Unrelated to the article you linked, it fills me with great joy that Bernie Sanders is running for president. I hope he really challenges Clinton.

I don't think Hilary should be allowed to run for presidency, she already had her reign, everyone knows she was the one in charge instead of Bill, the US public were just not ready for a female leader, so she needed a male mouthpiece to get the votes.
I'll be honest looking from the outside, the US goverment seems to be the most backward politically run country around. The President doesn't appear to have any power, most of the politicians seem to be openly bribable, Race, religion and gender still appear to be a big factor in trying to gain votes. It's depressing to think that this is the most powerful country in the world, and it seems to be the most kittened u from all developed countries.

Republicans suck!! If Hilary runs for president she's got my vote. ;)

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, BILL was the president not Hilary. Also what you said is extremely sexist.

I want Bernie Sanders.
He's like, the most awesome politician out there really. Everything he fights for I believe in. It just sucks that he has no chance against Hillary.
Ben Carson and Huckabee, on the other hand, are probably two of the runners that I dislike the most. Ron Paul is okay.
Also, I think this thread will be fine as long as nobody gets heated or start bashing.

I don't think what harry4e was sexist, because there's some truth to it that we have to acknowledge. America wasn't even ready for a black president- which is why the day he was elected, there was an assassination attempt that was stopped against him. But back in Bill Clinton era it was Hillary that ran everything. She was his go to person. She had more power than like, Eleanor Roosevelt haha. So to have that again would be a bliss. I think that very reason alone is why she should run for president.

Acknowleding the country's general attitude towards a female president is not the same as agreeing with it.
Anyway, it doesn't matter much who becomes president. Republicans will vote down all their bills and then blame them for not changing anything.

Republicans have been moving further and further right wing ever since Reagan to the point where even Nixon or Reagan himself would appear "too liberal" for them, and to where anything even moderately left wing is "extreme left". It's gotten to the point where...
Dr. Lawrence Britt has examined the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia) and several Latin American regimes. Britt found 14 defining characteristics common to each:
1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.
2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.
3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.
4. Supremacy of the Military - Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.
5. Rampant Sexism - The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Divorce, abortion and homosexuality are suppressed and the state is represented as the ultimate guardian of the family institution.
6. Controlled Mass Media - Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.
7. Obsession with National Security - Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.
8. Religion and Government are Intertwined - Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.
9. Corporate Power is Protected - The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.
10. Labor Power is Suppressed - Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.
11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts and letters is openly attacked.
12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment - Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.
13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption - Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.
14. Fraudulent Elections - Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.
....quite scary how they praise things related to, and fit each point perfectly. A number of Democrats also fall under these points as collaborators.

Hilary is way too conservative for my tastes. She's overly hawkish on foreign policy, she's right-leaning financially, and she ran a really nasty and racist campaign against Obama in 2008. I am thankful I'm in a state where I can vote 3rd party and not feel guilty. While I don't like her politics, she's definitely better than the republican alternatives for someone like me who finds the republican's stance on social issues really unsettling.

A lot of people here share common views with me and that makes me happy. But here's where I go radical- because I am a radical liberal lol. I don't believe in elections anyway. Will I be voting? Yes. But I don't think voting for a president will change anything. Whether it's Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders (my top two). Sushi is right. Congress makes the bills.
But corporations make Congress. And that's what capitalism in America is- a system built to keep the rich richer and the poor poorer. There is no middle class. Only working low class. And we live in a country that says it's okay to not tax mega corporations but it's okay to tax everyday working people. And in order for our capitalism to work, you have to have a poor class.
I mean there's just no such thing as the American Dream for most people, but it's always been that way- you just had to be born with a luck and certain circumstances to achieve it. But now we live in a era where those "certain circumstances" are becoming fewer and fewer. The cause of this is because America's capitalist system isn't designed to last long- it lives off of the ideal that the Earth is somehow an endless supply of goods and that those same goods are not meant to be shared.
This is why I wish Bernie Sanders would win and make this whole country socialist! Lol. But really, I don't see any hope in elections. We have to get rid of capitalism as a whole in order to see significant change. Just my 2 cents.

I understand your view but "socialism" ( more like the way it was applied ) is a very problematic political system. Capitalism isn't even a form of governement, it's just part of the liberal/conservative political system
The ideal of the socialism is noble, however it's still an utopia
Socialism ( the way it was applied in RL) is basically making everyone miserable and with the power concentrated in the hand of a political party or a person
Persona 5 hype

Personally I don't believe that. But I will say that if we really think about it, every government system only applies in an utopia, and no perfect structure could ever exist. Even anarchy could only work in a true utopia. We, as humans, just have to choose what's best for us and what's the lesser of all evils. What would you consider America's form of government to be?

I found an instresting article about how the Iserali's are trying hard to keep Iseral Jewish, in fact, the top six crazy laws they have have made to keep them a Jewish nation. http://www.rawstory....-racial-purity/ However, it does come from a liberal news paper, although I do see it linking information from the articles it has gathered to provide evidence.
Very interesting. I have my own opinions on these types of issues but I feel like it's not my right to push them, especially since I don't live in Israel and I'm not Jewish. I just wish the genocide happening with Palestine would stop.
