I actually see it more like that the Uchiha are nothing more than babies whining whenever something is lost. This really is some kind of Freudian complex here the Uchiha cannot accept reality so they try to create their own because they can't stand losing everything.

I agree with this statement. So i guess this means you shouldn't get a puppy for an Uchiha if they can't handle the reality of dog mortality being so short.

On another note, I loved the Hokage interaction, especially between the Senju Brothers. happy.gif

Blegh.

At least it was better than last week's. Though that isn't saying much.

R.I.P. Hashirama's implied and past badassness.

You know? Is funny that you say this because this reminds me of how many people underestimated Naruto just because he was like this.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Madara did the same and lost because of it.

I wouldn't have nearly as much of a problem with it if he was given the same characterization back when he was first resurrected, but nope. Here, he was obviously force-fed this silly personality to resemble Naruto. For another Naruto parallel. God, how many of those are there now? It's ridiculous and just unnecessary at this point.

Obito was more than enough to qualify as the last Naruto parallel of the series. This obvious re-write of Hashirama is just too much.

Madara has already underestimated Naruto, remember he though that he would be able to capture Kurama and Gyuki before the Jubi was revived.

Orochimaru already stated that he didn't seal up their personalities this time. Back then, there weren't just dead, they LOOKED dead. Their eyes were dull and empty, they were truly puppets with techniques back then. Now, with this ET, they are themselves. *and again, Oro said he purposely didn't seal their personalities this time*

Other than when he was resurrected by Orochimaru, we had no other hints of characterization other than him being mighty strong and Tobi stating he and Naruto were alike. That's about it.

I actually loved this chapter. I agree with people saying that if there is, indeed, a little bit of pairing foreshadowing, it's definitely SasuKarin, what with him evolving his eyes just to save her (which already has a strong backing with him being and Uchiha and her being an Uzumaki[Senju]).

Hashirama was awesome. I literally started laughing when I saw his face when he said Tsunade picked up his gambling habits. IMO, his obvious parallel to Naruto is literary beauty; Konoha started with an extremely powerful goofball, and will end with an extremely powerful goofball.

Good chapter. I don't really get why people wouldn't like it.

They talked back then and expressed respect for the Third and regret fighting him, also acknowledging that they were dead. As far as I'm concerned, that was thoughts and personalities coming through. And unless Orochimaru explicitly said back then that he sealed their personalities, I'm calling bs.

Exactly, that Hashirama had no personality, and IMO was rather boring.
He's a much more interesting character to me now.
I like how laid back he is.

A guy who took things seriously was still better than yet another forced Naruto parallel. Not to mention that his character didn't need any extra depth; he served his purpose just fine as he was. He was the most powerful shinobi (aside from the Sage of Six Paths) who ever lived and the first leader of the Hidden Leaf. His old personality fit just fine.

Why would Orochimaru mention, "Oh, btw, I didn't seal your personalities" if he hadn't done it before? Back then, they were the equivalent of when Kabuto activated full control over the pawns of his ET.

They have no free will. Their personalities are sealed and they become a killing machine with no hesitation. Since Orochimaru's ET was worse than Kabuto's ET, they were still able to speak and express their apologies. But not once did you see them smile or frown, not even blink. They were puppets, that's it. They are now, but obviously Orochimaru has stated there's a difference between then and now, not sealing their personalities.

What, exactly, do you define as 'forced'? 615, IMO, was 'forced' development for Hinata.

This, however, makes literary sense as a parallel. If Naruto is going to be the next Hokage, and is a goofball who is underestimated, it makes sense for Hashi to be the same, him being the first Hokage. (since the manga is pretty much going to end when Naruto becomes Hokage).

Good point. But this is after they talked, not before.

I believe this, the chapter before the one you posted, is where my point is made.

Oh, and the link you posted says that their personalities were erased by the extra seal that Orochimaru placed into their heads. After they talked.

...All of Kabuto's ET clearly expressed their personalities.

The fact that they were able to talk is enough. You talk, you talk. Everyone has a distinct way of talking, and their personalities show through that. Unless their voices were like Bill Stein the whole time, and I highly doubt that Orochimaru would take the time to do that. Especially since it\'d be more hurtful to Sandaime to have their actual voices coming out.

During the fight, they couldn't talk and were real puppets, true, but that was only after Orochimaru added the extra seal to them. Before? They talked just fine and stood still without fighting, and that's where they made their apologies and etc. etc.

Maybe so, but if you read said chapter (I believe is chapter 118), Sarutobi already warns them just as they get out of the coffins to prepare for battle. Even Hashirama isn't foolish enough to get goofy when he hears Sarutobi saying this. And just like a member of this forum said before, the environment now is a more "easy" one, so they have the chance to express their personalities.

I haven't read the manga for a few weeks, but stuff like this certainly isn't luring me back in. Hopefully Kishi steps it up at some point.

Read Hashirama's first line --Click here to view--

Before Sandaime even warns them, he doesn't act goofy or anything. Even when he's making a snide remark, he doesn't mask it with humor, like he clearly would now.

And even then, lines like "no matter how much the world changes, there is always fighting" make it hard to believe that this is the same guy as the one resurrected in the current chapter.

Critcism, Don. Criticism.

Also, isn't anything positive people post about the manga a trend, too? "Hi Don-kun is this another trend of your obvious like of the Manga? biggrin.gif" It really doesn't need to be asked for the answer, does it?

Not to mention, I actually like this manga. The majority of it. Which is why I'm so critical of its recent...stumbles.

I haven't even talked about the "power of love" stuff yet, either. Oh boy, that'd be fun to dive into. x_x
