more?
In other news Francona met with the Cardinals
"We just had a dialogue," Francona said shortly before boarding a return flight home. "I enjoy talking about baseball — a lot. Without going into details, we discussed pretty basic philosophy. I'd call it an enjoyable, casual conversation."
Francona voiced enthusiasm for returning to the dugout. Boston declined to exercise its option on him for next season after the Red Sox suffered one of the biggest September collapses in baseball lore. He met with a search committee that includes DeWitt and general manager John Mozeliak.
Francona is also rumored to be under consideration for the Chicago Cubs' managerial vacancy but declined to confirm his candidacy there, calling it "kind of private."
Francona said he was not given a time frame for when DeWitt and Mozeliak would reach a decision.
"I was just excited to go back in there and talk to them. Whatever happens, happens. I'm not going anywhere," he said.
Update: Madson deal put on ice for moment.
Cardinals have interviewed 6 candidates. Favorites Francona, Oquendo and Mike Matheny aka Captain America.

What about Jimmy Rollins?

As far as Rollins goes, its up to him. They want him back as far as I know, but they should not and will not pay him a big salary especially as he is aging and not playing consistent enough to warrant it. Eventually his time has to be up and theres a good number of guys here that need to be replaced with younger players. It'll suck, he is my favorite Phillie, but thats how it works. I hope he takes whatever Amaro gives to him and finishes his career in Philadelphia where hes been since I was in the 5th grade.

I mean everyone talks about how disastrous it will be OUTSIDE the Cardinals for Pujols to leave. And it Would Be, For Pujols. St. Louis has Berkman and Allen Craig, but after Berkman is a kid named Matt Adams who is hitting like well, Albert Pujols in the Minors. Never under .300. Pujols has been in Baseball since I was 11, but the Cardinals have already been great before and after. There is no rebuilding in this organization. The McGwire Years Were the rebuilding years and even then we made the postseason.
But who would replace JRoll? And while we're at it, Cole Hamels' deal is up at the end of next season. What happens to him?
Update: Wilson Ramos Rescued, Returned Home Safely
Florida Marlins Officially Become Miami Marlins
Marlins makes "substantial" offers to Jose Reyes and Albert Pujols, team wants payroll increase from 55 to 85 million. Also talk with Mark Buehrle
Red Sox pursuing Ryan Madson, Heath Bell, Michael Cuddyer, Grady Sizemore
