This was an excellent chapter. Nagato was the inspiration for the gutsy ninja. Im guessing hes about to do something good, bring shizune and kakashi back maybe?

Yeah that was a pretty good chapter

I wonder if the ninja who appeared was a henchmen of the Riddler though.

That was a really good chapter. Nagato getting all nostalgic was quite touching and made me wonder how he could kill Jiraiya through all those memories he had. Seemed to me like he felt replaced when Naruto announced the main character's name. I'm curious - is he about to use a jutsu for... well, good or bad, I guess. Is he going to fight Naruto or find Madara or something?

Oh, and that ninja Nagato was fighting had a question mark on his forehead protector. I found that strangely amusing. happy.gif

Aww, now that's what I've been waiting for. A very Naruto moment. wub.gif

This chapter was much better than the previous few, and gave us something about Nagato to actually feel sympathy for. He's fallen so far from his old beliefs, it's sad. shamefulcry0js.gif

As for Nagato's jutsu: After all that, he's not going to attack. I think me might bring people back to life, but it'd be a huge copout. Me, I think he's going to give Naruto his rinnegan. Let's see Madara beat that Naruto. happy.gif

Well, that would be quite something, but can you actually do that? I mean, Kakashi has (had shamefulcry0js.gif ) a sharingan but that was through an operation... they gonna pluck their eyeballs out and swap? I kind of felt he turned around fairly quickly so I wouldn't be that surprised if it was something bad.. still, hope it isn't... maybe he's going to commit suicide or something :S

Or summon his sealing thing and do something with it, like attack Naruto/magically whip out the kyuubi/instil him with 7 more bijuu so they can have a party in his already overcrowded head

Liked this chapter, but darn it they always feel so short

It was...okay I guess.

I just feel that unless Kishimoto is planning on ending his manga soon (which is probable...from what I have observed, most mangaka end their series after ten years...), it's much too soon for Naruto to make Nagato turn over a new leaf just by talking to him. I did forsee Naruto doing something like this, and think it was correct on Kishimoto's part to do so...but I really feel the timing was off.

This chapter also failed to explain to me why Nagato had to use 6 bodies to divide his powers. And I do not want Nagato to give Naruto the Rinnegan, even though I can understand why Kishi would do it. I personally want Naruto to obtain his abilities through training and hard work. However, I'm beginning to see another theme here: Naruto shows the bad guys the kind of person he really is, and inspired by him, bestow him with "gifts". In my opinion not the best way to go about the story, but on paper it doesn't sound like a bad idea for the Naruto-verse.

I suppose I need to give this another few chapters and see where this all leads. Fans have cried out against decisions Kishimoto made (Sasuke "beats" Itachi, Sasuke "defeats" KillerBee) but he came back with something that justified those decisions completely.

I also just realized...we never really got to see Konan fight. Perhaps she will become the example of everything Sakura wanted to avoid becoming? If not, I am going to be very disappointed in Kishimoto just wasting her like that.

I was just thinking of that. Aside from her brief fight with Jiraiya, we don't get to see Konan in action very much. I wouldn't be surprised if, depending on Pain's decision, she ended up fighting against Sakura. I'd like to see that. It would help people appreciate Sakura's growth, and we'd be able to see some good fights. Given Pain's words in the chapter, though, I don't think Konan would have the chance to fight with Sakura specifically.

I also feel that it would be a little strange if Pain immediately believed Naruto. Yes, Naruto does have a knack of helping other people 'see the light', but Pain is such a major antagonist that I can't help but feel that he would need much more convincing. I'm so desperate to see the next chapter - both the latest Naruto and Bleach manga have ended on characters revealing a new technique. arg.gif

I seriously doubt Konan and Sakura are going to fight. They're nowhere near each other, have never met, and have no concurring plotlines. It'd be a pointless catfight.

In his interview, Kishimoto-sensei stated that an Akatsuki member would become one of Naruto's allies. At this point in time, Konan is the most likely person to fill that role. She didn't seem all that into the whole "Let's conquer the world!" scene as Nagato did. She mostly seems to be in it to make sure Nagato doesn't do, well, all the stuff he's been doing the past 30 or so chapters. Which, now that I think about it, has been a serious epic fail on her part. Oh well.

And while it's true we haven't gotten to see a lot of her, she seems to be a one trick pony. She just uses paper. A decent water or fire user would have a field day with her. Or a toad oil user, as we saw with Jiraiya.

It would be strange for Nagato to believe Naruto that easily... Maybe it's not the type of jutsu any of us think it is. Maybe it's some kind of test, to see if Naruto is worth believing. That would make more sense.

...

But I still wanna see Naruto throwing around a Gravity enhanced Rasenshuriken. wub.gif

It was an alright chapter but I miss the days of Kabuto and Oro... when bad guys were really just bad, no hidden agenda... no hug it out moments... I suppose it fits with the whole peace thing... but still...

