Are Sakura fans alright with this chapter? Because, I sure didn't like how Kishi HAS TO make Naruto save her even when she doesn't need it. Maybe I'm being a pessimist, but Kishi should make the hero look good by not making the other protagonists look bad. Naruto looks good because Kishi gives a clear comparison to how much better he is compared to the other protagonists, in other words making the protagonists clearly weak.

Can somebody make me feel better about Sakura? I'm beginning to lose all hope about the way Kishi's handling her.

I will heal you my friend But yes iam ok with this chapter but if you read the page when naruto saved her she needed it, check the range between zetsu clone and her she would be dead if naruto didn't arrive,But no iam ok with the way kishi handling sakura and dont worry if you noticed she allways get some kind of weak when she heals people(check the pain arc when she was healing the village) So yeah and dont lose hope because she is the most important role in the war

I'm a big Sakura fan and honestly I'm okay with Sakura being saved if it's Naruto that saves her...

Seriously, though. It did look like she needed it. Those Zetsu clones were at very close range when they lunged to attack. I don't think she would have had enough time nor space to react.

I'm not too happy about it because I would like to see her defend herself more often. But I would be more angry if it were anyone else saving her.

What do you guys think about the whole Dan thing? It could be another ever so subtle NS hint (Dan thinks Naruto is like Him and Nawaki, Dan was married to Tsunade and she obviously cared deeply for Nawaki, and Tsunade is a LOT like Sakura.)
I know it's far fetched, but still, it's there.

Actually Dan is one of the few edo tensei's out there that i want to know more about, he is one of those characters with an interesting past we know little about.

There's still something about naruto's grin though..... It doesn't look like an overockyness grin, but this one looks like a bit evil to me.... Hell yeah! I'm so pumped for next weeks chapter! XD

The thing is, Naruto's "evil" grin seems to be the only reason people think that Naruto could be a Zetsu clone instead. Although this could be true, coupled with the fact that his scent was different, Kiba commenting on Naruto's scent being different can also be something that people misinterpret. Remember people, Kiba said that "he smells differently than usual", giving a possibility that Naruto smells different in NTCM, or else he would have said "he smells like those bodies around us" [referring to the Zetsu clones, of course] instead and knowing Kiba, he would run in and attack Naruto full on. If the latter really was Kishi-sensei's intention, then fair enough, I'll step back, however, no one is absolutely sure, so don't jump to conclusions, people. First off, sorry if I double post. I agree with you, the chapter is good and we got so many things happening. I think Dan's comments has nothing to do with NS. But worry not, hopefully we'll have some good moments in the coming chapters.

To my interpretation, the chapter tells us several key points:

1. 'Towards the end of the fights' (pg. 3 colored page). I think this confirms that once all these 'random' fights are done, we are directed to the conclusion of the war (or the manga). I still think that Naruto will pay the price heavily to win the war (might cause him to die, based on so many hints provided in the previous chapters). I hope I'm wrong though, I do want to see happy ending with NS concluded

2. Naruto's clone is everywhere in the battle field. The real one is with Bee, most probably go to confront Madara directly. I agree that this might be the setup Madara is planning.

3. Pairing conclusion is being dragged all the way to the end, as expected. Kishi is trying to balance the fan service. Sorry to say, but I think there's no romantic hints in this chapter. When Naruto saved Sakura, he immediately addressed Sakura's well being although Shizune is also there. This is logical, refer to the chapter where Naruto first knew about the war, his sense immediately trace Sakura's condition in the war -- oh yeah, there's no Hinata there also . As comparison, when Naruto saved Hinata, he didnt specifically addressed Hinata's well being, although initially she was alone and later on Kiba is joining later in the back. This indicates that he was addressing the group.

4. Naruto = Zetsu? Hm.. could be, but I highly doubt it.

Look forward to NS moments -- although I'm setting my expectation low. Kishi sensei, please give some peace to our minds

I've thought about it, have you? Jw, but what if Naruto/Sakura Hinata/Naruto already discussed their feelings in flashback, and Kishi is waiting for the right moment to bring that flashback into action, similar how some of Naruto's scenes with Jiraya, even though we didn't actually see the episode (or in this case, chapter.)

Nope, don't see it. In chapter 540, that Zetsu was within arm's length (hand on her shoulder), and was swinging his (it's?) kunai at her from behind, and she still scrambled him. In this chapter (558) the Zetsu's are more than a body length away, Sakura has her arms up in a fighting posture, and fierce determination on her face. It is very debatable that she "needed" saving. I think she was preparing her "Denny's-waitress-jutsu". ("Here's your Grand Slam!" )

That's what I'm thinking. Sakura's main combat style is geared towards close combat because of her super strength. They did mention in the anime that Tsunade mainly focused her combat training towards evasion, though I'm not sure if it's in the manga (mainly because I'm too lazy to look through 300+chapters already...) Naruto just happened to take advantage of the Zetsus blind spots and took them out before they got close to his "Sakura-chan."

In fact, that's a pretty good sneak attack. No yelling "Rasengan!" or "SAKURA-CHAN!" Just BAM, Rasengan to the back. He's acting like a ninja for once.... XD

A couple of things I thought of:

(1) Kiba's smell: Does he know what White Zetsu smells like (even assuming it has a distinct smell)? Assuming a distinct smell, the problem would be if Kiba has only faced White Zetsu's impersonating people he doesn't know. Obviously, they would know that the ninja attacking them are white zetsu's, but he wouldn't normally know what they impersonating ninja's smell like, so is what he gets from those guys the smell of white zetsu or the person they clone? Does the smell change to ther person they are cloning? Not necessarily something Kiba would know. A potential giveaway would be numerous people from differing villages smelling the exact same. If so, then he should be able to figure it out, but that would assume they have seen enough white zetsu's to make the determination. If they all have been Cloud ninja you'd expect similarlities/

So...I don't think it's a given that Kiba knowns what White Zetsu smells like or that it's distinct enough he can clearly ID it as such. It's also perfectly reasonable the the chakra mode is the source, too.

(2) Why? If a White Zetsu is about to land a killing blow on an enemy why would another White Zetsu stop him? I guess ti gain the trust of the others to do MORE damage? Why not just have Naruto/Zetsu just land the killing blow when he has a clear shot? I guess they'd immediately assume White Zetsu, but the moment he attacks they will anyway, so unless a very specific target (and they are supposed to lead fake Naruto to it) is in that area I have trouble identifying the motive or logic of doing that.

It's possible, I guess. We don't know the physical lay of the land (where everyone is in relation to everyone else), so maybe someone is close by who they are targeting, so he does have the ability to say, oh by the way....so and so is close and Hinata and co. lead fake Naruto to it.

The only other method could be that White Zetsu's can't identify each other, but there is been no indication of them killing each other and it would make the strategy employed a bit too random for someone as maticulous as Madara; i.e. it would be as likely they'd spend as much time killing each other as they would the enemy. So, I don't think this is the case.

So, I'm inclined to think it's really Naruto.

White Zetsu's arent like normal clones you have to remember that. there like regular Ninja just alittle weaker.

I think it's safe to assume they're all clones and the real one is with Bee. Naruto says each of his clones were headed for different battlefields therefore the real one is with Bee. Find Bee and there's the real one.

SMH They forget that Naruto loves Sakura and not one single hint came of romantic evidence came from that scene with Hinata.

Naruto voiced concern for Sakura when he saved her. with Hinata he addressed everybody.

mangastream's version is out. An interesting to note is that in the first page Kabuto's snake is shown talking in green (1st panel) and Kabuto himself is in brown (2nd panel) unlike managreader's version which shows kabuto speaking in brown on the first panel.
