Obviously this movie will be ignored by NH and SS fans saying it's not canon blablabla, but it feels like hypocrisy to me because if they see a filler scene from the anime that has NH and SS involvement they immediately say it's canon.

I am a little disappointed though, since I've heard Kishi was involved in this, and we're still getting the lame 'princess' character as a movie love interest. Oh well, I remember hearing Kishi was involved in the 3rd Shippuden movie, and the OCs in that were just lame. Seriously, the minions' names were Ichi, Nii, and San (1, 2, and 3 in Japanese), and the main villain had the same name as Sasori's puppet body, Hiruko. Maybe Kishi helped with the basic story for that and this movie, but handed the OC's off to the anime team. *shrug*

Yeah, that was the impression I got, the animators could do whatever they wanted with their characters, he was just insuring his characters words and actions came off as close to their canon personalities as possible. The story has no connection to manga canon, just a chance to draw the anime adaption of his characters closer to how they are in the manga.

uh huh and I'm getting SICK of it if there's NS development in fillers and movies the make up all these meaningless and pitiful excuses but if there's NH or SS development in fillers they WHOOP to the heavens so if they want to play that game, let's tango! If they say NS filler moments are not canon then neither are NH or SS filler moments moments! so what does that leave them with? not much to go on, huh? especially if you are trying to convince someone else of a long lasting relationship between two characters there has to be interaction and mutually shared feelings.

You know, I can't even express how I will feel the day Narusaku does possible become cannon (*possibly because I didn't want to jinx myself for being so confident).

The important thing here is that like the third movie Kishi was involved in this one too and what a coincidence that the movies Kishi was involved in have the most NS moments hmm....I wonder why???

But seriously the fact that Kishi was involved in both movies means that it's a vision from the manga creator of how the characters should be, meaning it's no coincidence why there's a lot of NS development or why Sakura is obviously showing more affection for Naruto. It could only mean one thing that NS is the pairing that the creator supports or has been planning since the beginning of his manga.

Someone was asking me for confirmation of it, and I realized I couldn't really give it, beyond what I've heard around the internet.

I can't really find solid proof for either one, but the Wikipedia page has Kishimoto listed with Junki Takegami, who's written the scripts for the other movies, as a writer. I know it's a terrible information source, but I recall seeing a short message from Kishi at the end of the movie, so I guess I just took it at that. It's hard to find sources if you can't read Japanese, LOL. I'd like to see the movie when it get's dubbed, so I can see a translated credits.

As for Blood Prison, I've heard that Akira Higashiyama, who's writing the script for this movie instead of Takegami, has worked with Kishi before, so I just assumed Kishi is somewhat involved in it. At the very least, I imagine Higashiyama has a good idea of what Kishi wants done with his characters, so Kishi could be indirectly involved that way.

Either way, I generally keep a skeptical outlook on these sorts of things. Although it does seem like more than a coincidence that the 3rd and 5th Shippuden movies seem to have more NaruSaku scenes than most of the movies have had.

Sorry for not providing a better source, I wish I knew more about it.

Really? Wow, I never heard that. Maybe Kishi had some indirect involvement there too.

Although, in all fairness, how complicated was the screenplay for that OVA? It was just: Naruto dead, Sakura shocked, flashback leading up to big fight, Naruto wakes up, Sakura hugs him. I mean, as much as I loved that OVA, it seems weird that Kishi would hire an award-winning author to do something that simple. Maybe Higashiyama chose which flashbacks to use, but IDK.

But then again, the animation looked a little bit different than the anime, so it could be the case that a different group worked on that. That'd be funny if Kishi asked Higashiyama to work on the OVA to test him out before letting him do Blood Prison, LOL.

"Ryuukittena when kissing Naruto entrusts life to them (I guess the poster means both Naruto and Sakura, since the sentence structure implies plural- I checked to be sure in Japan Excite's English translation tool and it does come out "them" there as well.) then dies. I don't know what else to say, but I was impressed."

I honestly can't wait for the stuff in this movie!! The NaruSaku moments sound great, as does the entire plot of the movie! It sucks that we have to wait until April of next year to see this though I really hope I find a low quality raw for this movie before then.

Not a problem - I'll try and see if I can't google a translation of the credits or anything. I might check out the Wikipedia page and see how it compares to the other movies credits.

Interesting ; so either Kishi is asking for the characterization of Sakura with romantic feelings for Naruto, or this guy simply likes that interpretation and likes to emphasize it.

Well it's the same for Amaru from "Bonds" y'know? the second Shippuden movie but I want them to make that girl a bit cuter so Sakura will be more jealous, creating more romantic tension
