Interesting theory has been presented by several users on other forums. They're arguing that Madara's efforts to impede Hashirama from fighting Tobi have an ulterior motivation. He wants to acquire Sage mode. As we all know, the main weakness of the Jubi jinchuuriki is senjutsu. It's the one form of chakra insusceptible to Onmyouten. Could you imagine what the result would be if Hashirama were able to successfully use sage enhanced Mokuton against Tobi? This battle may have already ended.

 

So it's possible that Madara wishes to acquire either the knowledge to use or physical characteristics necessary for Sage mode so he can create an advantage for himself when he finally turns his attention to Tobi. 

 

 

This was the panel depicting Madara as he was fighting Hashirama in #641. The translation is by Viz. I'm not sure how much validity there is behind those exact words though.

really are they saying that Minato is like Hinata because he was mumbling? Like each character whhen he is embarrassed? meh.... Naruto uses to mumbling when he is in embarrassment but whatever...

Personally, I believe that Madara will either absorb Hashirama into his body (a portion of his DNA is already assimilated) or he'll selectively withdraw the knowledge to perform Sage mode from his mind a la Orochimaru. This is Madara we're talking about after all. The man is a paragon for the outlandish and extreme; his only rival is Hashirama.

It does seen that way, the first four chapters focused on Obito's displaying his power and regaining control as jinchuriki/sage. This chapter showed us that Obito is godlike, but also having a weakness. I think this volume is showing us what Obito can do as a jinchuriki/sage, and what his weakness is.

Just like how the last volume focused on Sakura and team seven, this one's seems to be focusing on Minato and Obito.

Yeah, but we'll see soon. I will give 2-3 more chapters before I conclude that the fight will go to the next volume.

 

As for Madara's trump card, I think it could be full control of Obito that has something to do with Senju cell. I think Obito still has some in him, so getting the main source will help out. I don't know other way around it.

I enjoyed this chapter. Good that Sage Mode is coming into the spotlight again. I always thought Sage Mode Naruto was cooler than his other modes.

 

Does this mean Sasuke may get Sage Mode too? I'm sincerely hoping he would. Sasuke with Sage Mode will be badass! And I'm pretty sure he's not going to stay in the sidelines.

The problem is the time gap between it. He just learned that there is sage mode from Kabuto. Not sure if he has curse seal or at least what's left in him. That said maybe Susanoo could provide some help. I mean the way Sasuke talks really into Uchiha pride, which means he's all about Uchiha stuff. But we'll see. I don't think he will just stand there. He might be jealous that Naruto can do all that and probably start using Susanoo with arrows.

he was jealous on Naruto for having the rasengan and kyuubi inside of him. But maybe it's more interesting if he couldn't go sage mode or use senjutsu in any way. If he pulls Sage mode than it will be team 7 or team Narusasu.

Well again, he has no knowledge on sage mode till now. My best bet is he will find a way to do so or take advantage when Obito vulnerable to get hit after getting hit by Naruto. The cliffhanger suggests that Naruto trying to beat down Obito will be off-screen while Minato talks to Dark Kyuubi. In other words, I don't think Sasuke may do anything. That or he may try to do so that could go wrong because of his jealousy. I can imagine that Tobirama gets mad at Sasuke for trying something that will not work. Sasuke has too much proud of his own and clan, hence his last words. I have never seen him talk that way until part 2, especially on how he hated Kakashi to have the eye.

I think Sasuke's arrogant will be the weak point to his screw up. I can imagine that Naruto is freely to do anything since he has sage and Sasuke don't want to be behind. Imagine BM went through. Oh yeah, his summon. There we go. Problem solved to be relevant in this battle again. As for Sakura, trying to not get my hopes up but it will be smart for Kishi to surprise everyone by suggesting Sakura to summon a slug to attack Obito, only to have her go sage mode and Naruto will be shocked. Tobirama could comment on it as well. Wishful thinking but trying not to push it before Kishi may think, "Oh, he knows? Ok, time for rewrite!" Lol.
