[Toasty Warrior]

Hey guys, Toasty Warrior here with a challenge of my own, it kinda came to me when we were talking about what would happen if the bench scene were ever resolved. So my challenge to any writers out there is this, write a one shot based on how you think Sakura would react to finding out the truth about the bench scene from chapter three.

Toasty it's been a while since you posted this thread I hope you haven't close the challenge because I do have something in mind. Inspiration has hit me and I think I will write a short one shot I will try and keep it above 5000 words maximun (please mind the grammar horrors ).

I would but... Okay... I really don't have a good excuse. Does laziness count? Unfortunately, I'm currently in a Halo: Reach craze right now. (One of the reasons I've been fairly inactive lately.) That takes up a lot of my time on the weekends...

Finished my one shot answer to this challenge. It's short so I'll just post it here

Revelations

“You did what?” Anger flashed across Sakura face. Naruto winced, and shut his eyes tight, anticipating at minimum a sharp head bonk- that his long ago idiocy surely deserved. Seconds turned into a minute and nothing happened. Then he heard it- she began to laugh. He opened his eyes and she began to laugh harder, so much so she was gasping as she uttered “Baka!” As was common now, the tone of the word was not angry but teasing.

Sakura gradually calmed down, then with a hint of an amused smile asked- “Why?”

Naruto flushed with embarrassment. “You liked him so much, I wanted to know what you really thought of me…”

“But those words you said at first-”

“You do have a beautiful forehead. I wanted to kiss it then, and…” Naruto leaned in and lightly kissed her forehead “I still do.”

Sakura gasped when Naruto’s lips touched her forehead, instant desire flared all over her body. She looked at him wide eyed as he drew back with a serious look on his face.

“You do?”

“Yes. Sakura chan, Sai told me things about your feelings after you left that time.”

“I…”

“Sakura chan, I believe that you do really love me. I just sensed there was something still there about Sasuke. I knew you were fooling yourself that you had shut off all your feelings that you had for Sasuke It made me angry that you were trying to pretend you had shut off all your feelings and didn‘t even think of him as part of Team 7 anymore. When Sai talked to me, I finally understood and it shocked me. You had really had put your love for him in the past, and were doing all this out of your love for me. You saw before I did that Sasuke had gone too far, out of the memory of him that you had loved, death might be his only release from the hell he had put himself into-”

“And wants to inflict on the world”

Naruto nodded.

“Naruto, please tell me you won’t fight till you both die.”

Naruto looked sad. “Sakura chan, you know if I can’t reach him…”

Sakura began to cry. “That’s why I wanted…”

“And I don’t want you to die. I don’t want anyone to die, but you I want to be alive more than anyone else.”

“I feel the same!”

Naruto smiled “That’s what I found out that day.”

“What day?”

“That day, the day we became Team 7, when I henged as Sasuke and we almost kissed.”

Sakura giggled, “but you ran away.”

Naruto looked embarrassed “Yeah”

Sakura raised a questioning eyebrow “I know that look- you’re hiding something. Tell me.”

“Oh man, it’s really embarrassing, Sakura chan.”

“Naruto” Sakura’s exp​ression was shifting toward irritation

“Yeah, I was getting really nervous, and I don’t know if I could have gone through with the kiss, but I ran away because I could tell I was going to have diarrhea.”

“Ugh.! I’m glad you ran away then!” Sakura laughed, giving him amused but grossed out look.

Naruto laughed embarrassedly. Unexpectedly, Sakura cuddled against him and chuckled. “What a guy I’ve fallen in love with.” The tone was teasing, but affectionate. After the shock of her sudden embrace wore off, he brought his arm around her, completing the circle of a mutual embrace. In each other arms, the warmth of a sunrise washed over them.
