Hellooo, SLAVES OF THE INTERNET.

This is my new dealie, and I'll most likely enforce it here and only here because you guys rock my socks.

I'm sure you're all familiar with challenges. I'll issue various guidelines, you write a one-shot or something or other. It'll be a weekly thing, or bi-weekly, and I may extend deadlines as I see fit. Because. I'm snobbish.

Test runnage. If this goes well, then...yeah, I'll keep this up.

Post all challenge responses in this forum, but not in this topic. You could also post them on FanFiction.Net if you have an account and are particularly proud of the result.

Parameters: A glimpse of the Narutoverse minus one character, be that character integral to the canonical plot or not. Assume that character never, ever existed--then set your fingers to the keyboard and get to work.

No worries, I'm sure one of the awesome writers here will answer the call. This idea is intriguing, especially if someone wrote the series minus one horribly angsting fellow named Uchiha Sasuke.

Naruto would have Sakura.

Shikamaru would have Ino.

Lee would still have his pride and taijutsu.

Oro would be sad, but that's not a bad thing.

What a wonderful place the world would be.

Don't make me the only one to try this out, make the others do it as well, since I may end up shooting my keyboard out of annoyance, and then where will I be?

hmm, an interesting challenge Jingure. if i weren't so lazy like Shikamaru i would actually write something. but if i were to write then it'd probably be something angsty (Darn you teenage angst!).

You don't need to bump this topic - it's very easy to spot new topics.

I had already thought of who to go for, but Arashi already beat me to it. Life would be so much easier without Sasuke...

Maybe I'll try taking Naruto himself out. What a dark piece it would be, people unable to change because they didn't have sense beaten into them by a blond kid.

Or maybe Iruka! What would it have been like if he wasn't there for Naruto..?

Whoa, that IS a nice idea!

Naruto would still have his family, and he'd probably be the popular guy instead of Sasuke. His dad would already be training him hard in jutsus and teaching him all about friendship and love.

He'd certainly be different because he wouldn't need to be a troublemaker to get attention -and he would probably help pick Sakura up while she was being picked on for her forehead.

Hee. I'm not doing one of those guys. I'm doing someone completely different you may not think about at first. Or maybe you would. I don't know.

Since this is really my first time writing, it won't be dark or anything like that. Just a little piece. I wrote it last night and I'm already up to 1,184 words! W00t! I'll be adding more to it.

I'll be writing my little piece in anthropology today. I've got a title for it and everything. XD XD XD So exciting...and SO dark...

I've already got one in my head as well. It'll certainly be quite different from what we're used to in Naruto. It's even going to be *gasp* dark in places.
