That this isn't another obvious parallel.

Wow I'm surprised that that the first and second had a little brother they lost in the war, that was so sad. I'm not sure if the other kid who died was related to them too. Anyhow I like how they showed how serious everyone was as children since they were growing up in a time of war. I remember last week I wasn't looking forward to a flash back but this was actually a very interesting chapter.

At this point I feel completely detached from what's going on. The only concern in my mind is how much longer this flashback will continue before we can see what Sakura is up to.

I agree. This little flashback sequence, and the mini-arc in general, is extremely boring.

Still can't get over Hashirama's goofy haircut. xD

Madara was so funny and cute as a kid! They both seemed to have frequent mood swings, with Hashirama going from light-hearted to depressed and Madara from apologetic to... Mean? Ha.

OHH SHIIIT Hashirama was just hit by his dad! i expected that... Who the hell is that third kid with Hashirama and Tobirama? o___o There's another brother!? Itama? 'Sup with his hair doe. I guess Hashirama looks like his father, Tobirama like their mother and Itama is a mix... Literally, black hair and white hair. He's cute though. Tobirama was cute as a kid, too. D'aww.

I like how Tobirama stood between their father and Hashirama to protect him. <3

AW MAN ITAMA DIED. Though that was a given... Sorry if this sounds all over the place, I'm writing this as I read the chapter. xD

Poor Hashirama. sad.gif He was crying... Though Madara certainly lightened the mood! Wait, Izuna is already dead? Since Madara said that his siblings died... Guess he just hasn't been born yet.

The ending was okay. Overall, I think I enjoyed the chapter. It was cool to find out Hashirama had another brother, and though it would have been nice to see Madara as just a ruthless villain, I liked seeing him as a kid. He was pretty funny. tongue.gif Good that him and Hashirama can retain those demeanours even during constant war.

Word! I was afraid of that, but I actually like how this turned out. :3

This chapter wasn't too bad, I actually enjoyed it, but not all of it. Mostly the silly stuff with Madara and Hashirama I enjoyed. And I know that I'm probably going to get bored and sick of these flashbacks really quickly.

Ugh, we're gonna have to wait a LONG time before we even see a glimpse of Sakura again. :\ That makes me sad/mad.

Not a very interesting chapter, strange how the two clans that were at the centre of the conflict are now the two clans that have been all but destroyed (though what happened with the Senju is still a mystery, hopefully we'll find out soon, atleast it would be something new).

I'm sure Kishi has his reason for humanising the Uchiha clan and try to give them a valid reason for them trying to destroy the world but honestly I find it all an excuse, and not a good one at that. They have a special chakra that makes them go evil? I really stopped caring about the Uchiha history years ago.

Im not sure what the point of this chapter was, we already know that the life of a Shinobi is short, and that war is brutal, it's been mentioned already a few hundred times in the Manga already we didn't really need another chapter telling us exactly that, I can't believe we were taken from the most freaking awesome battle to a another flashback, and worst of all I know that in another 20 chapters we'll get another flashback, this time from Madara's point of view, from him meeting Hashirama, to his younger brother dying, him getting the MS, and then the EMS, and then the Kyuubi capture, and then his battle with Hashirama, and his plan, and how he gave Negato his eyes etc.

I remember reading a funny comments on Narutoforums last week before chapter 621 how by the time Hashirama finished his talk the war was over and Sasuke and friends were all old men, and it's starting to look like there was some truth in that comment afterall.

ehhh i'm sorry you feel that way sad.gif

I want to see what Sakura is up to too, but I'm really digging this flashback (maybe because I am a giant fan of Hashirama).

I do like how Kishi is expanding the world, like giving Hashirama and Madara other siblings. It really makes sense that not all of them lived considering how violent that era was.

Madara and Hashirama's dynamics are interesting. Definitely not quite as close as Kakashi-Obito/ Sasuke-Naruto. It's somehow different.

I do find it slightly ironic that we now learn that Hashirama's younger brother died at the hands of the Uchiha clan...and yet, if what Obito was saying was true, he was willing to propose the peace treaty.

