We may yet get that in the upcoming seasons, Avatar was very big on its connections to the past and how they relate to the current story. Its not out of bounds to think that the back stories of the Gaang may yet have some relevance.

Bolin was so sweet when he gave those gifts to Korra, and this episode just made me feel really bad for her. She was scared and feeling so pressured to be a good avatar. I fear that Amon's plan is going to be turning Republic City against Korra at some point.

The thing I don't understand is the flashbacks at the end. So Korra got a vision of something and how and why, I don't get it. ._.

Edit; Maybe Aang is trying to tell her something, that Yukone and Amon, or just these two conflicts are somewhat connected.

Also i really hope shes not some sort of equalist spy or something i found that to be cliche. I just want her to be a nice helpful person to the avatar crew not someone who betrays.

I still just find it so sad that everyone has already passed on, and that Katara is the only one left.

Zuko's alive too.

the deaths confirmed are Sokka and Aang (+ many of her friends). Suki may very well be alive, but personally i doubt it. Mai may also be alive, but they would've stated it. Ty Lee, not really sure - chi-blocking is alive and well in Republic City, so you never know.

Toph is being predicted to be killed by some screw-up of Aang not appropriately responding to some conflict brought on by some mystery man's meddling. (my bets on Ozai or a follower of Ozai's post-war resurgence.)

and as a result of this cluster♥♥♥♥, allegedly, Lin hates what the Avatar is. it's a sound theory on Lin's part, at least.

it's being theorized that, as a result of Korra realizing and accepting her fear of what Amon represents, her first chakra - the one dealing with fear - has opened. as such this inadvertedly allowed her access to Aang's memories.

if this theory rings true, by the end, we'll probably see her communicating with Aang via the spirit world

that's silly. those people are silly. don't pay attention to the more misogynistic part of the fandom (i.e., tumblr). Asami haters should be banned tbh

personally from what i can tell, Asami seems like a good escape for Mako. Mako has and is always in charge of the financial and security needs of him and his bro - Asami presents an area where he can finally be taken care of.

in terms of Asami herself, she seems normal enough and is pretty pleasant, engaging and polite. although i'm gonna have to disagree with you on her intentions. i'm actually hoping she has something to hide, otherwise she'd be so boring. just another Jin

my bets are on her family working for Amon and her personally being an Equalist (in particular, the one that had that close-up sequence on the bike in ep.3) and then defecting against her father and Amon (maybe after finding out how srsbiznes Amon is). i'm hoping she'll join Team Avatar later on as a chi-un(?)blocker


btw i wish they'd stop advertising Mako and Bolin as friends with Korra. they're not yet. i was so disappointed in Mako and Bolin for leaving her hanging with Amon, but then again i got the impression that they were all very close - they're not

Team Avatar hasn't formed yet and i hope they address this sooner than later.

So, I finally saw the first 3 episodes of Korra in Comcast on Demand. I gotta say, without the awesome Jazz+Oriental music mix, I wouldn't be as in awe as I would. Not to denigrate from the amazing animation, noir-esque atmosphere, and fight scenes though.



Is it just me or does Bolin look like Judau Ashta?

It's also perfect for examining the dichotomy of the traditional, 'slower' Bending styles opposed to the fast-paced modern Bending, and to contrast Korra's headstrong, somewhat impulsive attitude to Tenzin's calmer demeanor.

That was an nice episode, I actually like how Asami and Mako relationship is so normal, just dating, going for dinner, chilling, and things like that, but I can't shake this feeling that everything is just going too smoothly beetwen them, like, there's more on Asami character. I hope she is not an equalist, that Would be too typical.
I'm the only one that thought that Korra looked pretty damn awesome during that arrest scene? And them she let's her confindence get over her head. But I still feel sorry for her, she sure have an lot on her mind.

And on a related note, lol they sure hit up the question of "what happened to Zuko's mom" pretty quickly. Like very first episode quickly XD
Guess the creators kept getting bombarded with that question from the fandom, so they made sure to let the audience know right away that 'yes, they have been asked numerous times, and the question will be answered at some point' XDD

Give them credit. You've seen the last three episodes. She'll be framed to make Korra believe she's an equalist in hopes that she'll attack a defenseless non-bender. That's how its going to work.

My husband watched the scene where Asami hits Mako and immediately declared her to be a spy. LOL I think her father is part of, or the leader, of the mafia, and he's got some kind of interest related to the Fire Pheonix's winning the pro-bending tourney. So he send Asami in to get connected to Mako and ostensibly offer him the entrance fee as a gift.

As for her flashbacks, they were obviously flashbacks from Aangs adult life. It's an interesting theory that perhaps she opened the first chakra. The vision is definitely related to her spiritual link to the spirit world and Aang, so that theory makes sense.

Eh, more pairing drama it seems, and now Mako is wavering between Asami and Korra. Damn you Mako, you typical indecisive shonen lead, you get all the girls and you can't even decide wich of them you want. And the worst of all is that someone will get out of this broken hearted.

At least it won't end like school days...