IMO, I think this is like "fate" they weren't guided by "destiny". & this chapter really reminds me of Itachi whom, after his death can still do something. & Jiraiya did the same thing... it may have been a coincidence, but I think it feels like Jiraiya "deliberately" did this on purpose... Anyways, IMO, I think this is what will happen:

Nagato says he will believe in Naruto but somehow he finds out about the prediction of the "child of prophecy" (maybe from Shizune) so, he will tell Naruto to prepare himself for one last battle between himself & Naruto.

Nagato: I believe in you, Naruto but however there can only be one child of prophecy.
Naruto: Eh?
Nagato: According from what I've gathered, it would seem that Jiraiya has been predicted that he will teach a student who will change the world... & that child is one of us...
Naruto: ......
Nagato: I will give you a chance, Naruto. In 2 years' time. We will face each other & determine who will be the one to change the world. & to see who is the better student as well as to see who will defeat that man...
Naruto: Wait a minute!!! You knew!!??
Nagato: Yes, his name is Uchiha Madara.....
Naruto: Eh??
Nagato: Well, then I shall be leaving... I'll leave Konan in your care.
Konan: Hold on, Nagato!!
Nagato: I would rather have you safe than to see you die... & besides Yahiko asked me to protect you...
Naruto: All right.
Nagato: Goodbye (poofs)

I do feel Nagato's turn-around was rather fast but if it's for real, then Nagato will most likely give Naruto something.

Rinnegan is a possibilty but a low oe at that. I wouldn't put it against him to do that but it just seems rather rushed. Naruto gets uber power from sage-mode, uber power from Kyuubi, and now uber power from Rinnegan? It sound cool, but it's just too much power in a short amount of time.

It's also possible he might try to revive Kakashi and/or Shizune. Unlikly, but completely possible.

It's also possible he might fix Naruto's seal. Who know's. Kishimoto could do anything with this.

Get Chance and Luck!!~

I think Nagato will give Naruto something too but not the Rinnegan. He has some control over the bijuu statue. He might take that away from the Akatsuki and give it to Naruto. We might get to see Sakura, Tsunade, Neiji (much more powerful than Hinata) plus although it's not been stated specifically, he's got to be Team Gai's medic nin, and then due to him now having Sage mode along with his huge chakra reserves, Naruto being the 4th person, might seal each of the bijuu in the statue into another unreachable dimension, like how we are seeing Shizune, Sakura, etc... trying to do with the three tails. Perhaps Nagato might be able to bring Shizune's soul back and do something for Kakashi too. (But I don't think Jiraiya, Nagato couldn't follow where his body went to and it's probably been too long.) Doing that will use up the last of Nagato's chakra but he'll tell Konan to go back to Rain country and take over as Kage, and put trust in Naruto to change things. Konan will leave as Nagato said.

I really hope that Nagato doesn't give his Rinnegan to Naruto. For one, if I were Naruto's friend and saw him go inside a paper tree and come outside with a new doujutsu, I'd be suspicious. Also, it would lead to Naruto possessing "the eyes but not the bloodline" as Itachi put it, and I think it's not Kishi's style to give Naruto a bloodline.

I'm thinking it maybe a gift or one of the Rinnegan's powers. Maybe he's taking out his mummy-chair and becoming Nagato again. I don't think that the turnaround is rushed though. Nagato is not inherently evil, just misguided. Most shinobi would kill and ask questions later (like in the book), but Naruto might have been the only one who actually wanted to talk to him. Something like that gave him hope in humanity.

Let us find out what happens though.

I'm really hoping that Naruto doesn't get the Rinnegan either, for all the reasons stated previously. It would feel like a serious copout. As for Itachi, I thought that he was the Akatsuki ally Kishi was referring to. *shrugs* Maybe not.

I agree with your assessment of Nagato too, and from both his and Konan's looks of total shock when Naruto asked for their story, I'd say its very possible that no one had tried to simply talk with them before.

I enjoyed this chapter a lot more than any of the previous ones this month, and it's feels like its been a long time since I've been this eager about what's going to happen in next week's issue. smile.gif

Or perhaps Kishi didn't consider it that way since Itachi technically always was on Naruto's side, just not overtly, and I doubt anyone really knew either.

If thats the case, Nagato could potentially be that 'Ally', and if not Nagato, then most likely Konan.

I'm starting to think even more that Kishimoto planned all along for Pain and Nagato to be two different characters, in a sense. After this, I kinda see Nagato becoming a neutral character. If he's going to give Naruto a chance at achieving peace through understanding then he can't continue to work with Akatsuki, but I don't think he'll become an ally of Konoha as I don't see both sides just letting bygones be bygones. I just hope Kishimoto has more planned for him and will put more twists on the "destined child" deal...I really don't want the story to be so predictable.

As for the jutsu...I'm not going to guess because these things tend to be unpredictable, especially with this character. Nobody was expecting Chibaku Tensei to do what it did. However, I will say that giving Naruto Rinnegan or reviving the dead are dumb ideas. Sage Mode + Kyuubi + Rinnegan....WAY too much power for a 16 year old, and it would drastically change Naruto's design. And if Nagato could revive the dead then he wouldn't be so angsty as he could bring back all of his dead friends. Although Kakashi probably isn't quite dead so maybe Nagato could help him....not sure what he could do at this distance though.