Actually now I'm beginning to think Obito lied about a lot things or Madara twisted them. I do get the feeling the Hidden Leaf wasn't born just out of grudging agreement from Madara- I mean it is quite a major thing to agree on. I think he did support it too, but somehow something happened. Well we'll find out!

I'm glad that Hashirama and Madara aren't (as of 622) a complete Naruto Sasuke parallel rather there are shades of them in each but they are more their own characters.

So if this isn't the 1st great Shinobi war happening during their childhood what is it just some other random war before it because it makes it sound like its a war encompassing all regions and involving shinobi. But on the subject of shinobi did anyone else notice that the shinobi of this time period seem to dress and act far more like conventional shinobi then what they are now, we didn't even see anything out of the norm, makes me wonder if they can even use jutsu or if that's something from Hashirama / Madara onwards (outside of the Sage of the Six Paths obviously), I suppose we did see the Sharingan so I guess they could.

I'm curious about Izuna now because Madara said all his brothers were dead, was he excluding Izuna or had Izuna not been born yet or is this a retcon?

That would be a giant messy retcon if it were one and quite unnecessary.

Izuna and Madara looked way older in the other flashbacks, so I'm inclined to think that Izuna just hasn't been born. Maybe Madara is actually the youngest for now and all those who died are his older brothers.

Madara's protectiveness would make sense if Izuna was considerably younger than him and since he's had all his other brothers killed.

I don't care for parallels at all, so I'm glad this chapter had things go in a different direction than expected.

To me this chapter was kinda funny in the beginning but as the chapter went on and started regurgitating the old cycle of hatred message and now I'm back to my original opinion about flashback arcs and Sasuke centric arcs I just want it to be over already.

Anyway so, sad about Itama we just meet him and he dies, and about Izuna, Madara just said he had 4 brothers he didn't say that they were all dead, he and Izuna might be the only two left.

Just really happy that --Click here to view--
Hashirama and Madara's relationship isn't just a carbon copy of Naruto and Sasuke's. I was really afraid of that. I mean, Kakashi and Obito's isn't a carbon copy either, but I was still anxious about that. This seems like a healthier relationship than Naruto and Sasuke (at least for now), sort of like Kakashi and Obito. And from what we've seen it looks like Hashirama isn't just going to let what Madara does (or attempts to do) slide, and will do what it takes to protect the village. At least I really hope so — and who knows, maybe Naruto will learn a thing or two from the God of Shinobi.

But really Madara is so tsundere omg. He actually somewhat reminds me of Sakura when she has her occasional outbursts... Hmm...

xD Lmao! This is what you get for letting an Uchiha live... Torture... See what happens, Naruto-verse!?

just thought of something --Click here to view--
This chapter may explain why Tobirama seems to despise the Uchiha so much. I mean, of course part of the reason is that they're volatile and dangerous, but now we know that a bunch of Uchiha shinobi killed his little brother... And he probably still holds a grudge against them for it.

Yeah, that's quite a good reason imo. I suppose Hashirama just dealt with it differently.

I'm glad the Senju clan is portrayed as being pretty messed up too, so they're more realistic and not some perfect POWER OF LOVE good ninja clan while the Uchiha are all ebil. 7 year old kids, really? :/ That's just brutal... Hashirama's father honestly seemed quite Danzo-like in how militant he was. I mean all the Uchiha we saw fighting in this chapter looked liked they were at least teenagers, not preteens!

Also really shows why Hashirama became the peaceful idealist he is.

I'm also glad that Hashirama and Madara have their own individual quirks that make them somehow different from Naruto and Sasuke.

You could say that Hashirama is a more sensitive Naruto and Madara is a more temperamental Sasuke. The essence of their friendship is similar to that of Naruto and Sasuke but there are indeed differences the make it more original.

If we go by that pattern Mito probably isn't just some other Sakura, but will have elements of her here and there. Since she's an Uzumaki I at least expect her to have an attitude. As long as she isn't some shy girl that hides behind a tree I'm all good. laugh.gif

I thought for sure they were gonna have some parallels this chapter, but I was mistaken since it's going based off what Hashirama is telling Sasuke. I'm looking forward to seeing more next week.
