When I actually use a Shoto character I have about a 90% success rate. I think you just need to practice a bit more control. More than anything else. Honestly now, i'm trying to get the timing down for FA fireballs. ^^

100% success. Having a stick with an octagonal gate really does help. However, I do sometimes have difficulty trying to make it differentiate between a dragon punch movement and a QCFx2. It's annoying pulling off a Cannon Spike when I wanted to deliver a punishment Super/Ultra. >_<; I probably don't return the stick to neutral enough in-between the QCFs.

I think he meant Focus Attack cancelling to fireballs. Unless FA means another terminalogy...

I thought it might be, but I wasn't sure how you could cancel to fireballs. I know you can cancel to dashes.

Yeah, I mean using the Focus Attack to absorb fireballs. So it's something to do besides block. If you can get the timing right, you can Focus Attack and still advance on them.


I saw this on the SRK site I thought it was kind of funny. Hope no one takes offense.

We've seen the flowchart, it is pretty funny. A couple of weeks back on this thread, I also posted a link to a Funny Ken Thread on SRK. The comic on the first page is great!

Heck, I need practicing. I've been working on that and getting out the fast TKs. I was watching a few Cammy videos where a guy was destroying his opponent with a 2x Tk >Standing FP> Cannon Spike combo. It was amazing.

This is related to Derock's post about name changes in the SF4 tournament thread. I didn't want to take that thread off-topic, so I will post here.

Does anyone else suspect Charlie Nash is alive and well? I think Capcom are hinting he could return.

Reasons:

1. Guile's intro. Charlie's body was never found.
2. Abel. Abel speaks of how his mysterious mentor used the same moves as Guile.

I think there was another hint in the game, but I can't remember it off the top of my head.

It would be cool if Capcom could unveil new characters for the game (via an update), and Charlie was one of them. Of course, there would need to be differences in how Charlie and Guile play - much like how Ryu and Ken differ.

Uh, Smiter. It has said in Guile's profile that Charlie was killed by Bison. I highly doubt he is alive unlike Rose and Gen whom were the supposed-to-be dead characters during the events of Street Fighter Alpha 3. His death is the reason why Guile want revenge against Bison, it's the catalyst of Guile's purpose in the series.

Oh and for Abel, it has something to do with Seth and the BELCE project. Since Abel manage to remember the Sonic Boom, it was more likely that Seth copied data of Guile's moves (as he has done with Ryu/Ken, Chun-Li, Dhalsim and Zangief). So likely, I believed that Abel pulled a Cammy escape on SIN.

Now new characters for the update, Ono had explained that Dee Jay and T. Hawk were supposed to be in the game. When the update comes, I know they will be playable. Other characters I will like to see are Adon (appeared in Sagat's prologue movie), Yun and Yang (they appeared in Chun-Li's prologue which can make me spaz for SF3 characters in IV ), Ibuki (even though she's not in age to fight but Ono wants to include her) and I want Karin to return.

Ok in SFA2 Sakura was 16. In SFA3 Sakura was 16. I believe she was in CvS2 and she was 16. And SF4 which is years after the Alpha series she's still 16. Is that girl stuck in a permanent time loop or can she ever grow out of that schoolgirl uniform?

Also, I wouldn't mind seeing Guy, Dee Jay, Yun and Yin, Makoto, Ibuki and Elena in Championship Edition.

Even though i'd still be using Cammy. ^^

I'm not sure. I have to rewatch Abel's story to make sure. And I totally forgot about Gouken. I'm still a bit pissed off that even though he haven't appeared in any SF game, Capcom manage to revive him all because of the mistranslation of Ryu's quote way back in SF2 which cause the fans going hectic on trying to unlock/fight against a character who wasn't made for the game yet and he was labeled as "dead".

Yea this is a timeline that the games are supposed to follow.

Aw, maybe it was a retcon or something, guys! Who knows?? But I guess it happens.

Too bad I haven't been online in a few days. But my XBOX Live Gold account cancelled since it was for a free month. Though next month I plan to rectify that by going Gold again and getting a gold membership card for a full year.

I prefer the regular colors, though I loved back in the day Chun-Li's red outfit and Cammy's blue army with red cap and gloves.

Just curious,

Do you see any Guile Players out there? I find it funny how people tend to choose the shotos against me when I choose him. He is by far my best fighter and I tend to do pretty well against the shotos with him. Just wondering cause I rarely run into too many Guiles and people who I play when I use guile tend to get upset and call me cheap. I guess all the those days at the arcade learning counters paid off LOL! One thing I noticed since SFII they have made Guile progressively weaker. They haven't so much since the Alpha series but his attacks aren't as powerful as before and made him slightly slower. He used to have a double flash kick with out the EX. I mean almost everyone else has a 2 hit special but oh well. The shotos are too strong if you ask me but they tend to be the favorites of lots of people. Just want to throw my 2 cents into the ring.
