Ask him how he's enjoying the hundred fifty dollar wireless adapter, controller charging cord and online multiplayer he had to pay for. Also ask him if he's had the pleasure of having his system be one of the fifty percent that fail. If he persists, name a bunch of games you got for that two fifty you saved that he was forced to blow (plus the sixty dollars yearly).
The funny thing is I've played online on both thanks to Live trials; they're both pretty much the same in quality of experience, one just charges.
What period are you living in? the Wireless N comes built in the new consoles, I personally prefer the seperate batery required for the console though I do agree M$ are milking it with how much they charge. (atleast I can charge my controller when my 360 is on standby, unlike the PS3, what idiot thought not to put in that option, and worst give you a tiny charger cable deserves to be shot.) You forget that the console with the reliability problems (the old ones) come with three year cover, The Online experience is better on the 360, it's not just the multiplayer aspects but the expericne as a whole, I hate going online on the PS3 as it's not much fun for me but on the 360 it's so much better, and often go online just to chat with my mates, not even playing any games.
It's not just me but all my mates would rather pay for Xbox Live than go online with PS3, I was actually surprised many of them even owned a PS3. All of them pretty much agree the main reason to own a PS3 is for the jRPG's and exclusives, where online games and multiplatform are concerned the 360 is still king.

I've got LittleBigPlanet 2 though, so I'm not sure I should really bother with one.
I think my picks will end up being Super Stardust and Dead Nation.
For PSP I'll probably get Killzone Liberation and either LBP PSP or Modnation Racers.

Live's alright, but for me, not worth it. I've played games on both online services and many multiplatform games pretty much play the same. Sure, you'll still have a Bayonetta type fiasco every once in a while but for the most part the gap between 360 & PS3 mutiplats has closed. I personally prefer being able to charge my controller right out of the box, I don't like having to switch out batteries for my 360 & Wii. But once again, that's only my preference. The one thing I truly envy is the party chat, but I'm not willing to pay a yearly subscription fee for it. The dashboard is neat and all but it's something I can ultimately do without. As long as I can play online, send invites, and chat in multiplayer I'll be good with PSN. As long as it's free anyway. Though I do see why those looking for a more full featured service would prefer Live. So the whole thing's subjective and it's up to you to choose which one serves you best.
Anyways back on topic..

Had I already played LBP2 I'd probably agree with you. But I haven't so I'll give LBP a shot and then move on to LBP2 afterwards. Dead Nation looks cool so that'll probably be my other choice.

On the flip side though, without any internet connection at all the 360 is so dull compared to the PS3 being played offline.

Dude, get inFamous. You like comic book heroes right? inFamous is one of the better superheroes games out there.

I literally just shut off the console any time my internet connection drops.
I plan on getting inFamous and DeadNation once I can, never got the chance to play inFamous.

This is clearly a recent development. But the fact remains that for about five years they charged you a hundred fifty for your 360 to go wireless. The only solution without throwing money at them was to connect your 360 to a nearby computer that does have it. If you didn't have one nearby, you either had to rearrange everything or deal.
Trust me, it was a pain in the ass to rearrange, but, you know, I'm a pretty stubborn prick when it comes to not throwing extra money at Microsoft.
Either way, while they may be doing it now, that's still irrelevant to me and the numerous others who bought one before they did it.
Only if you got a Red Ring, which was so prominent that, surprise, they made it so that when the system failed a red ring didn't show up anymore.
It also doesn't cover disc drive problems, which the system is also pretty notorious for. I had this one. Boy oh boy, is Microsoft Customer Service ever a goddamn nightmare (as opposed to Sony; had an issue with my PSP and the replacement process was smooth as frickin' butter).
You're clearly seeing something I never did. I've played online for both and they're about the same in quality of experience. I enjoyed playing what I did online with the 360, but not enough to pay sixty dollars for what should be free.
Good for them. But then, I'm sure there are just as many of us with friends who prefer the PS3. It doesn't matter anyways.
You'd never even have to ask this question if you ever saw my shelf of trade paperbacks.
The only reason I'm not going for that one is that it's on my Gamefly queue already and I was planning on getting it through there soon, so it'd just be a waste of a slot if I went for that. But I'll get around to playing it, for sure.
Coolness. Fallout NV: Honest Hearts is probably the most pressing addition for them to make.
