I don't know if this has been happening to anyone else, but lately on Fan Fiction.net I've been getting reviews that are for a better of the word, outrageous and rather stupid. I opened my e-mail this morning to see some reviews from Fan Fiction.net and I click on them to see rather stupid reviews from it seems rabid NH and SS fans criticizing the way my stories are and how I can't write. What's really funny is how stupid they're making themselves seem, so I've disabled anonymous reviews on my FF account for now, but my question to other writers is, do you have the same problem I'm having too?

My friend those aren't outrageous reviews they are called FLAMES you have two options.
-You can send a message to the site admnistrators about the flame and they will have it remove.
-You activate the no anynomous reviews button on your account (this is the easiests solution because most of the flamers are anonymous).
-You can send a message to the site admnistrators about the flame and they will have it remove.

Yeah I know they're flames, but then again I can't believe how stupid some people can be and don't worry I've already disabled anonymous reviews, but the problem is most of them were anonymous, so I can't report them, then again I'm not worried.

Your best option is probably to ignore them.
Acknowledging them only adds fuel to the flames, in a manner of speaking. Flamers live for acknowledgment, if you don't give it, they'll get bored and move on eventually. You'll likely learn to tune them out before that happens.

Hm, never follow my tactic, I would end up swearing then probably get so mad I'd say I'm gonna flame any/every NH/SS fic/art I see then see how it hurts there feelings (Mostly because I'm insecure and if I'm judged for whatever reason in a stupid way I get VERY upset :,|

I always find it interesting that regardless if your review is a flame or not you're still giving the story a review. Which, in the terms of a numbers game, its still one less review than you had a moment ago.

I have never really seen any flames myself, but I have received plenty of negative reviews from people unsatisfied with either my update speed, which is horrible btw, and pairings. As long as it's constructive criticism, I always take it to heart, and ignore the pairing rants. I've written several negative reviews on stories I've found horrible for some reason, but never anonymous. I just love to see how they reply to my review, since I make an effort to make it as constructive as possible, and to add reasons behind everything I point out. If they whine because I took the time to write a negative review instead of the masses of "good story please update"'s, I counter it with yet another.
This one time I got a pm from one of them, angry as hell because I dared to write a negative review on his story, and he said that because of me, he would leave ff.net and delete all his stories. I just replied that if he wasn't interested in learning to write better, then he wouldn't be missed by anyone. Harsh, but constructive. Don't be afraid to leave negative reviews.

You know, once I received bad critic bcz of a ns drawing. And I did what catsi said. Heh, the reviewer started swearing me but I was polite and I pissed him off XD

I've simply and honestly found it to be the best method. most of them literally cannot respond to you being polite to them in return. theyre usualy trying to get a flame war going or the like and when you respond positively and politely they just cant do anything.
Ive always tried like Sakura_1 to be postive and constructive in my reviews even when im disappointed or upset over a story or the turn such a story took. But I always maintained a postive attitude and polite demeanor.
